An Oregon Coast getaway to quiet, beautiful Waldport will be an unforgettable destination when you stay at this spotless, three-bedroom Shideler House. With amenities like a washer and dryer, both an ocean and river view, and WiFi, you'll have all the comforts of home, but with a great location only a five minute walk right to the Pacific Ocean!
Close to Alsea Bay and Governor Patterson Memorial State Park, this Waldport vacation rental allows you to walk to restaurants, a handful of shops, and the beach - park your car when you arrive and you won't have to use it during your stay. But, if you do want to explore, Newport is only a 15 minute drive north and charming Yachats is just 15 minutes south.
From the living room of this comfortable escape, you can watch a sunset, a DVD on the TV (there's also cable and a Wii for entertainment options), or just spend time socializing as a group. No matter what you do, the wood-burning fireplace (bring your own wood) will help keep everyone cozy.
The full kitchen has all major appliances (even a dishwasher for easy clean-up). When it's time to eat, gather everyone around the six-person dining table for a meal with a lovely view. In the three bedrooms, you'll have a king bed, a queen bed and two twins - room for up to six guests to come and enjoy sleepy, charming Waldport!
This Central Oregon Coast retreat also offers a deck with comfy outdoor seating, a gas grill, board games to play, a VCR, stereo with a CD player, and two and a half bathrooms.
The Shideler House is ideal for family vacations, get-togethers with friends, or couples traveling together. Relax on the coast with ocean views, or borrow the home's crabbing and clamming gear and head to Alsea Bay to do a little fishing. Maybe you'll catch your dinner? If not, there are plenty of restaurants to grab a bite.
Whether you spend your time at this Waldport vacation home beach combing on the sand, visiting neighboring towns like Newport or Yachats, or simply relaxing on your back deck, this Oregon Coast getaway makes a perfect vacation home-base!
Thanks for considering a Vacasa home! We provide full-service management for privately owned vacation homes, and like to think that we offer our guests the best of both worlds: the unique experience of staying in a one-of-a-kind vacation home, with the peace of mind that comes from knowing that the home you book for your special vacation is cared for by professional housekeepers and property managers.
Vacasa began in 2009, simply because our founder and CEO Eric wanted to find a better way to share his wife’s family’s summer home in Long Beach, Washington with guests as a vacation rental. Eric and his early team worked to build Vacasa on the premise that local employees can do what they love most (taking care of guests, homeowners, and properties), while the hands-off tasks of vacation rental management—things like marketing, filing taxes, and maintaining a website—could be handled by a specialized central support team.
Our passion is connecting travelers with the unique experience of staying in a vacation home, and we would be honored to be your host. Please contact us with any questions about this home—our team is standing by!
We came for Thanksgiving and though the weather was not excellent most of the time, this was a marvelous house to hunker down in during the storms and it's proximity to the water made it easy to take advantage of the ocean during the rare times the storm let up.
While the house is located on the bay and not the ocean, it was a very comfortable and relaxing spot to spend several days. The house is well maintained and set up to meet just about every expectation. Kitchen was well stocked, TV had links to Netflix, YouTube and much more, and the beds were very comfortable. The house is right on the bay with great views from the rear deck. Fun to watch the seals and for the great sunset on our one sunny day (hey, it is the Oregon coast). Only thing missing would be a hot tub.
This property has a beautiful view of the Alsea bay. It's fun to watch people fish and to view the birds and other wildlife. You have to walk around the front of the house to access the beach, which is unfortunate. There also isn't much beach unless it is low tide. It is right next to highway 1, although not noisy. The house was clean and has nice furnishings, except needs upgrades on the beds.
Great views, well stocked kitchen, clean house and the house is in very good condition. This is a great house for being inside or out. The neighborhood is quiet and the neighbors are very nice.
What a great house. There are too many things to list on why we really enjoyed it. We will be back! Probably soon...
This house was perfect for our family. Fabulous views, big open kitchen, close to everything in Waldport. Could not ask for a better location and will definitely be returning in the future.
