Space 2,500 sq. ft.
Property type cabin
Minimum Stay 3 - 7 nights

About the property

4 Bedroom, 2 Bathroom Lakehome With Sunset Views

Our lakeshore home is designed for family fun and relaxation. Located on semi-private Iron Lake, there is plenty of room for tubing, fishing, swimming or just relaxing on the large deck or dock watching the sunset. The cabin has four bedrooms with 2 full baths. The main floor has knotty pine, floor to ceiling stone fireplace and windows and a reclaimed wood floor from the Great Salt Lake. The upper floor has comfortable seating and a television with Dish network. Fishing off the dock is a great activity for smaller children. There is plenty of wildlife from otters to eagles. Smores can be created at dusk at the firepit. The Milky Way and other celestial bodies can be clearly viewed at night. Bayfield, Amnicon State Park and the Brule River are all close by for exploring.

About Sally Wojtowicz

In 2003, my husband saw this property on the internet and we came up the next day and purchased it. It was Memorial Day weekend and there were two boats on the entire lake. We knew this is where we wanted to come with our family to relax. We haven't been disappointed. Our family has grown to eleven and we enjoy our long weekends up in Northwestern Wisconsin. The Troutdale properties are part of an old trout farm and our five acres is where the original homestead was located. We enjoy the area all of the four seasons.

Sally Wojtowicz purchased this cabin in 2003

What a marvelous stay!

This vacation house was EXCELLENT. Everyone in our party was impressed. We had a 4-day family fall get-together here and with 7 adults and 3 children, and we were totally comfortable! Plenty of room to spread out with the main room, side den, huge upstairs loft and loads of space on the deck. The house was clean as can be. We made all our meals in their well-equipped kitchen. We spent lots of time on the water. Enjoyed several pontoon rides and had plenty of room on the dock for the fishing boat, kayak and paddleboard that our group brought. Unforgettable sunsets and foggy mornings on beautiful lake. Caretaker was very friendly and had great communication with the owner. Location is nice & close for daytrips to Apostle Islands and Duluth. Spacious yard made for a fun croquet course. Great stock of movies at the house for watching in the evenings. Fun for everyone. It was a great stay. If we are ever able to get-together again in northern WI, would definitely stay here again. Recommended!

Great Vacation Place!

  • 5 of 5

We we very excited when we found this rental on VRBO, when we arrived, we were very impressed at how beautiful and clean this rental was, everything that you need is there, just bring your food. The gas for the pontoon and propane for the grill were provided, as well as firewood and news paper to get it going. we caught several northern and we found an excellent place to anchor the pontoon and swim. The town is only 2.5 miles away if you needed anything. The care taker was very helpful and a pleasure to talk to. We will definitely rent again. The Swanson's

Highly Recommend this house! Amazing, clean, and fun family-friendly home.

We stayed at this house last month and had high expectations from the pictures. The house completely surpassed our expectations. There were 4 adults and a dog and we had plenty of space. The house is very well decorated/furnished and everything was very clean. The kitchen and bathrooms had everything we would need, and the family room/TV room was nice to relax in. The location seemed very private and woodsy. We spent most of our time on the pontoon boat fishing and cruising around the lake. We had low expectations for the boat but the pictures do not do it justice. There were 4 bucket seats for fishing and plenty of bench seats as well. The lake is a little shallow in spots, but we still caught several good sized northerns, a handful of crappies/bluegill, and 1 bass. The area was nice as well. Recommend the Amnicon falls nearby, as well as a trip to the apostle islands (and a ferry to madeline island). We also loved Deep Lake Lodge restaurant in Iron River (right on a lake).

It is clear right down to the details that the owners care about this house (e.g., remote control blinds for the upper windows, separate temperature control for the upstairs 2 bedrooms from the lower 2). Only thing we regret was not using the fire pit. Also, the owner was very responsive and helpful, and the house caretaker was helpful/informative as well. HIGHLY Recommend this house.

You wont be disappointed

This was a very last minute mini-vacation for us. We stumbled on this home online, called the owners and were there the very next day. What a beautiful place! The kids (and us) were in awe when we pulled up. Very well kept, clean, fully furnished and on a beautiful, quiet lake. We had a blast taking the pontoon out and fishing for the day. The loons kept us entertained and so did the paddle boat. Nighttime campfires were the perfect ending to each night. Our stay was far too short. We hope to get back here again.
