Casa de la Tortuga Beach House, Cape Cod

Watch the ball game and your other favorite TV programs with your preferred beverage on a large flat screen over a meal from the outdoor dining area. Updated Cape Cod style 2-story home with a short walk to Grey Neck and Pleasant Road Beach in West Harwich. Convenient to Harwich Port shops and restaurants.

La Casa de la Tortuga is a wonderful place to kick back and relax with family friends with three great areas for eating, drinking and socializing. The Sun Room is a relaxing place to start the day with coffee and tea for the early birds. The back patio has lots of seating for a fun family meal. There is a gas BBQ and flat screen TV so you’ll never miss a pitch. For a cozier place to lounge, the living room is a great space to play board games or kick back with a film.

This home has Central Air throughout except for the a/c units in Main floor Bedrooms. All bedrooms also have ceiling fans. There is Wireless Internet everywhere, Surround Sound and you can even use the Apple TV in Living Area to watch your favorite movies and TV shows. Log into your iTunes account and watch movies and tv shows from your own account. The ability to play music from Apple computers and devices will let you play music all over the house and yard.

As you walk in the front door you enter the large living area with high cathedral ceilings and view to the upstairs. The living area has large flat screen TV with DVD player, Apple TV and Surround Sound. Through the living area you will enter the open kitchen with granite counters and dining table with seating. With a click of a button you can transfer a little dinner music into the dining room.

From the kitchen you can access the landscaped patio and the enclosed Sun Room. Down the hall from the kitchen are 2 bedrooms with 2 full bathrooms (master is has ensuite). The bedroom on the right has a queen bed and at the end of the hallway there is a full bath with a tub/shower combination. To the left is another bedroom with a king bed (brand new Tempur-pedic) and on-suite full bathroom (shower only).

Upstairs is a catwalk hallway, 2 bedrooms and a full bath. Both upstairs bedrooms have 2 twin beds each and share an adjoining full bathroom (shower only). There is a washer/dryer in the basement. Outside is a landscaped patio with dining and seating, built in gas grill and outdoor shower. There is an outdoor shower we recommend after a trip to the beach to keep from tracking sand into the house. Nighttime outdoor showers by candlelight are a must.

The house is located on a gravel dead end road of only 3 houses and the roads leading to the beach are not through roads so the neighborhood is quiet, friendly and safe.

NO SMOKING INDOORS.

Please keep energy consumption to a minimum by keeping doors and windows closed when AC is on. Turn off AC when away from home.

Note that the owner lives in the guest house next to the property, however remaining anonymous.

I am semi retired father of three and grandfather of two who enjoys reading and golfing in my free time. Our Cape house was built by my father in 1973 and has been a family beach retreat for generations.

Wonderful spot for a beach vacation

My family and I (five people total) spent a wonderful week in Harwich. The house is spacious, meticulous and well appointed. The owners are super friendly and accommodating. The location to beaches as well as shopping, restaurants, etc is fantastic. We hope to be back next summer.

West Harwich is one of most loved villages on the Cape. With great fresh water and Nantuckett Sound beaches, water sports, cycling, shopping and wonderful restaurants. There is much and more to do and see in this small town alone.

The house is located on a dead end gravel road with only three houses so there is little car traffic in front of the house. The roads you follow to Grey Neck Beach are all non-through access so the neighborhood is quiet and friendly and great for strolling.
