About the property

Ephraim Is Known As The Cape Cod Of The Midwest (only Ephraim Is Better)!

DEER PATH is an upscale brand new cottage with Pottery Barn furnishings in a lovely tucked away residential neighborhood. Owned by a S. California artist. Perfect for a romantic couple seeking a wooded property with total quiet and privacy, yet close to everything Door County has to offer. Whitetail deer, wild turkeys and other wildlife are seen every day on the property and neighborhood. Ephraim Village and waterfront is a 5 minute drive or an easy bike ride away. There is a beautiful nature trail bordering the back of the property that continues around the neighborhood. This home is in an enchanting area of north Ephraim, wooded with mature hardwood forest; white birch, sugar maple and oaks. This 3 year old cottage with 1 bedroom and 1 bath is a design of award winning architect Ross Chapin of Seattle. Lots of big windows in every room and Brazilian cherry floors throughout. Cute alcove for dining with wrap-around windows look out to the natural wooded setting off the kitchen area. Living room has free standing gas fireplace for those cozy days and nights, a flat screened TV and lots of books and magazines. Upstairs you are welcomed by the built-in daybed, perfect for naps, reading or just quiet time. The hallway features a workbench/desk area with lots of books and space for your laptop. The skylit bathroom has a wonderful Jacuzzi bath and shower with a big window beside. The main bedroom has wrap-around windows making you feel like you're in a tree house with hundreds of trees just outside your window! Nice upper deck outside the bedroom for morning coffee or doing nothing but 'listening' to nature! Outside there's a briquette barbecue area with hammock just a few feet from the home. There's also space at the end of the 185 ft. driveway to park your boat.

Your vacation in this cottage will relax and rejuvenate your spirit!

We had a wonderful visit. We stayed 4 days and spent most of our time at the cottage-- the truly lovely home and quiet surroundings were exactly what we needed!

Absolute Utopia

  • 5 of 5

We stayed five days in this wonderful haven. The trees on the property were a beautiful golden color and so dense we felt as if we were alone on the planet. It's hard to pick a favorite feature but the coziness and many windows top the list. Love the personal touches. All the family photographs seem to tell a story. It felt like a home and not merely a rental property.

Perfect in so many ways

  • 5 of 5

We were looking for a romantic, quiet place to stay for our 10 year anniversary and found it here at Deer Path Cottage. It was a peaceful place to rest at night and waking up to the sunlight peering in through the trees was incredible. Relaxing in the hammock was my husband's favorite way to spend the afternoon, while I enjoyed looking through the many books on the comfortable couch. We felt so comfortable and content, we simply wanted to stay at the cottage and enjoy our wine outside. We did venture out each day to enjoy the wonderful food and beauty of Door County, but it was this perfect cottage which made our trip truly special and memorable. A beautiful cottage. We look forward to coming back next year.

A very special place!

  • 5 of 5

We've just spent a magical week here, celebrating our 50th anniversary. The cottage is exquisite, with special touches everywhere. Huge, uncurtained windows provide views into the woods from every room. Each space -- the living room with its warm gas stove, the very functional kitchen, the breakfast nook that's great for lingering, the cozy nap couch at the top of the stairs, the bedroom in the trees -- is perfectly designed and furnished. Books and art abound. The only problem with this cottage is that you will never want to leave when you get here!

Relaxing, quiet, and the gift of time and space

  • 5 of 5

The cottage is perfect in every way. It was freezing outside while we were there, but we didn't care. The cottage is cozy, clean, warm, well decorated, and Lori met our every need. We spent hours in the breakfast nook chatting, doing puzzles that we brought, and reading. The internet and cable worked perfectly. Peaceful. Thank you for sharing your amazing home!!

A perfect getaway

  • 5 of 5

We had an excellent time at deer path cottage. The home is perfect for an individual or couple looking to get away into the woods, while still being too remote, and indeed, only a short 10 minute drive from multiple towns offering plenty of entertainment options. We found the home perfect for our needs: it was cozy, clean, easy to find, and full of unique reading nooks and lounging areas for taking a little time to relax and reflect. Plus, the booking agent (Laurie) was incredibly helpful in assisting us with any and all questions that we had. We will definitely return to door county, and if possible, to this home.
