About Chad Dixon
This is a great home that has been in our family for several years now. We have decided to share this wonderful experience with others, and I'm sure you won't be disappointed.
Chad Dixon purchased this House in 2011
Why Chad Dixon chose Breezy Point
This home is uniquely, and perfectly located between an award-winning Arnold Palmer designed golf course and one of the premier fishing and boating lakes in Minnesota. Nestled among some huge oaks and evergreens with a great view of the lake, it is walking distance to the clubhouse or the lake.

Chad was incredible to deal with. There was plenty of space for our party. The cabin was very clean and had plenty of bedding and the kitchen was well stocked. Also ample parking for everyone’s cars. The grill needed to be cleaned and the fan in the main room didn’t work, but that was it! We would most definitely stay here again anytime we are traveling to the Brainerd Lakes area!
A Great Cabin!
This was a great cabin for our group of guys to stay in. There were some minor things that I just wanted to throw out there for future renters:
The Golden Tee arcade game is still non-operational.
They have a PS2 at the cabin, not an Xbox 360 as listed in the cabin’s informational page.
They put a TV in the basement area with the pool table.
The pool cues appeared to be fixed and everything was there that was needed for pool games.
The main deck was bolted shut so we were unable to go out there. We had to use the secondary deck which worked just fine.
The information for the owner on the paperwork in the counter was not current, however they directed me to the new owner right away and they were very helpful. They adjusted the heat right away as it’s controlled remotely.
The kitchen seemed to be update and still led with lots of utensils and glasses. Enough for all of us.
Like the previous review, none of these were deal breakers and we still had a great time. Just wanted to let future renters/owners know.
I would also go back for future stays in the area.
Very clean and well stocked with linens. Plenty of space for 10 guests.
Enjoyed the stay, would stay here again given the opportunity.
The cabin is very spacious and was perfect for a weekend stay!
It was a great fit for our Bachlorette weekend with a big group of girls.
Beautiful Home but some things could be added/updated
Hello! Our group of 10 recently stayed at #489174 Deacon's Lodge Golf Course, Pelican Lake - Breezy Point, Mn. Having rented numerous cabins over the years for our group, this wasn't the worst but certainly wasn't the best property we have been to. Some highlights good and bad below:
-Nice bedrooms/beds with plenty of bedding.
-Great views to Pelican Lake from the main level (curtains/shades would be a nice touch as the sun is blinding through the large windows.)
-Lower level bar was a nice touch, as was the pool table.
-2nd Fridge/Freezer in laundry room was nice for overflow food & drinks.
-Charter cable TV and fast internet with good coverage from modem/router.
-On site laundry machines and LOTS of towels. We ran many loads during our stay so we had fresh towels each day.
-Bathrooms stocked with plenty of T.P. and trial sized shampoo, conditioner, body wash, soap, etc.
-Golden Tee arcade machine did not turn on at all. Bummer :(
-No TV's located in lower level game room/bar area. We brought two of our own w/ Apple TV's to stream football/hockey over the weekend.
-Many broken pool cues/tips/ball rack upon arrival. They had a tip repair kit and chalk so we made it work!
-Very dated furniture. The recliner on the main level was literally falling apart upon arrival.
-The kitchen is really only stocked for about 6-8 people. Would be nice if they added additional silverware, plates, bowls, cups, etc. so you can have one set washing while using an additional set.
-Kitchen missing LOTS of common items: no stockpot, no big strainer, no large bowls for salads, no mixers or hand masher for potatoes, no crockpots (brought our own). Really just need a proper inventory of kitchen items and add a few things that are missing.
-The fit & finish of the overall property. Doors and door stops were broken or missing knobs, electrical outlet plates missing/damages in rooms, window cranks broken or missing, high window above the sink in kitchen had a large crack through it upon arrival, and we found a set of used bedding stuffed in a closet upon arrival. (Ended up washing it ourselves).
None of the "bad" items were deal breakers by any means, but you can tell it's a rental property and the owners can only control so much when there infrequently. The cleaning/management company might want to tighten things up, but again without knowing it's hard to know things need to be addressed.
Hope my review helps--we would come back!

Big Pelican Lake Information – The Minnesota Fishing Vacation Destination Pelican Lake is one of Minnesota’s premier fishing lakes but in order to bring in your limit, you’re going to have to spend time learning the ropes and reefs. The bottom, fine for fish habitat, challenges the angler with an erratic mix of deep drops, sand bars, sunken islands and changeable weedlines. Your best bet is to hire a guide the first time out or watch other anglers to see where they congregate and record the spots for your own reference. Additionally, a depth finder and temperature gauge is almost a must. If you put it on the south end, find out where the line is at the ridge of the flats that extends immediately out into Jones Bay. That’s a good spot to begin. Pelican heats up later than many of the surrounding lakes so you won’t get much early action in the weed beds. Even when the water warms, this is a windy lake so it’s going to be a challenge to follow the weed lines. But that’s where you need to be. You may encounter two weed breaks, one at 10 to 15 feet and another at 20 to 25 feet. Either break is a good line to hunt. For early Bass, try the northeast bays Mousseau and Nelson – fishing the edge of the reeds with plastics and crankbaits. In summer, go deep and find the cabbage weeds along the bars and points. Jig minnows and leeches at 30 feet or even deeper. For Northerns, follow much the same pattern as for Bass. Troll or drift the cabbage beds at 20 feet with sucker minnows and/or spinners. For Walleyes, bait a Lindy rig with a shiner or fathead and drift the southern side of Halverson Bay north of the rock line or go far south and trace the two holes off Lincoln’s Point and then cast the weedlines along the southern shore. A big challenge here is the clarity of the water. To avoid spooking the fish, some recommend electric motors, drifting, casting exclusively or waiting for nightfall for Walleyes. One strong advisory, check a good navigation map before setting out onto Pelican. Note the locations where rock formations are just below the surface. Preparation will make you visit to Pelican both safe and rewarding. Big Pelican LakeDNR Comments Walleye numbers very high; size 10-21?. Northern Pike numbers good; many sizes present.
