About the property

3 Bedroom House Within Walking Distance Of Many Attractions

This Queen Anne Victorian home was built in 1897 and still maintains many original features but includes recent upgrades. Walk inside the enclosed porch and enter into the dining area (seating for 6-10) which also has a desk workspace. The living room is next to the dining area and has 11' ceilings with new furniture (sofa has pull-out queen bed) and flat screen TV with Netflix Instant Service and cable. The master bathroom has been completely remodeled and is very spacious. Walk through a walk-in-closet to the master bedroom, which has a new king-sized foam bed from Serta. The laundry room is conveniently located near the master bedroom. The kitchen is fully stocked and has stainless steel appliances and small eat-in area. A Keurig coffee maker is available at the coffee station as well as a French press and a standard drip coffee maker.

Upstairs there are two more bedrooms and a (small) full bathroom. The queen room has a crib if needed and the other bedroom has a set of twin bunk beds.

A queen air mattress can be provided upon request. Please contact the owner about parties larger than six.

Two cruiser bikes and a bike trailer are available for exploring the downtown area. Please contact owner about accessing them.

Please be aware that our staircase is historic and therefore rather steep. It may not be suitable for the elderly.

NOTE: If this property is already booked by someone else for the dates you require, please check out our other property - VRBO #592498. It is also located downtown and is similar in size.

Last minute weekday discounts might be available - contact owner for details if this applies to you.

Awesome Place

  • 5 of 5

This is a cool old house. Nothing but good things to say about this place.

1) The rooms are huge.

2) The place is clean.

3) Great back yard with a firepit and BBQ.

4) The location is so close to bars and places to eat.

I would stay here again next time I'm in Grand Junction.

Beautiful Historical Home

  • 5 of 5

Our stay at The Grey House felt like visiting family. Both the exterior and interior are beautiful, with features that add comfort and charm.

The open dining and kitchen area are perfect for gatherings. You have all you need in the nicely appointed kitchen. The living room has a large TV with availability to watch DVD's. There is a large bathroom and bedroom with a king sized bed downstairs with a large storage area between.

As clearly mentioned in the property description, the stairs are indeed step and narrow, not suited for everyone, but certainly not an issue for us.

The upstairs rooms have unique appeal with a full bathroom near both.

Another favorite is the backyard amenities which include decorative lights among grape vines over a wooden table and chairs. Next to the garage is a fire pit with chairs. You can use the BBQ and enjoy your meal in the dining room or outside under the lights.

The owners are wonderful, and are happy to answer questions and help if needed.

Knowing the history behind this charming home made our stay even more special. We're looking forward to our next trip to the Grand Junction area, and hopefully staying at The Grey House again.

Beautifully appointed home!

  • 5 of 5

This lovely home was such a treasure and a wonderful break after camping for several days. We were two families of three (two couples with one child each). The kids loved having their own room with special play areas and reading nooks. The kitchen was thoughtfully appointed and had everything we needed to prepare meals. We walked into town for shopping and one dinner, which was so convenient. The garden and outdoor dining areas were a huge plus. While we didn't take advantage of the fire pit, we did enjoy our breakfasts under the grape vines and we took full advantage of the grill. Some reviewers noted the steep staircase and air-conditioning woes. We didn't have any issues with either and felt that they only lent to the charm of this beautifully and thoughtfully renovated Victorian. We would definitely recommend this home to others and also would love to come back. What a wonderful find!

Very charming

  • 4 of 5

The house is in a great spot for a quick trip to Colorado National Monument Park and Moab. We enjoyed our three day getaway here. The house has everything you need and has very nice furnishings. A very comfortable place to chill out in Grand Junction.

Nicely equipped!

  • 4 of 5

This place had everything we needed. Bathrooms were nice and clean. Linens new and good quality. Kitchen well equipped.

Only problem was the window AC units couldn't handle the heat wave. The lower level AC is in a back hallway which is awkward because if someone goes into the bathroom and closes the door, the AC is blocked.

Upper level double bed not very comfortable.

Still an excellent stay and we highly recommend. Our deposit was returned within 24 hours.
