Quite cozy house

  • 4 of 5

I really enjoyed my stay here. I stayed here for 2 months this winter, skiing at Wolf Creek and just relaxing. The house is very cozy and the gas fireplace/stove adds to the coziness. Lots of sunlight in the living room, which was nice too. It is an older house and furnishings.

The house is just outside of town. It is super quick to get into town, but still feels private. There is a house and barn near by (maybe 150 feet), but no one is living there.

Del Norte is pretty quite, at least in the winter. There are three restaurants I know of. Three Barrel Brewery (good beer and pizza) is open the latest, till 9pm. There is a little bar in the Windsor Hotel, but that is the only bar in town. There is a grocery store, post office, bank, liquor stores, and outdoor sports store in town too.

Comfortable, clean and has everything you need!

  • 5 of 5

We stayed as a family, myself and son and his wife and two children. Everything we needed for our stay. The kitchen was well equipped with cooking utensils , and even some groceries.

This was just perfect, as every day we went on day trips around the area. Local grocery store was handy and even a couple eating places.

This cottage made our trip the best one ever. We will definitely be back and it was so much like home.

The area around there is so beautiful and peaceful, we relaxed and hated to head home.

Loved it!!

Awesome Home Away From Home!!!

  • 5 of 5

We have stayed at several VRBO houses and this was by far the best of them all! Everything you need was here, including Tupperware for leftovers, a crock pot, and even bath salts! No need to bring coffee-the Keurig coffee maker was well stocked with delicious coffe. We appreciated the wifi, which can be hard to find in rentals. The gas fireplace/stove was perfect for taking the chill off in the morning. The beds were all comfy and the closets were full of extra quilts and blankets if needed. We loved being out of town in a more private setting yet so close to amenities like the local grocery store and the health clinic (our daughter got sick - not from altitude but from a virus). The local restaurant serves up an awesome breakfast and the folks are really friendly. Having a full size washer and dryer was an extra nice bonus-meant we could pack light- and there was plenty of laundry detergent and dryer sheets on hand. It can be a bit tricky finding the place the first time, especially if arriving after dark as we did. If coming from Del Norte, after you pass the Rio Grande river, look for the black mailbox right before the metal side guard on the right hand side of the road. There is a "Beware of Dog" sign ( there is no dog though). It is the driveway on the left. The driveway is a circle one, which we appreciated with our big van, and the door lock is a coded one, so no need to worry about a key. We felt so at home here, we didn't want to leave! We will definitely be back!

Cozy and quaint space in Del Norte

  • 5 of 5

I enjoyed my time spent in the cozy and quaint space in Del Norte. It was perfect for my 2 week getaway to relax and enjoy Colorado. All was as described and in order and Nellie (my host) was great with communication and always made the extra effort to be considerate when handling my check-in/check-out and when arranging for some minor maintenance at the property.. The home is very quaint and reminds me of visiting my grandma with older furnishings and the old style kitchen. Cast Iron heater in the living room was more than adequate when needing to "turn up" the heat during the night. Late April snow dumped over a foot and I was glad to see someone show up to clear the drive so I could get out for a bit. Home is a great value and I would stay again.

pretty comfortable

  • 4 of 5

Home was comfortable and clean for the most part. My son and I has Asthma and we had a little breathing issue because the house had a little dusty smell, which I think can be taking care of with a little dusting now and then!!!! The own had water dispenser which is great due to the fact that the water in that area has a horrible smell, we couldn't even used it for brushing teeth. For the most part, we was there to experience real snow and we loved it.
