Peaceful Getaway in Virginia Wine Country

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I live in DC and were eager to get out of the city for a long weekend to Virginia's "wine country.” It was the first time we’d done more than a day trip to Middleburg, and we enjoyed staying in this wonderful home, which is on a horse farm. The house was very private and quiet, which was refreshing after a fun day of exploring the vineyards nearby. The home was comfortable and convenient with a spacious kitchen and living area as well as a flat screen TV. (Would have been nice to have 2 full baths instead of 1.5, but only a minor point for a short stay.) We were able to tour a few wineries in the area and enjoyed wine and cheese when we got back to the property, sitting on the house's outside deck. The idyllic setting (complete with beautiful horses in grassy fields of the property) was nothing but delightful. I would recommend to anyone looking for a relaxing recharge from city-life. We will definitely be back.
