About Steven A. Cappa

Married 34 years and now with 3 young adult sons and a lovely daughter-in-law, we've resided in this lovely mountain region for the past 14 years, formerly serving as Directors of Marble Retreat (www.marbleretreat.org), the lodge of which is located on the same property, 300' below the house. Writing a new chapter in our lives, Patti and I have returned to my first love of academia and, as a result we are now residing in the city of Grand Junction, CO and are wishing to share the peace, joy and beauty of our Marble home with others. As a hobby, Patti and I have remodeled much of the home with our own hands and continue to do so as time allows.

Steven A. Cappa purchased this chateau / country house in 2003

Why Steven A. Cappa chose Northwest

When one sees the home and the location, one readily understands why we are making it available to others as a vacation rental. The home is nicely appointed and cozy making it very comfortable for long afternoon naps or making a gourmet meal. The hot tub is a wonderful end to a long hike, day of fishing or cross country skiing. We believe the upper Crystal Valley is one loveliest in the state. Our home's remote and very private location, surrounded by towering peaks and pines, says it all!

What makes this chateau / country house unique

It is a modern, up-to-date mountain home with most all the amenities, save for cell phone service and Internet!

Loved it!

We had a wonderful stay! The cabin was very well equipped and clean. It is large there is plenty of room. We enjoyed the jacuzzi. The cabin is isolated. Very beautiful views.

This property delivered MORE than we expected. Very secluded with beautiful mountainous views, comfortable and simply felt like home. I have stayed in several properties over the years and never have I felt so welcomed by the owners. I highly recommend this property and will certainly refer my family and friends. Thanks!

Beautiful Winter Get-Away!

  • 5 of 5

The views from the home are simply breathtaking. Bring your camera!! Went snowshoeing, then visited the free hot springs (penny hot springs) about 20 minutes away from the house (word to the wise if you are traveling with children, Penny Hot Springs appears to be clothing optional...use your judgement on that one). Saw a herd of elk not far from the driveway to the house...a bull hanging out with his ladies. Relaxed by the fire, enjoyed wonderful meals from the fully equiped kitchen, and slept like babies. Wonderful in every way.

Beautiful Home would definitely return.

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful family get away. We drove in from Houston Texas and it was well worth the drive. Steve was kind and very professional every time I communicated with him. The scenery is beautiful there at the home and around the area. If you are going in winter we were told to take a 4x4 and you really needed it to be able to travel safely around town. We bought the kids a couple snow boards at a resale shop in canondale and they had fun just going down the hill there in front of the home. Lots of fun activities can be found around Marble.

In summary it is a great place to get away from the busy city and reconnect with the family.
