Our 2 bedroom, 2 1/2 bathroom condo, recently remodeled throughout, offers gorgeous white water ocean and mountain views from the kitchen, family room and master bedroom. Our beautifully furnished and decorated unit comes equipped with a high chair, portable crib, stair safety gate, cooler, beach chairs as well as a variety of outdoor toys. Building 3 is less than a 1 minute walk to the scenic and relaxing Manualoha pool as well as the Poipu Kai tennis center. Walk less than 3 minutes to one of Kauai's best body surfing and boogie boarding beaches, Brennecke's Beach, as well as Poipu Park, the gateway to beautiful Poipu Beach. Sea turtles, monk seals and spinner dolphins share this paradise. During one visit, we could even see whales spouting offshore from Brennecke's! We are within a 5 minutes' walk to several family-friendly restaurants, as well as higher-end, romantic choices at the Hyatt. If you'd rather not cook in the gourmet kitchen or grill on the outdoor barbecues available to you, a 3 minute drive (or a 20-25 minute walk) gets you to several food options (Keoki's Paradise, Puka Dog, Island Taco, Starbucks) in Poipu Shopping Village or a 6-7 minute drive gets you to the new The Shops at Kukui`ula (Tortilla Republic, Bubba Burgers...to name a few). Kalapaki Joe's, a sports bar that has great happy hour specials and is very family-friendly as well, is on property, and has breakfast, lunch and dinner and lots of beers on tap, as well as several big screens for sports viewing (watched our Warriors there!). Our favorite restaurants are down the Kaumualii Highway, in Kalaheo--a 15 minute drive to the north (love Brick Oven Pizza and more upscale, the Kalaheo Cafe & Coffee Company).

We have also upgraded the standard cable package to include the Sports Pass and our phones are now VoIP, which is Voice over Internet Protocol, which gives you free calls to Canada and within the US!

Kauai is just paradise--and Poipu is known as the sunny side of the island. Personally, we like to hike, take advantage of the beautiful running paths, swim in the warm Pacific Ocean and play tennis at the under-utilized, but well-kept tennis courts. About Kevin Ryan

We're Kevin & Sandy from the S.F. Bay Area. We have two 'kids', now both happily married and having families of their own. I, Kevin, fell in love with the islands in 1980 while studying at the UH Manoa campus in Honolulu. Over the years we made several trips to the Islands, getting to know the unique differences between each island. Eventually we settled on Kauai as our favorite. Although still employed in the foreseeable future, we look forward to when we can spend longer blocks of time at our island home...together, with friends & family, and we especially see Manualoha 306 as a great place for our (soon-to-be-born) and future grandchildren.

Why Kevin Ryan chose South Shore

We first vacationed in Poipu (Manualoha Bldg #4) in 2000. We appreciated the great pool, with beautiful views, the fun of boogie-boarding Brennecke's Beach, the gentleness of the lagoon at the end of Poipu Beach Park leading up to Poipu Beach, the relaxed low rise development (3 stories max.) which offered uncluttered,expansive greens where our kids could play. It was during that visit we decided if we were going to buy on the Islands, it would be here in Kauai at Poipu Kai-Manualoha. Four years later we decided to make the purchase.

Not what we expected...just ok

The updates that have been done to the unit are nice and the ocean view is spectacular, but most of the living room and bedroom furnishings are very worn and the lack of a/c in the second bedroom was more challenging than anticipated. The downstairs where the bedrooms are is very dark and gets stiflingly hot even with the master bedroom a/c unit on. As mentioned, the view was spectacular, but we were unable to enjoy it as much as we would have liked to because we were scared to use the patio furniture that was rusted through. If the owners would repaint the unit, invest in new furnishings and an a/c for the second bedroom then we would consider staying there there again....otherwise we would not rent it again.

Fantastic!

Beautiful Condo in a perfect spot! First off, it was much bigger than we expected, plenty of room for 4 adults and 2 kids. Great view of the ocean from the lanai and it's so close you can hear the waves, we ate all our breakfasts outside. All the furnishings were top notch and we weren't lacking for anything. We made good use of the provided snorkel equipment and body boards as well. The location is really perfect. The pool is right around the corner, brand new, has a gorgeous view, and we were often the only people using it. A 5 min walk puts you at Poipu beach! I would definitely stay here again, highly recommend!!

We had a wonderful week in Kauai & loved staying in this condo. So close to the beaches!

Fantastic location! Easy walk to the beaches, nice pools, beautiful landscaping. The condo was very nice & had everything we needed. The stairs might be difficult for older folks but they allow you to be high enough to have a gorgeous view of the ocean. The addition of A/C was terrific for us since we had a very hot week. Note that the A/C units are only in living rm & master - not in room with twins, which was pretty toasty but I think we had an unusually warm week. We saw monk seals, huge turtles & even dolphins all right at Poipu Beach! We would definitely stay here again & will recommend it to anyone we know who is planning a trip to Kauai. Owners were also very quick to respond to any ideas questions. Great place!

AWESOME Condo and Service, Great Location - Simply Excellent!

We stayed in this condo mid-March for a week and were so happy we chose this place! Everything was very nice - furnishings, beach items, etc. The owner uses Suite-Paradise as their property manager. The process to get the keys was quick and easy and the staff was very welcoming, friendly and helpful. Their office is very close to the condo - you could even walk there in 2 minutes. The condo was furnished with enough paper towels and TP and even included hand soap, small containers of shampoo/conditioner and a couple of Tide pods. Enough to get you started - which is nice for those arriving late. It was a nice touch as we've stayed in places where nothing was provided.

Location - I did a lot of research trying to figure out where on the island to stay. First, Kauai is by far one of the most beautiful places we've ever been - lush, tropical, relaxed - awesome. After exploring the entire island, we felt Poipu was an excellent choice. The grounds are beautiful, the pool is amazing - great view of the ocean, excellent amenities. It's 200 feet from the condo. Both beaches are very close - Brennecke's and Poipu. Very nice, great water for snorkeling and boogie boarding (condo had both of these to use). We had considered a place further away from the beach at a lower cost, but were extremely happy we spent a little more to be closer. We ended up going to the beach more since we were so close. Favorite place to eat was the Garden Island Grille in Koloa!

The views from the condo were amazing. The first few days of our stay were a little warm without any trade winds. We were very happy to have the portable A/C units to cool things off in the evening without the winds. The one upstairs is a little undersized for the area, but adequate to get you through the hotter days. Nice to have. When the trade winds returned, we didn't need them at all - the breeze was cool and refreshing.

We loved this condo and working with the owner was excellent. Our deposit was quickly refunded and he communicated with us very well. Thank you Kevin.

We'd give this Condo and owner 10 out of 10 for our stay and would definitely consider staying here again because of the location, service and nice condo.

The only recommendation I have is the stairs inside are a little tricky with several landings. You have to be pretty careful not to miss a step/landing. We put sticky notes on steps to identify the step downs. Maybe grab some cheap glow sticks - would work well for night.

This is our 3rd stay at this unit and we love it. Great location, quiet, and has everything in it that you could want for. Owners are helpful and responsive with any questions answered quickly.

OUTCLEANING CHARGES: As you will note below, out clean charges vary with the size of the unit. When you depart, a professional cleaning service comes to wash the balance of linens and towels and prepare for the next visitors. We expect the rental unit to be left in a “neat” condition. These charges are subject to change because of incremental price increases of the cleaning staff.
DEPOSITS: A security/damage deposit is required at time of your reservation. If deposit is not received within 3 days, your reservation will automatically cancel. Refunds are after departure in most instances (there are some properties where we must wait up to 45 days for the phone bills to be verified) less extraordinary cleaning, missing items, long distance charges or any damages that exceed normal wear and tear.
CANCELLATIONS: Notification of cancellation must be received at least 60 days prior to your planned arrival. (120 days notification from December 15 through January 15). All cancellations are subject to a $50 cancellation fee. A cancellation notification of less than 60 days (120 day holiday season) results in forfeiture of full rent. Guests are responsible for the entire time booked. No rentals refunds are given for early departure or late cancellation.
OCCUPANCY: Occupancy is limited to number of confirmed guests. Receptions, luaus, and parties of any kind are strictly prohibited.
PAYMENT: All properties will require full payment 60-days prior to arrival (120-days during holiday season). Payment to be made by e-check or credit card via VRBO secure payments.
LATE CHECK-OUTS: are subject to availability, charges, and requires at least 72 hours’ notice.
