Our 2 bedroom, 2 1/2 bathroom condo, recently remodeled throughout, offers gorgeous white water ocean and mountain views from the kitchen, family room and master bedroom. Our beautifully furnished and decorated unit comes equipped with a high chair, portable crib, stair safety gate, cooler, beach chairs as well as a variety of outdoor toys. Building 3 is less than a 1 minute walk to the scenic and relaxing Manualoha pool as well as the Poipu Kai tennis center. Walk less than 3 minutes to one of Kauai's best body surfing and boogie boarding beaches, Brennecke's Beach, as well as Poipu Park, the gateway to beautiful Poipu Beach. Sea turtles, monk seals and spinner dolphins share this paradise. During one visit, we could even see whales spouting offshore from Brennecke's! We are within a 5 minutes' walk to several family-friendly restaurants, as well as higher-end, romantic choices at the Hyatt. If you'd rather not cook in the gourmet kitchen or grill on the outdoor barbecues available to you, a 3 minute drive (or a 20-25 minute walk) gets you to several food options (Keoki's Paradise, Puka Dog, Island Taco, Starbucks) in Poipu Shopping Village or a 6-7 minute drive gets you to the new The Shops at Kukui`ula (Tortilla Republic, Bubba Burgers...to name a few). Kalapaki Joe's, a sports bar that has great happy hour specials and is very family-friendly as well, is on property, and has breakfast, lunch and dinner and lots of beers on tap, as well as several big screens for sports viewing (watched our Warriors there!). Our favorite restaurants are down the Kaumualii Highway, in Kalaheo--a 15 minute drive to the north (love Brick Oven Pizza and more upscale, the Kalaheo Cafe & Coffee Company).

We have also upgraded the standard cable package to include the Sports Pass and our phones are now VoIP, which is Voice over Internet Protocol, which gives you free calls to Canada and within the US!

Kauai is just paradise--and Poipu is known as the sunny side of the island. Personally, we like to hike, take advantage of the beautiful running paths, swim in the warm Pacific Ocean and play tennis at the under-utilized, but well-kept tennis courts. About Kevin Ryan

We're Kevin & Sandy from the S.F. Bay Area. We have two 'kids', now both happily married and having families of their own. I, Kevin, fell in love with the islands in 1980 while studying at the UH Manoa campus in Honolulu. Over the years we made several trips to the Islands, getting to know the unique differences between each island. Eventually we settled on Kauai as our favorite. Although still employed in the foreseeable future, we look forward to when we can spend longer blocks of time at our island home...together, with friends & family, and we especially see Manualoha 306 as a great place for our (soon-to-be-born) and future grandchildren.

Why Kevin Ryan chose South Shore

We first vacationed in Poipu (Manualoha Bldg #4) in 2000. We appreciated the great pool, with beautiful views, the fun of boogie-boarding Brennecke's Beach, the gentleness of the lagoon at the end of Poipu Beach Park leading up to Poipu Beach, the relaxed low rise development (3 stories max.) which offered uncluttered,expansive greens where our kids could play. It was during that visit we decided if we were going to buy on the Islands, it would be here in Kauai at Poipu Kai-Manualoha. Four years later we decided to make the purchase.

Great stay by the beach

We had a great stay in Manualoha 306 with our 9 month-old son. Location and amenities were exactly as described and we really appreciated not having to bring our own baby gear. The kitchen and living area is spacious and very comfortable. We liked that the living area is separated enough from the bedrooms for quiet napping. The kitchen is fully equipped and everything is in excellent shape. The TV is new (a Smart TV, which was a pleasant surprise) and it was great to have WiFi and VoIP phone to use. The unit shows its age a bit, but has been updated and very well maintained. The condo had everything we needed and made a great home for the 10 days we were there.

The nearest pool was closed for maintenance while we were there but we didn't miss it. It's only a 3-min walk to the kiddie beach at Poipu Beach Park, and 1 min to the other pool.

We got late check out for a reasonable fee and were able to stay as late as we needed to, which made travelling with a baby that much easier. We will definitely stay again next time we go to Poipu.

Great location and great view

My family had a great stay here (2 adults and a 16 month old). This was a great base for exploring Kauai and convenient to plenty of nearby activities too. The property is extremely well equipped from toiletries, kitchen equipment, books and games for all ages, and plenty of beach gear to borrow. You will also find anything you might need for families to accomodate kids of all ages (high chairs/ pack & play for the littlest ones to bed rails for bigger ones). There may have been one night where we were barely uncomfortable without A/C but fans are plentiful and the breeze is great.

The view and sunsets from the balconies are great. The pool is super convenient to get to. Walking distance to a few restaurants and Brennecke's beach. A short drive to plenty of other beaches, dining, and shopping options.

Communication with the owner was prompt, helpful, and friendly.

We had a great stay and would stay here again.

Absolutely phenomenal and amazingly comfortable

What an amazing place. Very clean when we got there, unbelievable spacious, and very quiet. The kitchen is fantastic and has everything you could want. The beds are very comfortable and the showers, especially the massage shower haha, are excellent. The views from the 2 balconies are amazing, especially the top one, so have the camera handy. Also there's a cupboard full of beach toys and such for both the children and us adults which came in very handy. Then there's the pool !! Once you can finally leave this comfortable place the pool is literally a 20 second walk from the door and and immaculately maintained and offers awesome views. Now the beaches ! The first one is a 2 minute walk away from the front door and Brennickes, the next one along, is another minute walk which is great for kids, snorkelling and for a surf just look to your right. Surfing there offers a left and a right happy days ! For groceries I thoroughly recommend Sueokas in Koloa, you can't wrong. So to cap it off if you want the best relaxing holiday in the most comfortable place close to everything look no further ! As we will definitely be coming back here

Amazing stay!

The views were perfect to wake up to! Great location to the beach, pool, restaurants and shopping. Loved the home but I would agree with the precious comments - A/C would have made the stay even better! I don't know how I missed that while booking but glad we choose this unit anyway. Sounds like A/C is coming so we'll book again.

Trade winds were nice and you don't get a lot of direct sun in the evening if the shades are down so that's perfect.

Parking is simple! Master bathroom is perfect! Kitchen is big and perfect for cooking or just hanging out.

Other than the lack of A/C (being from Seattle we're not use to the climate so it was warm for us) it was exactly what we needed!

I think one of my favorite things is looking in that mirror in the master bedroom, and instead of just seeing MY face, is seeing that awesome ocean view reflected in the mirror as well! Hahaha! Wonderful Location and Views

My girlfriend and I stayed at this lovely home for five nights in early August. The location and setting is wonderful. Easy walk to nearby beaches where we enjoyed snorkeling, stand up paddle boarding and other activities. Also a close walk to a number of good restaurants. The condo itself has great views of the ocean from almost anywhere inside the home, and especially from the two lanais. Very private and quiet, even when on the lanais. This condo has one of the best locations in the development. Communications with the owner was easy, and he always replied promptly. We are already talking about our return to our favorites island and now our favorite place to stay.

We're staying there in a few weeks, replacing couches....changing out shower fixtures....you know, the "fun" stuff that comes with ownership--but I can't wait to watch the clouds come over the palis (mountains) as I make coffee....and have dinner on the lanai as we watch the waves hit the rocks. Glad you enjoyed Kauai and Manualoha 306! But you know beauty--you ski Utah! Such a beautiful state as well!

OUTCLEANING CHARGES: As you will note below, out clean charges vary with the size of the unit. When you depart, a professional cleaning service comes to wash the balance of linens and towels and prepare for the next visitors. We expect the rental unit to be left in a “neat” condition. These charges are subject to change because of incremental price increases of the cleaning staff.
DEPOSITS: A security/damage deposit is required at time of your reservation. If deposit is not received within 3 days, your reservation will automatically cancel. Refunds are after departure in most instances (there are some properties where we must wait up to 45 days for the phone bills to be verified) less extraordinary cleaning, missing items, long distance charges or any damages that exceed normal wear and tear.
CANCELLATIONS: Notification of cancellation must be received at least 60 days prior to your planned arrival. (120 days notification from December 15 through January 15). All cancellations are subject to a $50 cancellation fee. A cancellation notification of less than 60 days (120 day holiday season) results in forfeiture of full rent. Guests are responsible for the entire time booked. No rentals refunds are given for early departure or late cancellation.
OCCUPANCY: Occupancy is limited to number of confirmed guests. Receptions, luaus, and parties of any kind are strictly prohibited.
PAYMENT: All properties will require full payment 60-days prior to arrival (120-days during holiday season). Payment to be made by e-check or credit card via VRBO secure payments.
LATE CHECK-OUTS: are subject to availability, charges, and requires at least 72 hours’ notice.
