Grew up on Skegemog Lake with parent's cottage. Probably my best memories of both my child and adulthood. Thus, I understand what it takes to make a vacation memorable.
Greg purchased this House in 2013
Why Greg chose Rapid City
Bernie's Place is smack dab in the middle of the Chain-O-Lakes, whether you're content to be right where you are with swimming, fishing, waterskiing, kayaking, etc.; or want to visit Torch Lake sandbar, or take a boat ride to Elk Rapids, this property has you right in the center of it all!
What makes this House unique
Attached to all Chain-O-Lakes lakes and activities. Few hundred yards away from nature trial, boat launch, and marinas. 2 bass fishing holes are located right in front of the property. If you GoogleEarth this address, you can see the fishing holes right out front. Further, up until these fishing spots, is a waist deep sandbar. Perfect for keeping a close eye on the kids, or playing Frisbee and other water activities.
Pool / Spa
Great little cottage
We really enjoyed seeing all of the fall colors and leaves.
Quiet and Peaceful
We enjoyed our stay in Bernie's place. Wooded setting away from the crowds. Perfect for a family or for a couple. Amazing views from the deck. A deck with a picnic table to dine outdoors. We had our morning coffee on the deck. Peaceful way to start the day.
Close to Traverse City for shopping and dining.
Watching the Sunset over the calm waters ends a perfect day in Michigan.
Such a nice place for a small family vacation. Great view of the sunset, cozy beach area, furnished house with just about everything you could need during your stay... we have no complaints. Greg was very courteous and helpful during our initial welcome and when we had trouble with the shower head (resolved within 24 hours). Felt like we were taken care of very well, and our only caveat for a complaint would be that we couldn't stay longer!
Great family. Treated the home as if it were their own. Welcome back anytime! :)
Nice location and nice place
A very nice place to stay with 7 to 8 people and reasonably priced. Great series of lakes to boat in, so if you like boating on different waters (access to Skegemog, Torch and Elk Lakes) this place is for you. Nice views of the setting sun and very quiet. Internet and TV works well along with the DVD player.
Outstanding people. When they left the lakehouse, it looked like they had never even been there. Spotless. Couldn't ask for a better group of people. They are welcome in my home any time.
Greeted by owners. Very friendly. Took us for a tour and gave tips for a pleasant stay. Bottle of local wine on the counter when we arrived. The place was very clean and ready to go for a nice stay.
Outstanding guest. We walked in after they left, and you couldn't even tell they were there. Friendly, kind, and courteous family. They can come back anytime! Exactly the kind of people we want here.
Beautiful frontage, comfortable house, helpful owner!
House is very well-equipped, comfortable, and beautifully decorated – – lots of wood and stone, so it feels very "up north."
Frontage is plenty roomy, and very well taken care of.
As for Greg, you couldn't ask for a more upbeat, flexible, or helpful owner.
Our family of 7 had such a special time there. Many memories made!
Sweet people. Enjoyed having them, and they are welcome here anytime. :)
