About Timothy Donnellon
My wife and I (top center) took ownership of and renovated this property in 2010. This picture of our extended family was taken a few years before on the driveway. The house was built by my great grandfather, a successful boilermaker who had immigrated from Ireland when he was 2 years old.
Timothy Donnellon purchased this House in 2010
Why Timothy Donnellon chose Old Orchard Beach
Although we live outside of Maine, it was important to us to keep the property in our family, and make it available for generations to come. We made a number or renovations to update the house, satisfy building codes, and improve comfort while maintaining the historic beauty of the home.
What makes this House unique
The wrap around porch has been a key feature of this house since its initial construction. Recent renovations have replaced the floorboards, walls and window/screens, so that the ocean breezes can be captured, and the porch can be used year round. The Brisson Street side of the porch looks straight down to the sparkling blue Atlantic waters in Saco Bay. A large grassy backyard and picnic area, complete with gas grill, allows you to spread out throughout your own private picnic area in the rear of the house. There is also ample parking spaces on a large paved driveway that runs to the back of the property. The property has 5 separate bedrooms all upstairs, with 12 total sleeping slots (not counting two couches on the first floor), two queens, two twins, and one 4 bed bunkroom (kids love this room). Each room has a separate door (the four bed bunkroom must be accessed 'railroad style' - accessible through the adjacent bedroom)

Location was great! Our family enjoyed the house. Great back yard and plenty of parking!!
Great house for a large family gathering. Steps from beach and a short walk to pier and shopping. Outdoor shower is great for everyone especially the kids.
Glad you enjoyed your stay! We always love hearing from families who have enjoyed the house as much as we do. Hope you come back and visit again.
This summer house is very well located and, yet, very quiet during the night. We were 10 well accommodated persons with ample rooms and good Wifi. Dinning and family rooms, the porch are very nice and the kitchen very spacious with a good size refrigerator. The outside shower is very convenient. I would just suggest to renew all the mattresses of the bunker beds and put some ladders for upper beds. We had a great family time and I would recommend it easily.
this house has lots of room. Great for a large family. The wrap around porch is the best. Some of our group slept out there. steps to the beach. kitchen had everything you need. Nice big new refrigerator. The outside shower was awesome. The old antique piano was a plus especially seeing we had someone in our group who could play. Definitely recommend this place.
So glad your family enjoyed the house - Hope to have you back next year!
Minutes from town (walking minutes); seconds from the beach; years of memories!
This place has it all. We had a group of 9, but we could have easily accommodated more. Parking was not a problem, which at most places it would be. (We had 4 cars)
The house itself suited us perfectly as it has all the amenities and as mentioned before, ample room. Wifi and cable TV were perfect for my teenage boys (although we left the TV on Shark Week pretty much all week...why would we not?).
The main part of town was easily within walking distance and as a bonus, there's a convenient convenience store a brick's throw from the house. (Please don't try to validate my claim with an actual brick)
The only possible negative would be a train (and it's tooting) that rumbles through Old Orchard Beach several times a day. I'm sure the whole town hears it, especially the properties adjacent to the tracks, which thankfully this house is not.
This was our first time staying at this house and OOB, and we would love to stay here again. I would highly recommend!
Thanks for your kind words, Josh, we are all so glad that your family enjoyed the house and had a great vacation!
Great house, few steps from the beach
This house was perfect for our group of 12. Bed for everyone (no sofa bed here!) and plenty of seating in the dining room. We were able to eat all at the same time, with plenty of space for everyone. Also, the kitchen is fully equipped, with enough pots and pans, so we were able to cook for an army. There is many place to hangout: backyard, living room and the HUGE porch! And, the most important: the house is few steps from the nice sandy beach.
I highly recommend this place, it is a great value.
Beautiful beach, great porch, fun house!!
Love the rustic charm of this beach house, walking to the beach and back easily if you forget something, evenings on the porch listening to the waves crash. Close to the excitement of the downtown area but far enough away to feel the peace of the beach. We barely moved our car all week.
Thanks for your comments. It makes us smile to see our guests enjoy the place as much as we do - hope to see you back soon!
Ask us about local kayak trips - we have info about a number of excellent ones, both family friendly and challenging. Fishing trips can be arranged as well from nearby Pine Point or Camp Ellis. for Bicycling - the Eastern Mountain Trail, a Bicycle trail which runs 55 miles from the Maine border to Portland, is accessible from Portland Ave, about 1 mile from the house. (search the web under ' Eastern Mountain Trail' for more information)
