About Carolyn & Terry ONeill

Terry and Carolyn O'Neill, Big Sky, Montana residents for 25 years.

Carolyn & Terry ONeill purchased this house in 1991

Why Carolyn & Terry ONeill chose Gallatin Gateway

Terry and I were on our way to Yellowstone National Park when we spent the night in Big Sky, Montana. Needless to say, the next day was a glorious July day and we immediately fell in love with Big Sky. After extending our stay another 4 days, we began planning our next trip to Montana to ski Lone Mountain. That January we knew it had won our hearts and we began our search for the perfect property. In 1991 we purchased our thirteen acre paradise on the Gallatin River. It was the best decision we have ever made!!

Guestbook comments from the manager

It will be hard to leave tomorrow!! This is definitely God's country!! Everyday has a highlight. My favorite part was early mornings in the nice, warm hot tub with my eyes shut listening to the river roar through and listening to the birds. Also, taking nap outside on the lounge chair wrapped up in a blanket. We also invited Carolyn & Terry over for dinner...being the gourmet chef my husband fixed an outstanding meal of salmon, shrimp, trout, chicken, potatoes, beans followed by a bottle of wine. It was such a blessing to have them over. Very, very beautiful people...loved the conversations...so down to earth and loving. This home is breathtaking. We hope to be back in the future.

Mountain retreat

  • 5 of 5

This was our second trip to the same home in two years and there can be none better. My previous review talked about sitting by the musical rush of the Gallatin and it was even better this year. We fished, rafted, and visited Yellowstone and just relaxed to the beautiful scenery. I think we are hooked and my wife is already planning our next rip back. The O'Neill's are wonderful hosts. Thank you for allowing us to share your home. Bill and Stancy Gullung

Relaxing on the Gallatin River!

  • 5 of 5

We had a fabulous time relaxing on the Gallatin River. What an ideal piece of property - if you want to relax, this is the place! The owners have all the amenities in place for everyday living and the home is nicely decorated and clean. We will be back to relax again! The one surprise we had was the home directly across the river - it was not an issue but hadn't seen it any of the photos so just good to know. Great restaurants in the area to enjoy and so close - it is the perfect vacation spot!

Amazing property

  • 5 of 5

We loved our 4th of July week visit to this beautiful home. Well appointed kitchen and three bathrooms were plenty for our group of five adults. We also enjoyed grilling on the deck and using the hot tub after a tough day of hiking some of Big Sky's challenging trails. Centrally located for all your outdoor activities. We took day trips to Yellowstone and also enjoyed an awesome rafting adventure down the Gallatin River.

Owner's Response: We know there was a lot of celebrating while you were at our guesthouse...wedding anniversary, college graduation, etc. but you managed to hike some great places. My favorite is Beehive Basin although it seems to get harder and harder for us each year. It was nice to hear that was one of your favorites too. We are glad you and your family enjoyed Big Sky.

Fabulous property

  • 5 of 5

Our party consisted of 4 adults. We arrived June 4, 2017 staying for 6 days at this special home. The home is spacious and very comfortable. We thoroughly enjoyed relaxing on the deck with our coffee in the morning and then in the hot tub in the evening - both with the sound of the Gallatin River as it flowed by. It doesn't get any better! Carolyn and Terry's attention to detail is reflected in all aspects of the house. They responded immediately to any question we had.

We booked a full day tour of Yellowstone and took the lift tour to the top of Lone Mountain as well as some short driving trips to check out the wildlife. It is the perfect spot to experience the grandeur of the Big Sky area.

We would definitely recommend this property.
