About the property

3 Bedrooms 1 Bathroom Absolutely Lake Front

BOOK NOW FOR THE BEAUTIFUL FALL COLORS!!

The cabin is two stories and has 3 bedrooms-one double bed downstairs, one king bed upstairs and one with two twin beds. There is a sitting area upstairs between the two bedrooms that has a fold out futon with a nice thick full size mattress and a tv and video player. The main floor is an open floor plan with the living room area, dining area and kitchen. There is a very efficient wood stove for heat plus wall heaters upstairs and downstairs. The kitchen is well equipped with plenty of dishes, flatware, cookware and small appliances. The bathroom is located downstairs. A washer and dryer are also on the main floor. The cabin has a very peaceful and comfortable feeling. Outside there is a brick patio and a fireplace with benches for seating while roasting marshmallows. The property is 156 feet of lakefront located on a 3/4 acre parcel which affords a feeling of privacy. Lake Wenatchee is just a few steps from the deck. Any time of day, you can enjoy the closeness of the lake and take a walk out on the rock jetty to enjoy your morning coffee or evening beverage. Lakeside dining on the deck can't be beat. The views of Dirty Face Mountain and up and down the lake are amazing. The sunsets over the mountains quite often rival those seen in Hawaii. There is a cove where a boat or other watercraft can be safely tied up.

The Fall colors in late Sept and Oct can be observed up and down the lake from the large deck. The short drive into Leavenworth and Plain will give you a real show of red, orange and yellow of the turning leaves. The Christmas Lighting Festival in Leavenworth is always a popular event, so book early for December in order to be sure you are able to attend one of these weekends, and then return home to the quiet and calm of the lake where you can relax by the fire (indoor or outdoor) after a day of festivities.

About Karen Nyberg

Bruce and Karen Nyberg: Bruce grew up in New Hampshire and always dreamed of owning a lake cabin. Karen grew up in Walla Walla, WA and dreamed of moving to CA. We both ended up in the San Francisco Bay Area. We were married in 1972 and have lived in our home in Felton in the redwoods on a creek for over 40 years. Bruce has been a general contractor for 45 years and Karen runs the office. Our two daughters and their families love going to the cabin for our family get together every summer. The two of us go up in the Spring to do any necessary repairs and maintenance and then again in the Fall, which is beautiful at the lake

Karen Nyberg purchased this cabin in 2004

Why Karen Nyberg chose North Central Cascades

Karen's brother and sister-in-law bought a cabin on Lake Wenatchee over 30 years ago and we spent time there with them and loved it. They have since re-built the cabin into their permanent home. When the cabin nearby them became available to purchase, it was without hesitation that we contacted the owner and made a deal. Bruce's dream came true! It is a long way from home to get there, but the trip is well worth it and we go as often as we can, which isn't often enough for us. Every summer we have a family gathering that includes boating, skiing, fishing, tubing, and just floating around the lake on the inflatables.

What makes this cabin unique

One of the best things about this cabin is the location. From inside the cabin all you can see past the deck railing is the lake and the mountains. The lake is literally a few steps from the deck stairs. The large windows in the living room allow an incredible view even in rainy weather, which is one of our favorite times to be there, with the fire going and curled up on the recliner with a good book. Summer is always fun on the lake, so book early for next year, especially August when sockeye season opens. Fall is a great time for a quiet retreat and the weather is still warm. Book early for Oktoberfest! These weekends are very popular and always get booked in advance. The cabin being only a 20 minute drive from Leavenworth is a calm respite after the festivities of the day. Sometimes towards the end of October Dirty Face gets the first dusting of snow. The lake otters, ducks, loons, osprey and eagles are always a special treat to watch. The Christmas Lighting Festival in Leavenworth during December is lovely and of course, coming back to the peace and serenity of the cabin and a cup of hot chocolate to further celebrate the coming holiday.

Guestbook comments from the owner

Hi, Karen. We did have a great weekend, thank you! Being so close to the water was the best part and I loved falling asleep with the window open and hearing the water lapping on the shore. Our four legged friend had a ball retrieving sticks from the water.

Everything was very nice, your place is cozy and comfortable, which made it very relaxing as well.

Thanks again, I hope we can visit again.

Notes:
The town of Leavenworth is a 20 minute drive from the cabin. Check the town calendar online for the upcoming festivals and events, such as Oktoberfest and the Christmas Lighting Festival in Dec. Don't miss the Fall colors in Oct, Thanksgiving, Christmas or New Year's Eve on the lake. After spending a day in town, it's always good to get back to the peacefulness of the lake cabin. There are plenty of places to go wine tasting nearby in Plain at Plain Cellars, Leavenworth and Wenatchee. Golf is available in Leavenworth and the Wenatchee area as well as 5 minutes down the road at Kahler Glen. The summer months are fantastic for boating, jet skiing, hiking, fishing, tubing, windsurfing, kite boarding, etc. all right at the lake or close by. Cross country skiing, snow shoeing and snowmobiling are all available close by. Stevens Pass Resort is about 40 minutes away for skiing and snowboarding. The wildlife viewing at the cabin includes moose, deer, otters, chipmunks, eagles, osprey & swans

Highly recommend. 1st class experience. Peace, quiet, wilderness, relaxation and positive memories.

  • 5 of 5

This is a beutiful property that is tucked away in the wilderness. There was pleanty of privacy between any neighbors. The view was spectacular and we loved the sound of the water splashing on the shore. The house was very cozy and had everything one would need. Everything was also very clean and cared for. We hadso much fun on our stay that we would love to have an opportunity to come back. It was a little cool when we atayed but the wood atove and firepot outside kept us warm. Lots of fun sitting around and relaxing, fishing and making memories. We all would highly recommend this location for a get away. Loved the aign that said "dont leave any food outaide because bears visit ". Exactly what the doctor ordered. Thank you for letting us wnjoy your private home. Beutiful

Beautiful, peaceful location!

  • 5 of 5

This was a great experience. The cabin was well maintained and comfortable. The view can't be beat! The lake and surrounding area are beautiful and the state park at the end of the lake has a lot to offer (we were here in October and some things weren't available, but the trails and park itself are beautiful). Definitely recommend!

Cute lakefront cabin

  • 5 of 5

The cabin has been rebuilt with modern appliances. The compact floorplan is ideal for a couple, with extra bedrooms available for children. Leavenworth isn't very far away, if you fancy a restaurant, but the kitchen is well-equipped and there is no reason you can't prepare home-cooked meals. We plan to stay here again.

Owner's Response: So many of our guests want to return for another stay once they have experienced the comfort and peace of the cabin and the excellent location right on the water-and many do, even booking a year in advance to be sure they get their favorite dates! Always very happy to hear that someone has enjoyed the cabin so much that they want to come back.

Our stay at this cabin was so lovely. It is in a great location on the lake with incredible views to take in at any time of day. Its close to a lot of attractions and hikes - though we loved the house so much we found it difficult to leave!

Owner's Response: The waterfront is what is so special about this place. Total accessibility to the lake and all it has to offer. Or just sitting on the big deck with a cup of coffee, glass of wine or a beer and thoroughly enjoying the view. And when you can't go outside, the cabin is the perfect cozy place to be curled up with a good book and viewing the lake from the large picture windows.

Awesome Family Retreat!!

  • 5 of 5

Our Family has been staying at this cabin for the last four years, it is the highlight of our summer vacations. (We already have reserved our dates for 2018). This year was amazing, the weather was hot and the lake was nice and calm. Our golden retriever loved swimming in the lake, and the kids had a great time on their jet ski's. As for the older folks in our family, we so enjoy relaxing on the large deck with a great book or a great plate of food in hand looking out at the marvelous mountains and scenery. The cabin is fully furnished and always meets our families needs. Karen and Bruce the owners are more than accommodating and great at communicating with you to meet your needs. Our Family is looking forward to next year's stay at the cabin, every year just keeps getting better!
