7 Palmas is nestled among loping palm trees and lush Costa Rican jungle just minutes from the main surfing beach. This high-end modern home has four bedrooms, and 3 1/2 bathrooms, and sleeps many as eight people. Located next to a nature preserve and on a dead end street with a path less than 5 minute walk to the beac, it is an ideal place to vacation in the Nosara area. Due to the light traffic there is no dust from the road! While located in the highly desirable K-section, it affords the sounds of the surf and close walking proximity to the main surfing beach and several restaurants/hotels near the main strip in Playa Guiones, yet the quietness of the jungle surroundings. Harbor Reef, Beach Dog Café, and Harmony Hotel are close by walks. The Yoga Institute is also a 5 minute walk.

Manicured lawns, local plants and vibrant flowers bring a rich atmosphere to the grounds, while winding stone walkways and a private drive add a level of practical sensibility to keep you smiling. The brand new in-ground pool is perfect for swimming laps or just cooling off after a day spent surfing at the beach. Monkeys are typically seen in the nature preserve in the rear of the property.

Come inside for a closer look. The main first floor room is wide, airy, and perfect for entertaining and relaxing with family and friends. The living room has a large state of the art flat screen television with cable, tasteful furniture, and jungle views. With the windows open, you can hear the ocean. There is also a half bath off the main living area.

The kitchen is completely outfitted with top of line appliances and large enough for the chef in your group to really spread out and prepare a sumptuous feast. Granite countertops, a wine cooler, multi burner stove and spacious communal tables ensure the time spent dining here will be unforgettable. A stereo system is available to connect to your own bluetooth device as well as WiFi to get high speed internet.

The two downstairs bedrooms have a large shared bathroom, twin beds (that can be combined to queen size), and large windows. The pool is just outside the large glass sliders to the living room and kitchen/patio area. Upstairs, the first master suite has a queen sized bed, fantastic bathroom, and a large private balcony overlooking the jungle. Look out for monkeys! The second master suite has a similar layout, private balcony, and high-end bathroom. The breeze carries the sound of the surf directly into the room.

Other amenities include air conditioning in all of the bedrooms, water filtration system, and a large reserve water tank in case of water rationing during the end of the dry season. Also integrated is an alarm system tied to 24 hr security service and security glass windows and doors. The house also has a solar hot water and pool pump along with battery backup for select core circuits.

The house was designed to be open and airy and bring in the outdoors. While many homes in the area have large sliders and windows, this house also incorporates screens to keep unwanted critters out. Being able to hear the sounds of the jungle and waves crashing without the concern for bugs was an important criteria for it's design. 7 Palmas was also designed for it's eco friendliness. Solar panels were added to reduce electricity demand. Most of the materials that were used to construct the house are locally sourced in CR. Ceiling fans are located all throughout the house and the patio/decks to keep air moving and guests cool.

Playa Guiones is a great beach for surfing with consistent waves nearly year round, if you like yoga there are many yoga studios and retreats.

About: I started travelling to CR in 2003 and found Nosara in 2009 staying at the Harmony. Living in the Northeast, it was a welcome getaway from the cold. But, Nosara is much more than that. Beautiful beaches, great restaurants, and just enough development to have the amenities you need, but not over built. Staying at the harmony was great, but not possible with a larger group so I set upon finding a home to rent in the future. This proved challenging in that I wanted a newer modern home close the beach and close to the restaurants. I ended up buying the lot for 7 Palmas in 2010 and completed it in 2013. Now my wife and I come down with surf buddies, and friends. We love being able to enjoy all the activities that Nosara has to offer and get out the Northeast.

Why Playa Guiones, Costa Rica:
7 Palmas took 3 years to design and build, but it was all worth it. I used a local architect and builder and could not be more happier with result. High ceilings, tons of light, large open concept for friends friends to gather and enjoy. Yet, the bedrooms are private and quiet (YES, there is a lot of concrete and block construction in this home). The house is also set back from the road so you don't hear cars or get dust and it's a dead end road. You will hear MONKEYS! The house has a great location for walking to almost all of the attractions in Nosara. It's great if some people in your group want to surf, some go eat, and some just chill. You can walk everywhere easily.

The Unique Benefits at this House:
Aside from the large windows and sliders.... SCREENS! Yes, since I built 7 Palmas, there have now been a number of modern homes built in Nosara (I like to think I started a trend?). While they all have open sliders, they forgot the screens. Why? I don't know. But, I can tell you that if you leave things wide open, critters will come in. So, in 7 Palmas you can hear the sounds of the jungle & surf and feel and smell the fresh open air, but you don't need to worry about those other things you might not want to see or feel. Other than the location being one of the best with no dust and the nature preserve in back, the house has the to be expected amenities. Flat screen TV (we hardly watch it), cable, internet, and the biggies like large reserve water tank with filtration system, 24hr alarm, and solar power (plus grid). Kitchen is stocked if you like to cook (or hire one). Also, there was an 8ft concrete privacy wall added on either side of the house for added security and privacy. Property manager is local for check in/check out, questions, issues, etc.
