The Moose Haus was built in 1895 and is a 'registered' historical home. It was initially built as a miner's shanty, by the famous Ivers family and was later home to Olympic skier and Park City Ski Team member, Eric Hays. It was fully remodeled and upgraded in August of 2013, with 5 bedrooms (including large bunk room with 3 sets of bunks and comfy sleeper sofa) and 4 bathrooms. This home is filled with antiques, upscale furnishings, modern amenities and lots of charm through out. Enjoy the backyard BBQ, large spa, Edith Anne teak rocking chairs or beautiful surrounding views, from the over sized front deck. This home is not your typical rental. It is lovingly cared for and offers all the upscale comforts of a fancy resort. Located in the sought after, quieter end of Park Avenue, you can step out the front door and head down the steps to popular Main Street, with all it's quaint shops and world class restaurants. Or, merely head south two houses and start your trek at the corner of Main Street & Park Avenue, where you can catch the free trolley, up and down Main Street, all day long. Catch the FREE ski shuttle from here as well and head to nearby Park City Mountain, Deer Valley or Canyon's ski resorts, for world class skiing, snow boarding and famous hiking or biking trails. Several PGA rated golf courses, tennis courts, museums, parks, outdoor concerts, swimming, hiking trails, mountain biking, horseback riding, hot air ballooning, zip lining, fishing tours, bob sledding, alpine coasters, ice skating, snowmobiling, outlet stores, famous amusement parks and the Sundance Festival are all nearby, making this the best vacation destination all year long. If your goal is to simply relax and do nothing, the house also offers new wide screen televisions, with cable, movies, DVDs, Wifi, Wii computer games and Pandora.

About Cheryl Gale
Residing in San Juan Capistrano and Capistrano Beach, we are a hard working couple that enjoys our time off. We love to travel extensively, ski, golf, fish, play tennis, shop and spend as much time with our kids and grand kids as we can (posing with our two year old grandson's beloved, 'Nim'). We take pride in our various homes and love to make them show pieces that we can share with our friends, family and the occasional picky renter.

Why Cheryl Gale chose Old Town
We are an active couple from sunny Southern California, who fell in love with Park City's historical charm, shops, restaurants and most of all world class skiing. When we first began our search for a home in Park City, we could look no further than the well known, Ivers Family / Hays Family property. Originally established in 1895, as a miner's shanty by the Iver's family, this home later became home to the well known Olympic & Park City Ski Team member, Eric Hays, before his tragic death. The home is rich in history and is listed on the town's historical registry. We were instantly hooked by it's character, old world charm and two car garage. We named the home, 'The Moose Haus', after picking up a leather moose statue that has found it's way into the family room. To make the home more comfortable, we proceeded to do a remodel top to bottom, keeping much of the vintage charm, with period antiques. It really doesn't get any better than this location.. only steps to all the restaurants, shops and free ski shuttle. The house is perfect for us, our kids and grand kids and we know you're going to love it too!
What makes this Chalet unique
The 'Moose Haus' is a charming, historical home that has been remodeled and updated, with all the current amenities you could ask for. It has five bedrooms (2 of which are private master bedrooms, with king size beds and private bathrooms and one of which is an over sized bunk room with three sets of bunk beds and private bathroom), four total bathrooms, mud room, ski storage area, laundry facility, family room with, over sized deck to gaze at the mountain view. It's got a large dining room to seat everybody, with upscale kitchen and 'butler's pantry'. The backyard is picturesque with large spa, wood deck, Edith Anne style, teak rocking chairs and BBQ. The home is lovingly cared for and has been filled with beautiful period antiques. Best of all, this property is located in the heart of 'old town' and parallels Main Street, with all it's shops and restaurants, only a few steps away. This is the 'upscale' end of Park Avenue which is quieter and the place you'll want to be for a good night's sleep. Only a few feet from the free ski shuttle to nearby Park City Mountain, Deer Valley Ski Resort and popular Canyon's Ski Resort.

Great Park City ski house
Had an amazing experience renting this house for a long weekend in February. Cheryl was super easy to work with - very quick to respond to messages and very flexible.
The house is as advertised - beautiful old ski house in the heart of Park City. It is about a 10 minute walk to the Town Lift (down a hill on the way there and up a hill on the way back, so be prepared for that). Also right at the beginning of Main Street so walking distance to lots of shops, restaurants, etc. The house comfortably slept 12 adults. The outdoor hot tub is also a major plus for the after-ski relaxation.
Will definitely rent this house again upon return to Park City!
Great location a very short distance from Main Street. House accommodated our party extremely well (6 adults).
Spent too much time on the outdoor patio...... NOT! Everything was fun. We got to the point where we could walk both ways up and down Main ST. Nice place owned by nice folks. Very easy to deal with.
Cheryl was a fantastic host and made my groups stay as comfortable as she possibly could. The house itself is very uniquely laid out and very much fun to stay in as homes are no longer modeled as such. The location was great during Sundance as it was a fairly quick walk down the stairs to Main St.
Super Cozy Mountain Home - LOVED the Moose Haus!
The location is amazing with a one minute walk to the historic downtown district full of unique shops and restaurants. You can tell a tremendous amount of planning and detail went into each and every room. The beds and bedding are very cozy and new. It was super clean and had everything we needed to cook, BBQ, Jacuzzi and relax while taking in the most beautiful view of the historic homes and mountains. I cannot stay enough about how easy it is to work with Cheryl while arranging for our stay. Best mountain vacation home EVER! Don't miss your chance to stay in this wonderful home away from home.
Lovely home and fantastic location!
Moose Haus provided the perfect venue for our group of friends to gather for an amazing ski weekend. The house fit our group of 10 perfectly. It was a perfect blend of charm with updated features. The home was clean when we arrived and it is clearly a well looked after property. We chose to cook in one evening and the kitchen was perfectly stocked - very convenient and helpful! The location was equally perfect for getting to the slopes quickly or walking to the shops/restaurants.
The owner was very responsive and helpful. We would definitely stay here again and recommend it to others considering a trip to Park City!
Located in the heart of old town, right downtown, parallel to Main Street. Just step out the front door and cross the street to stairs, down to Main Street...or, walk two houses south to begin your decent down Main Street. Shops, restaurants, theater, museums, park concerts, you'll find it all on Main Street. Located only a few feet from the FREE shuttle bus to Park City Mountain, Deer Valley or Canyon's for world class skiing and snow boarding. Also close to Park City Outlets for serious shoppers. Local companies offering day tours, golf, fly fishing, wagon rides, horseback riding, bob sleds, zip lining, mountain biking, hiking, snowmobiling, sledding, ice skating and much more, all only a few feet away, on Main Street. Winter or Summer, you'll find lots to do in this location.
