You can grill outback next to the river on the authentic charcoal park grill next to the picnic table and firepit. The Hiwassee River is popular for fishing, rafting, kayaking, canoeing, and tubing. Fly fishing is popular on the river and species caught include rainbow and brown trout, large-mouth Bass, yellow perch and catfish.
The water quality of the Hiwassee River is exceptionally high as it is protected by the State Wild and Scenic River Association. The water flow is regulated by the TVA controlled dam at Lake Chatuge, 10 miles upstream. The river will rise and move swiftly, almost daily, when water is released from the dam. So pull up a chair and cast off in our backyard to catch your dinner.

I love to travel and explore new places. I love to help people plan their vacations and share my experiences with them.

Our cabin is a home away from home. You get away from the everyday chores that distract you at home. Relaxing at the cabin is a way to reconnect with your family.
Our cabin is in a tranquil setting yet close enough to necessities and fun activities.
Pretty view from the back patio, but the place was inadequate for a group of 8. There are just 2 bedrooms, an open loft area upstairs with twin beds and a lousy pull out couch. We did bring inflatable mattresses, thank goodness. It was very noisy, especially between floors when people upstairs were moving about. We did vacate after 2 days of of 4 day planned stay. The host graciously refunded one night stay.
Maybe it would have worked for 2 couples.
Spent a few days here with family. Beautifully, serene cabin right on the river. Grandsons enjoyed fishing from the bank. Nightly fire in the fire pit was their favorite. Cabin is located in close proximity to Hiwassee and Blairsville. plenty of things to see and do or just enjoy the tranquility of the cabin.
The house could use a good cleaning but we enjoyed our stay. Property is beautiful the area is very nice. Would definitely go back
Great place to stay! Well appointed and the owner very nice to work with. I would definitely stay there again! Pat n Jeff B
The cabin was really nice and we enjoyed our stay. The river view is beautiful and we caught a number of trout and even a few carp. It was great to sit on the screened in porch in the mornings and drink coffee. Everything was clean and well decorated inside. Very private and relaxing location but we had limited cell service. Thankfully there is a landline and we weren't there to be on our phones anyway. I would definitely recommend this property to others who are interested in a relaxing vacation with fishing and other water activities.
We were lucky enough to stay at Bella Riva with another couple for a much needed break, and it was so nice to come "home" after a long day of riding the twisty roads to soak my tired bones in the hot tub and watch the mist rise on the river. The quiet mornings were a special treat.
