About Jean Bekkedal
Gary's Norwegian roots come from this beautiful area of Wisconsin where he was born. We have been on our farm 43 years. Gary was a retired teacher from Viroqua Atea Schools, while stayed home taking care of our 3 girls when young, along with the farm. Our 3 daughters & their live close, within 12 miles.
Jean Bekkedal purchased this Cabin in 2001
Why Jean Bekkedal chose Viroqua
Gary & I love this beautiful area of Wisconsin with it's many trout streams, high bluffs and deep valleys. We loved this farm because of it has wooded areas as well as crop land. The sound of birds singing wakes us in the morning, the big, beautiful sky full of nighttime stars.
What makes this Cabin unique
The Farmer's Inn was fashioned after the mountain cabins of Norway. Gary designed it & local carpenters built it. Sit on the front porch & enjoy the view. All-wood, the cabin is cozy & comfortable. Newly finished downstairs floors are beautiful.

Wonderfully quiet in beautiful rolling hills of the Driftless
A great, simple, quiet cabin in Wisconsin farmland this little gem gives a person a relaxed experience of the region. Close enough to the little town of Viroqua to enjoy its small town appeal, yet just far enough away to appreciate the topography and the attitude of the area. Would recommend to anyone and I’d come back myself next trout season.
Chuck & Zach were excellent guests who left the cabin neat & tidy. We would host them again & would recommend them without question. We look forward to meeting you on your next trip to Viroqua.
Clean, quaint cabin!
Easy to find, quiet area with nice view out front door. WiFi worked great, we didn't use the Dish or TV, so nothing to review on those. Stove, oven, microwave & coffee pot worked great (don't laugh, we've been to places that have them but they don't work!) Only downfalls, which we were really no problem, was that the grill didn't have any gas so we had to use the oven/stove more than planned & would have been nice to have arrival/departure instructions. We weren't sure what to do with garbage/recycle or dirty linens. Beds were comfy, plenty of linens (pillows, towels) Our kids want this to be a yearly stay! Overall, we had a great stay!
Beautiful pastoral view! Very welcoming!
Our second stay was as good as our first! Granddaughters loved the farm and the animals. Gary and Jeannie made us feel so welcome! Loved our stay!
Thank you, we loved having you as guests once again!

Perfect getaway for exploring the Ocooch.
My Son and I very much enjoyed our stay in the cabin. After a relaxing quiet Wednesday night we drove my car back home Thursday morning and brought two of my bikes back to Viroqua. We spent Friday exploring the area before returning to Caledonia. Aside from roads that were washed out because of the rains before we arrived we had a great time. The cabin was roomy, cool, and quiet at night.
Easy to get to and relaxed enviroment. My bed was super comfortable too.
Discovering the Driftless region worked well with the cabins location.
We're happy you found our cabin comfortable & that our location made your region exploring easier. You were great guests!
This lovely little cabin was a perfect weekend get away. Not only was the cabin wonderfully appointed, we were treated with farm fresh eggs from the the owners! What a special treat for our Easter holiday!
The location is ideal and easily accessible to Viroqua and all of the beauty the Driftless region has to offer. I have already recommended this rental to my friends & family, and we will certainly be back!
Gary & I are so happy you enjoyed your stay at our little cabin, The Farmer's Inn. We appreciate you leaving everything so clean & neat. We hope to see you again sometime in the future.
