A bit disappointed
Overall, the stay was a bit more than adequate! The kitchen was well maintained and had all updated appliances; what was lacking was glassware, drinking mostly, we were washing them by hand daily because there were not enough and there were only 4 of us; also some pots and plans (frying) !should be thrown out because of their condition. The 1st floor TV room (adjacent to kitchen) is not conducive for the purpose it was "designed"! TV should be mounted above fireplace and art should move where TV was! That way the TV can best be seen in room with the furniture in place. Which is my next point; the sectional couch is uncomfortable, worn and not shaped well for that room, same with the black lounge chair! Finally, in that room, the table on wheels and carpet it sits on are almost to the point of dangerous (at least for small children...carpet is cheap and not fastened down, slides; and the table on wheels does not remain level and has chunks of wood missing leaving sharp edges! Lastly, the back "porch" with the gas grill needs to be updated (enlarged for a bit more seating area) sand some new/quality outdoor chairs! Other minor issues were the decorated Christmas Tree in the Captain's Bunk room (in July?) seemed out of place and tacky. Additionally, I was able to write "dust me" on top of cabinet near TV room; saw no other areas like this in house. Hot tub & area was fine; wished for a bit more privacy! Overall trip/visit was fine, but we thought some of these ideas would add to the facility experience! Thanks! Jack
Thank you for your comments on Shekel Haus. We appreciate your suggestions on the furniture and will take them into consideration. Since your stay, we have replenished the items in the kitchen and have tacked down the rug in the living room. We hope to see you again soon!
Great place to stay with your family!
The house was very nice, great location and nice accommodations! My only complaint was that there are 2 bedrooms that have bathrooms far from them and you have to travel across 2 big game rooms to get to them. But our family loved it and felt at home!
We stayed at the Shekel Haus recently during a very busy ski weekend. The house was beautiful and very well appointed with plenty of room. Our first day we had a bit of trouble with the WiFi and the fireplace but within a few hours the very helpful Property managers had someone over and had it taken care of. Would definitely recommend this property. They also let us check in early as we got to town around noon. The only think I will mention is that the house was a bit cold/drafty and no heater vents or space heaters could be found. This is not something that we could have traveled with so we just had to sort of deal with it. Not at all something that would keep us from coming back but next time we will bring our robes and fluffy socks :). The kids love the game room and played on the gaming system.
I stayed in this house during a ski trip. It is located in a neighborhood near the ski lifts and convenient to other attractions such as a sledding hill, park, and restaurants. The home is beautiful inside and out. There is plenty of room for large families to have separate bedrooms and bathrooms. There is a spacious basement with another bedroom, bathroom, and entertainment space. I particularly enjoyed the hot tub and deck just a couple steps outside the back door. I also appreciated the mud room type storage for ski equipment or other outdoor activities. The main floor has lots of entertaining space and the second floor has beautiful views. I would stay there again in a heartbeat!
