Great place in Cashiers! This cabin isn't large but is very thoughtfully appointed; remote, but only a couple of miles from town.
Property is lovely and very comfortable. Picture of Dry Falls is a little misleading given its distance. Garbage dropoff is more than a little inconvenient. Overall great stay . Recent rains had all the falls roaring.
Thank you so much for the feedback! The pic is actually of Bridal Veil and I tried to get pics of all the close by falls!
We so loved having you, and yes the trash is the one issue we all have up there, as we are spoiled in Florida with 2 times a week pick up. It's just how they do it up in Cashiers.....
Come back and see us soon!
Great deck with a natural water feature-a pooling creek with trickling water.
Comfortable and well decorated. Enjoyed our stay.
Four wonderful days and nights
My husband and I and our two dogs thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this cabin. We escaped scorching temperatures at home (located just forty-five minutes away). It is amazing what 2000 feet of elevation provides.
We found the cabin's interior very attractive and comfortable. It is clear that a lot of thought and good taste went into the remodeling and decorating. Everything was just as promised, and we prepared most of our meals in the well outfitted kitchen.
I have to say that our favorite part of the cabin was the large covered front porch. It was so quiet, peaceful and relaxing.
We highly recommend this cabin to others who wish to enjoy the Cashiers/Highlands mountain area.
Comfy cabin hideaway
Perfect size cabin for a small group (three toilets!), a couple or solo. Well equipped, very cozy beds and a friendly cat who will happily visit on the porch. Still not sure where the waterfall advertised in the photo is located. If it is nearby, and walkable, a sheet with directions would have been helpful. Easy wi-fi connection. We never used the televisions. We could have stayed longer and been very happy, excluding the proximal political commentary which we were hoping to escape for a few days. All in all, a perfect little getaway close to fine dining, shopping and outdoor recreation.
Let me start by saying that our overall experience of this home was positive. It is a very nice cozy home that is literally (depending on your arm strength) a stones throw away from Silver Run falls, which is a must if you have kids, and right down the road from downtown Cashiers, which is a really cool town. We were also privy to the amenities at Sapphire Valley Resort through this booking, also a huge positive. I will say that the photos of the home, mostly exterior, are a bit misleading. Based on the photos one could easily assume that the gazebo and water feature are part of the homes yard, leading to the assumption the home has a yard...it doesn’t, the property is basically the home and a parking spot. The gazebo is located at the entrance of a “shared” driveway, which is only about 50’ (if that)from the house, and the water feature is directly across from said “shared” driveway from the porch. Neither of those are big deals, but again how they are arranged in the photos is misleading. The only negative I would mention is the communication with the owner. First impression I thought the communication process was going to be a positive, but the breakdown in communication quickly followed. After expressing interest in having access to the amenities at Sapphire Valley, the owner quickly acknowledged my request (positive), and sent me a slew of PDF’s which I eventually found to have tons of helpful info. The first problem came when I clicked on the PDFs, but there was not content. I let Kim know - she basically said that didn’t make sense and told me to download a PDF reader, she seemed annoyed (but w/ texts who knows?). I conduct a lot of business using PDFs, I didn’t need to download anything. I asked if she could email them. I received NO response, just crickets(negative). After several days of hearing nothing, I decided to try logging in on my computer instead of using the VRBO App, and was able to get the info that way. The second lapse of communication was that in the info provided were instructions for entering the home, and what the code would be. The instructions also stated i may get an email or text confirming the code...well, that email/text never came so I punched the code according to the instructions provided. The door didn’t open...no cell service meant I had to drive to town to call Kim. I’m big on communication, and when it fails I get irritated especially when it could’ve been easily avoided
