Guestbook comments from the owner

Willow Creek Cabin is right on Gore Creek, which makes a relaxing sound as it flows over rocks next to the deck. You can fish right there. This is a great asset to the house. The views of the brilliant yellow aspens on the mountainside were fabulous - we were lucky to be there during peak fall color.

This house is beautifully decorated, with huge amounts of storage and all of the conveniences. The kitchen is well equipped with an upscale stove. The bedrooms are large. Skiers would appreciate the big open tiled entryway - perfect for snow gear and equipment, and wet boots and coats. There is a large wall mounted flat screen TV, and a lot of media options. A huge dining area overlooks the creek, with nice views. Everything is as nice, if not better, than pictured on the websites.

The deck, on the creek, is huge. It has lots of seating and a nice big hot tub. The yard is full of perennials - lots and lots of flowers - and some nice clusters of aspen trees and evergreens.

All three bedrooms were good sized and had queen sized beds - four such beds in all. Two bedrooms are on the lower level. One of those is huge, with two beds. The master bathroom was quite large with a king-sized bed and very nice. There were nice linens and plenty of extra pillows and blankets.

Frequent and FREE local bus service is maybe a half block away. This bus can take you anywhere in the Vail area easily. Large grocery stores are a mile or two away.

Nice cabin with a beautiful deck

  • 5 of 5

We all enjoyed the cabin, it was close to the mountain and the deck was great! It would be a nice place for a summer vacation.

Just a couple of issues 1.) for us one person had to sleep on the pull out couch outside the kitchen(not very private)Only 6 people can sleep privately as there are 2 queens in one room works great if you have small kids or one child/parents in the one room. ( all this is clearly stated on website we just thought the one pull out would be down stairs in a more private place)

2.) the water is soft and the tub is slippery to get in and out of, best to sit down and get in. Seems silly but everyone had an issue and we are not old people.

3.) There are a lot of locked cabinets not one cabinet specifically for food, so our groceries were kind of all over the counter. (we cooked everyday)

The upside to all this is there were spices etc. for us to use which is great because then we didn't have to buy any!

For the most part we all really enjoyed the cabin! Thanks for offering it on Home Away

Pictures don't do it justice

Our group of 9 visited in October. The house and scenery were even better than the photos. Everyone in our group loved it. We did a lot of hiking and biking and visited a lot of the parks and the location of the house was great, quick to everything. We would easily stay here again.

Amazing setting - close and on the Gore Creek

  • 5 of 5

A great place! My favorite part is having coffee on the deck with the Gore Creek about 8 feet below, and with a view up and down the creek. The cabin is both cozy and spacious with ceiling beams that add charm. The kitchen is easy to use. It's between two seating areas so everyone can be together even when meals are being prepared. I went for a beautiful hike right from the cabin - the trailhead is at the dog park just 5 mins walk east. Easy parking right outside. Cable and Internet work well. I recommend this home for a family (or two) get together.

Everything was great. The only downside is you can hear some car noise since it is close to the road/highway, but otherwise a perfect setting.

HEAVENLY!!! Did not want to leave! Could not have been closer to Gore Creek without being in it!!

  • 5 of 5

I have been eyeing this property for at least 7 years. I wanted a place as close to Gore Creek as possible and this did NOT DISAPPOINT!!! We had an all girls cousin and Aunt trip. It was PERFECT! The property is updated and immaculate! The deck is as big as the cabin! I could have spent all my time on the deck just looking and listening to the creek roar by. Very quiet neighborhood. Could have fished, saw a handful of Fly Fishman in the creek and on the banks of the "Gold Medal Waters". We are all great cooks and cooked 4 out of 6 nights. We had everything we needed to cook our gourmet meals in this very nice kitchen. The pictures on the website don't do it justice. There is a nice sitting room with pullout couch and DR on the backside that is all glass, looking at the mountain and the deck. The kitchen is all open looking into this room and out on to the deck. The front room is very comfortable and cozy with a wood burning fireplace. The furniture is very nice. There were 6 of us and a King bed in the upstairs Master and 3 queen beds in 2 bedrooms downstairs. All the bedrooms were very large with dressers and televisions. Could have comfortably slept 8 adults in beds. The sitting room couch pulled out to a bed, but didn't use, not sure about the front room couch. I slept like a baby on the sitting room couch. No AC, but didn't need it. All the windows open up, there are ceiling fans in all the rooms, and there are multiple box fans if needed. There are 2 full bathrooms and 6 women managed just fine for 7 days. Full laundry downstairs. Nice, large, clean hot tub. Beautifully manicured yard. Gas grill, but we did not use. Says parking only for 2 cars, but could have parked 3 cars no problem. The neighbor has lived in Vail for 40 years and is very friendly, knowlegable, and helpful. FREE bus shuttle around Vail stops just down the road, 10 min walk. Runs 18 hours a day, about every 30 min. About a 15 min trip into town because the bus stops alot. Takes about 5 min to drive into Vail Village or Lionshead and park free in public garages during the summer. Safeway and City Market were 3 min away and had everything we needed. Great Farmers Market and Crafts Fair on Sundays 10-3 in Vail on Meadows Drive, but very crowded. Beautiful walks along Gore Creek all the way to East Vail (this property is in West Vail). If you plan on having dinner in any of the many popular restaurants, make reservations weeks ahead! HEAVEN
