Bring your boat, fishing poles, ATV, jet ski, hunting gear, and adventurous spirit!
On site boat ramp and slips, bait sales, and boat fuel sales and laundry room onsite.
The home has two bedrooms, two full baths and a full kitchen with granite counters and full appliances (stove, refrigerator, microwave and dishwasher), living room. and dining area.
One of the most unique aspects of this home is the location, 9000s of acres of natural Florida outdoors to explore. It is not unusual to see a flock of wild turkeys or deer. So please keep that in mind and keep all food in the cabin to not attract unwanted wildlife!
This is a rural setting and does not have wifi or cable. The camp is home to several longtime and permanent residents some of which chose to display confederate flags. We are not responsible for how others maintain their lots and do not know who will be visiting from day to day. It’s not unusual to see pitched tents outside the cabin.
Paintball is to the north at Old River Paintball. Just 10 miles to the west is The Villages where there are 38+ golf courses, restaurants & shopping (chain and mom & pop), a hospital, clinics and every kind of doctor you could want. Antiquing is available at Mt Dora, Eustis, Leesburg and other neighboring towns. To the north is Silver Springs with glass bottom boats, water park and live outdoor concerts. And don’t miss the Carriage museum at Lady Lake.
Just over an hour; to the east are the Daytona, New Smyrna and Cocoa Beaches: to the south is Disney World, Universal Studios and SeaWorld; and to the west the Golf Coast. This home is perfectly located to enjoy all that Central Florida has to offer.

stayin at nelsons fish camp
the cabin is set up very well for the size (400 sq. ft). Parking was the worst part, we stayed 10 days, had great access to boat launch and lake griffin. The cabin did have a slight smell form being empty but was gone in a day, hard water so bring your own drinking water. everything else was fine. just remember it is a fish camp not the ritz.
Didn't realize we would be staying at a fish camp. The double bed was comfortable, however, there was no hot water. The cabin had a smell. Once we figured out the drains needed to have water run through them the smell lessened.
The property is surprising inside. Space is well used and everything inside is clean and well managed. hope to come back
cabin on the Ocklawaha River
This was advertised as a 2 bedroom 2 bath cabin and was not it was a 1 private bedroom with a bunk bed off of the kitchen. The water smelled like eggs and you can not drink it. The house smelled really bad when we arrived open dish washer and it was filled will dirty water and the house had to be cleaned by us before we could stay there because cleaners it a really bad job. The air conditioner filters were really dirty and had to be cleaned. The only thing that made our stay good were the three campers out in front and Kevin . The area is not clean and thought the property was private and it was not. My husband loved the fishing. I would not stay there again for the price it was not worth it. The air boats make it very noisely
Quiet place to spend Thanksgiving
My husband and I were looking for a quiet place to spend the holiday with my 2 college boys. This cabin allowed us to hang out, catch up, and focus on family time instead of all the outside distractions that we would have had at home. The cabin offered exactly what we were looking for.
We were there on a fishing trip, and the owner was more than accommodating with our stay, renting us the cabin with only a few hours in advance. The cabin had everything we needed from kitchenware to towels. My son & nephew absolutely loved it! They were able to fish on the Ocklawaha River and Lake Griffin, a nearby State Park, where they also had fun canoeing. The people in the area were friendly and we would definitely consider visiting again. We had a very relaxing and pleasant time.
