Our Family has had the privilege of being one of the premiere developers in the Turks and Caicos Islands.
Our projects have ranged from a deep water harbor in Bellfield Landing, North Caicos Yacht club and Marina in Sandy Point adjacent to the legendary Parrot Cay resort, numerous Private Homes on both North Caicos and Parrot Cay, including all six bungalows in this subdivision and even the first bridge of its kind in the Turks and Caicos Islands chain. Needless to say we find this little piece of paradise as just that ''Paradise'', a truly special place and we hope that you feel the same.
Once you see that first exquisite sunset you will know why...This truly is a special place.
A Caribbean island getaway! There are 6 bungalows available for rent. Each one will sleep 4. This is a great location for large groups or events. Everyone has the opportunity to stay together with the lucury and privacy ofvtheir own bungalow!
As others have said, the sandy point area is remote-no town or shops nearby other than the restaurant by the harbor- bring as much food and supplies as you can from a Provo- there is a good liquor store on the island though and several grocery stores - but you need a car to get there- it's too far to bike.
The cottages are well appointed, clean, beds were comfortable, (we used fold out couch) water pressure in shower was good and everything worked well. there is a washer/dryer which was great. Regine the on island manager was fantastic- responded to every text very quickly, helped arrange what we needed and was just excellent. The bikes left for us were fine to run down to the marina to get breakfast- we enjoyed doing that several mornings.
My husband and I stayed here for 12 nights and had the best time. It is a perfect setting for anyone looking to escape from the daily grind and retreat to quiet, rest and relaxation. The cottage was perfect-exceeded our expectations and we've been traveling to the small islands of the Bahamas and Carribean for over 30 years, so that says a lot!
we simply stepped outside our cottage door to watch and listen to birds and at night drink in the expanse of the night sky. We had a car for our stay, but many days we stayed at the cottage, by the pool, and walked or rode bikes to the beach.
It was truly a vacation in paradise!
We spent a week at Sea Breeze and were not disappointed in any way. We are both in our 60s and were looking for somewhere that was less developed with a slower pace, but with easy access to beach and fresh seafood. The cottage was very spacious and had everything one could want. It was clean and all of the appliances and AC functioned. Because the island has few wells, the majority of the water we used came form a cistern. It was not a problem as each night we boiled the water we would use the next day, alternatively one could purchase water from the store.
Sea Breeze is located at Sandy Point which is perhaps a half mile from the North Caicos Marina where the ferry docks from Providenciales. Regine and Patty picked us up at the ferry and drove us to Sea Breezes where they had prepared a welcoming picnic including a bottle of wine and assorted appetizers from a local restaurant. Regine kindly purchased on our behalf some milk and eggs. Regine and Patty explained the internet and the operation of the television and answered our myriad of questions about what to see and where to get fresh seafood from the dock. They drove us through the development and showed us the beach access about 200 yards from our front door. We used this beach access to walk to "Three Marys" for snorkeling and beach combing. For swimming we would cycle to the Royal Reef, a partially constructed hotel that was abandoned during the economic down-turn of the 2008, but had a spectacular beach. We swam there several days and enjoyed the sunsets. Most days we would finish up back at Sea Breezes where we would have a dip in the pool and dry off in the late afternoon sun.
There is lots to do on North Caicos. The distances are not great and one can easily cycle to most places. Our longest cycle ride was just past Miss B's where we purchased 4 large (2 lbs each) lobster tails and red snapper fillets on two separate occasions from Nat, a local fisherman. We also cycled to Wades Plantation, the Cottage pond, and Government plantation where fresh produce can be purchased when in season. We rented a car for one day when we drove to Middle Caicos to see Mudjin Harbor and Bambarra beach. My favorite day-trip was to Parrot Cay, a private island across from Sandy Point. It has 10 or so villas priced between $3,000 and $30,000/night. At low tide one can walk to Parrot Cay from the beach at the Royal Reef in a 1/2 mile arc along a sand bar in 2-3 feet of water.
We stayed a week in the SeaBreeze bungalows, and it was perfect. Regine and Patty are wonderful hosts who will help you navigate North Caicos, which is about a 25 minute ferry ride from Provo. They helped us figure out our scuba, snorkel, and other adventures, and delivered water when we were running low! If you are a resort person who needs ample restaurants and shops and grocery stores, North Caicos is not for you. However, if you value solitude, don't mind cooking, and enjoy a bit of adventure, the SeaBreeze bungalows are the perfect spot. The bungalows themselves are even nicer than the pictures, and the 2 provided bikes were absolutely key. The closest beach is nothing to write home about, but a 5 minute bike ride leads you to another beach, completely deserted with white sands and crystal clear water. The salt water pool on premises is a lovely alternative to the beach, and the communal BBQ area is never crowded. Make sure you buy ALL your groceries (including water) on Provo before coming! If not, there are some small places on the island, but you'll need to rent a car. You'll probably want to factor that into your trip anyway, as Middle Caicos is really worth a trip! Overall this was just the perfect little space for us. We almost didn't want to write a review because we didn't want it to get crowded. If you're looking to get AWAY away, this is the place.
Visit historical Wade's Greene Plantation, take in the amazing sights of Mudjin Harbor on nearby Middle Caicos or take a beachside stroll to beautiful 3 Mary's cay. There's much to see so get out there and get started.
