About owner/property manager

Marci and I(Chuck) moved here in 2007 from Seattle. We fell in love with the people of the Big Island, the laid back lifestyle, and of course the beautiful weather, the beaches, reefs and sea life!

owner/property manager purchased this studio in 2010

Why owner/property manager chose Captain Cook

We chose this property because of its close in location, to all of the things we really love here!

What makes this studio unique

We love this home because it feels like a beach house and because we saw the opportunity to build this special ohana that we can share with you!

Vacation of Memories!

  • 5 of 5

My husband, Darryl and I had a great time on the island. Chuck and Marci were so gracious and accommodating to us. The rental was outstanding; it had all the amenities that you could ask for: comfortable bed, hot shower, washer/dryer, stove, refrigerator, wireless internet. Not to mention they had all sorts of stuff you could borrow to make your excursions more fun, snorkel masks, beach bags, boogie boards. We would definitely recommend this rental to others. Only item to note for some is that you do have to be able to travel up and down stairs to get in and out of the rental so if you have any limitations on stairs this may be of concern. We do not, so for us it was awesome.

A Perfect Start!

  • 5 of 5

This very special home away from home is the perfect start to an island stay! The warm greeting upon arrival set the tone for a great visit. Marci and Chuck were so helpful and informative understanding exactly what we wanted to do on the island. There were so many small, very appreciated touches to this get-a-way. It was central to good restaurants, places to explore, and adventures. Even the roaming chickens and noisy frogs added to the charm. The exact directions from the airport to a grocery for our initial set up was wonderful. And don't forget the fresh fruit! They will always be a part of our memories of the Big Island!

Wonderful Place to Stay

  • 5 of 5

Marci's Dream was a wonderful place to stay, Marci and Chuck were very welcoming and the apartment was large, roomy with tall ceilings and everything you need for an enjoyable stay. As we were mostly interested in snorkeling, Marci's Dream was perfectly located in Captain Cook and a short distance to Two Step, Kealakekua Bay, and Keahou Bay. The apartment was well stocked with supplies included and welcome bowl of fresh fruit on arrival. There is a great grocery store nearby as well as numerous restaurants and the Sunday Market at the top of the street is not to be missed. We highly recommend Marci's Dream.

Beautiful cottage and wonderful owners

  • 5 of 5

Marci and Marci's Dream are one of a kind. Marci made us welcome from the moment we knocked on the door to the day we left. The cottage is fully stocked with welcoming fruit and coffee, new kitchen, comfortable furniture and bed, and washer and dryer. The location for exploring south Kona is excellent. Don't miss the Sunday market in Captain Cook and the beach at Honaunau. If you need anything including snorkeling gear and beach chairs, Marci has it. Be aware that there are about 15 stairs down to the cottage, but along the other side of the house is a ramp. The TV is old school, but who needs a TV when there are so many places to explore and things to do - coffee plantations, the Original Hawaiian Chocolate Factory, Pu'uhonau O'Honaunau National Park and nearby 2 Steps for snorkeling, the Sunday market, Patz Pies for pizza, Kona Coffeehouse for cheesecake and coffee, and sunsets every evening. The Choicemart grocery store is just up the street. Kealakekua Bay is a short drive as is Keahou Bay where you can catch snorkeling boats. We highly recommend Marci's Dream for your stay on the Kona side of the island.
