About owner/property manager

Marci and I(Chuck) moved here in 2007 from Seattle. We fell in love with the people of the Big Island, the laid back lifestyle, and of course the beautiful weather, the beaches, reefs and sea life!

owner/property manager purchased this studio in 2010

Why owner/property manager chose Captain Cook

We chose this property because of its close in location, to all of the things we really love here!

What makes this studio unique

We love this home because it feels like a beach house and because we saw the opportunity to build this special ohana that we can share with you!

Beautiful Retreat.

  • 5 of 5

We loved this place and would highly recommend it. Beautiful and spacious with an airy open concept and really nice design. Large south / west windows provided evening breezes and great light. Perfect place for two. Comfortable furnishings and great kitchen / bar area for cooking. Marci and Chuck were super friendly and started us off with a huge bowl of fruit - some from their property, great coffee and some local tips. The property is walking distance from a really nice Sunday morning farmers market. Surrounded by tropical vegetation and views of the ocean. Perfect.

Amazing Beach Cottage

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful time in Hawaii. Our little cottage exceeded our needs and expectations. We were greeted with a wonderful fruit basket of pineapple, oranges and bananas grown right in the yard. Chuck and Marci were the best hosts and helped us plan our days to maximize our experience in Hawaii. We would go back in a minute.

The lodgings exceeded our expectations

  • 5 of 5

The room is very spacious with a beautiful, and fully equipped kitchen. We did half our cooking and could eat breakfast outdoors. The yard is private and you feel like you are in a little bit of a jungle. There are several fruit trees and we could see beautiful birds. The bed was excellent as well. The wild roosters love to serenade you but their noise never bothered me. Marci and Chuck have thought of everything, there are earplugs if you need them or you can close your window.

The sand has been washed out at the beach that is close by but there are many beaches with in 20 minutes, a wonderful market in which to buy bread and produce of all types on Sundays and many affordable restaurants very close. We would definitely choose this place again.

Vacation of Memories!

  • 5 of 5

My husband, Darryl and I had a great time on the island. Chuck and Marci were so gracious and accommodating to us. The rental was outstanding; it had all the amenities that you could ask for: comfortable bed, hot shower, washer/dryer, stove, refrigerator, wireless internet. Not to mention they had all sorts of stuff you could borrow to make your excursions more fun, snorkel masks, beach bags, boogie boards. We would definitely recommend this rental to others. Only item to note for some is that you do have to be able to travel up and down stairs to get in and out of the rental so if you have any limitations on stairs this may be of concern. We do not, so for us it was awesome.
