Summer Hiking, Biking, Music; Winter Skiing 5 Minutes To Breckenridge lifts

Bedrooms 2
Space 400 sq. ft.
Property type chalet
Minimum Stay 5 nights

About the property

I bath, sleeps up to 4, 1 bedroom plus roomy loft (with limited headroom)

Welcome our cozy mountain Chalet/Cabin in the unique Tiger Run Resort. This is our second home, rated as "delux unit " in the Resort. It is well stocked, in nice condition, and not just another stripped rental. The Chalet and Resort is great for families as it is gated community. Children can ride their bikes and love sleeping in the "Loft" where there are two queen sized beds (in addition to the downstairs master bedroom). The Chalet will sleep four adults but three is more comfortable.

The Chalet offers privacy with all the comforts of home and includes a living area, two flat screen TVs, free high speed internet. It is a two minute walk to the resort recreation facility with heated swimming pool & two hot tubs, fitness room, game room/arcade with pool table, ping pong, electronic games, pin-ball machines, vending machines, & coin laundry.

The town is one of the oldest historical mining towns in Colorado and has the highest ski lift in N. America (12,800 ft).

Access from the Resort to Breckenridge is 5/7 minutes by car, or you can take a 7-10 minute walk to the free shuttle bus which runs every 15/30 minutes from the front of the Resort, or you can drive your car and park by the shuttle stop if you want. The Shuttle can deliver you to the Breckenridge gondola ski lift and shopping center, or any of the other nearby ski resorts including Vail, Copper Mountain, Keystone, and A-Basin.

In the summer, ride a bike or walk on nearby bike paths to either Breckenridge or Frisco, or hike/bike on the Colorado trail immediately behind the Chalet. The towns of Frisco, Dillon, Breckenridge, and Silverthorne are all a few minutes away by car or the free Summit Stage shuttle bus for shopping and great restaurants.

For more information on the Resort google "Tiger Run Resort" and for information on Breckenridge go to the town web site.

About Owner/Property Manager

We live in California but love Breckenridge for winter skiing and summer hiking and motorcycle riding. We had a condo but sold it and bought the Chalet in 2013 because of the quality of service in Tiger Run. We ski for 2-3 weeks a year, plus a week in Tahoe on our Vail Resorts Epic Pass, but spend 4-6 weeks each summer in the Chalet which is our second home.

Owner/Property Manager purchased this chalet in 2013

Why Owner/Property Manager chose Breckenridge

Compared to our previous condo, in Breckenridge, the Chalet is more private, quiet, and the Resort is very well maintained and run. The Recreation Complex is wonderful. Plus the owners and management organize interesting activities in the summer and winter.

What makes this chalet unique

Quiet, direct access to forest trails for biking and hiking in the summer as well as to Breckenridge and Frisco.

Great for families and children, as it is a gated community where children can ride bikes and enjoy the outdoors.

Quick access by car or free shuttle to Breckenridge in summer and winter.

Mature set of owners, and good resort management make things run well. We generally only rent to families, and prefer to work directly with them on all arrangements and payments.

Guestbook comments from the owner

I spent 40 minutes one night trying to record a review on VRBO with no success. I was so frustrated. I have an account on VRBO and was signed in, etc. I googled it but just couldn't get it completed.

If I had the opportunity, what I wanted to say was "My friend and I spent 5 days and nights at this chalet and enjoyed it very much. The pictures and descriptions were accurate. We were pleasantly surprised with how well stocked the kitchen in the chalet was - everything from spices to pots, pans, and bowls. The owner was very easy to communicate with, and was so nice to be flexible with our dates We would definitely rebook again if the occasion arises. Thank you!!!"

Thanks and take care,

Outdated but feeds your needs

  • 3 of 5

The interior decor is outdated and the water pressure is lacking but the bed was comfortable and the chalet gave us a place to rest and shower, which is basically all we need on this trip. Myself and one other person stayed here. I think it would be difficult to have more than 2 people staying since it is a very small space.

Owner's Response: We are sorry the "décor" did not meet the quests preferences, but it is hard to meet everyone's individual needs. However, the photos clearly show the Chalet interior and exterior, note it's small size (400 sq ft.), and that in addition to the downstairs master bedroom there are two queen sized bed in the loft for additional people . Perhaps the guest did not read the posting very carefully before booking?? The Resort has a private water system with very good well water, but the pressure is low throughout the Resort, but the shower works well !!!.

Great Stay - Again

  • 5 of 5

This was the second time I stayed here. This is a quaint place in a great location. We used it as our base to do some of the great summertime mountain activities: white water rafting, biking up Vail Pass, and multiple hikes. It is really relaxing to sit on the spacious deck and grill out after a good active day. We enjoyed the hot tub and pool in the complex also. I hope to stay here again in the future.

Great location, well kept cozy cabin

  • 5 of 5

I just stayed with three of us there, me and two kids for five nights.

The cabin is in great shape, beds are comfortable, cable TV and internet worked great. It is great to have a separate storage area for your skis.

The location two miles from Breck can't be beat. Just outside the cabin is a large hill with trails to climb. The rec area has a good pool, hot tubs, and game room.

There were many condiments we were welcome to use. The cabin comes with plenty of pots and pans.

The cabin is cozy, with a small kitchen and family room. The kitchen table fits three easily but four is crowded. The loft has two queen mattresses but very low ceilings. Nice to have two queen mattresses up there.

The water pressure is a bit low, making the shower and sinks unusable until the toilet is done flushing.

I would stay there again. The instructions from owner were good, and we never needed to contact them for anything.

Convenient Location to Breckenridge

  • 5 of 5

My wife, son, daughter-in-law and I stayed at this Chalet and found it to be very clean, cozy and convenient to Breckenridge; only about 6 minutes to the gondola. The owner was very easy to work with and the chalet was well equipped with nearly everything needed for our 5 day stay. We had to contact the owner during our stay as we had difficulty with the oven--turns out you just need to leave it on for 5 to 10 minutes before it lights. I will say the loft ceiling is very low and not particularly convenient for adults, but we were warned about that in advance. It would be fine for young children. The resort offers an indoor pool and two indoor hot tubs. Indoor tubs are not our preference as the air is very warm and stuffy, but they're still welcome after a day of skiing. Resort internet proved to be sketchy during our stay--it would frequently shut down and restart which was frustrating. Other than that, we enjoyed our time at the chalet. We were fortunate to have 2 sizable snows during our stay, and the shovels provided by the owner were handy to dig out the car. The resort does a good job of clearing roads within the property (plows came through by 7 am both mornings it had snowed), so once you get your car dug out, it was easy to get around. I would definitely recommend this chalet to couples, or to couples with young children.

Owner's Response: Glad you enjoyed it!!!!!!!!!. The Chalet has a free COMCAST high speed internet connection available to all guests. It is very fast, the directions for using it are beside the TV in the living room. We do not use the Resort Internet for the very reasons you have noted, sorry you did not see the directions for using the COMCAST service.

Great stay!

  • 5 of 5

We had a great week-long stay here over Christmas. The chalet is cozy and the Tiger Run resort is very nice. The loft was perfect for 2 kids. The chalet is in a great location--minutes from the slopes in Breckenridge and great dining in Frisco. The owner was very easy to work with and the owner-provided wi-fi worked great (we didn't try to use the resort provided wi-fi).

Ski trip to Breck

  • 5 of 5

We arrived and we're delighted to find the chalet as described and in good order! No shortage of snow was had....we skied in powder. Due to all this great snow....we had to adjust the timing of our drive back down to Denver and owner was very understanding in the circumstances weather created.

The cozy tiger run community is a winter treat, but we even look more forward to seeing it in the summer. It's a beautiful setting along rover facing the slopes of Breck.

Thanks for a great getaway!
