The building dates from 1858, however, the internal accommodation is every inch 21st century living. Providing accommodation for up to 8 people in the form of 4 double or twin bedded rooms each with television, 2 with en-suite facilities, a further full bathroom and separate cloakroom; dining area - seats 8; gourmet kitchen with range cooker, and a large comfortable living area, with seating for 8, WiFi broadband and washing and drying facilities are in house.
Externally a large courtyard houses a secure storage facility for golf equipment, bikes, etc., and a front courtyard provides off street parking. A rear garden is there for relaxing in / BBQ.
Set in the grounds of historic Tranent Parish Manse, with easy access from the A1 motorway, the Stables provides an ideal luxury retreat or staging point for access to East Lothians Golf Courses countryside hiking and biking, sailing and windsurfing, and many other local attractions.

Great house in good location
Lovely spacious house in great location for exploring East Lothian and getting into Edinburgh.
Lovely house in convenient location for Edinburgh
We stayed for a week in Feb and couldn't find fault with the house or owners. Outside was freezing but the heating was brilliant and the beds warm and comfortable. The living space is large and open plan so with 5 adults and 2 kids it never felt crowded. The house is within 5 mins drive of train station and bus stops into Edinburgh and just off the A1 so easy driving north and south as needed. It was perfect for us to explore Edinburgh and East Lothian. The owner Alasdair was very helpful and communicated quickly to email enquires. Would recommend.
The Stables, Tranent
Our stay was everything we could have asked for. Mr Raitt was very helpful without being intrusive. The house is spacious, very well equipped, warm and cosy. We had 8 adults in our party yet we never felt crowded. I would have no reservations about highly recommending the house.

Catherine was there to meet us, fantastic house plenty of room for 8 of us, kitchen we'll equipped, bedrooms made up to our requirements lovely beds and facilities couldn't ask for anything else and Duncan was a star in his own right, thank you for a lovely week and the sunshine was an extra bonus x
Great stay with fellow golfers!
The Stables were perfect accommodations for our bucket list golf trip to Scotland with family and friends. Six guys had a very comfortable 3-night stay and easy booking with owner. The Stables were clean and convenient. Had a wonderful meal at Mercat Grill in Musselburgh our last night. Highly recommend!
