Located on sunny Potrero Hill, this two-story, stand-alone custom house combines luxurious living with a convenient location and spectacular views.

The owners live next door.

The house was built in 2000. It has 1 bedroom and 1.5 baths and sleeps 2-4 people. It is fully furnished with designer built-ins throughout. The rental is a stand-alone two-story house.

You will be welcomed with a complimentary bottle of California wine, seasonal fruit and flowers from our organic garden, and a selection of gourmet coffees.

Upstairs, you will find an open plan living/dining/cooking area with vaulted ceilings, wood paneling, powder room, balcony, and wide city and bay views.

The gourmet kitchen includes a glass top stove, oven, microwave, dishwasher, and large refrigerator/freezer. All countertops are granite. There is also a granite table in the dining area.

The living area has a comfortable reclining window seat, futon sofa bed, and a 40 inch flat screen 'smart' TV with cable. It opens onto a balcony with panoramic San Francisco skyline and views of SF Bay, the Bay Bridge, Oakland, Berkeley, and the East Bay hills. The balcony also overlooks our large garden where you can watch hawks, humming birds, migrating song birds, and even the famous San Francisco Parrots.

The downstairs master suite has a queen bed, with garden, and East Bay views, and a full bathroom ensuite (including large granite counters and a view from the shower). Closet and drawer space are ample. The owners provide hand soap and shampoo as well as all towels and bedding. All tbedding is professionally laundered.

The house is tiled throughout. There is access to a private shared garden filled with fruit trees, native plants, roses, herbs, and other flowers.

Convenient drive or walk to gourmet and natural grocery stores (Good Life and Whole Foods markets), restaurants, coffee shops, clothing shops and Christopher's (our terrific, neighborhood independent book store).

It is a 10 min drive to SF's two most renowned farmer's markets featuring local organic produce, meats, seafood, and crafts. We are also 10 minutes from the historic Mission District. It is 5 minute drive to UCSF Mission Bay, SF Design Center, ATT Baseball Park (Home to 2010/12/14 World Champion SF Giants!) and a 15 minute drive to SFO.

Plentiful street parking is available (with off-street parking also available for an extra fee) and there is a bus stop across the street for easy access to San Francisco's attractions.

The rental offers a high efficiency washer/dryer in the garage, high speed wireless internet and flat screen TVs upstairs and down with cable, and telephone with free local service.

No pets and non-smoking.

Note: There is an additional room available with a queen bed and full bathroom on the garden level. About Dan Feldman

Emily is a San Francicso native, biologist/environmental activist. Dan is a software entrepreneur. We are both semi-retired. We live in the house where Emily was born and raised, which is next door to the rental.

Why Dan Feldman chose San Francisco

When we moved back into my wife's home, we built the rental house for parents, family and friends. It was custom designed to take advantage of the views and to make guests comfortable and happy. Now we have decided to open the house for others to enjoy as well.

What makes this house unique

Potrero Hill is our home. We enjoy the quiet, the warmest weather in SF, the instant access to freeways and public transit, the proximity to Downtown, the Embarcadero, and the Mission District, and the many parks and gardens (some with panoramic views of the Golden Gate Bridge, Marin, and NW SF). The Hill offers a wide array of local independent shops and gourmet restaurants, all minutes from our home.

Beautiful house, beautiful location, beautiful views, but some details did not match up.

We are a family of cooks, our 11 year old daughter appears on the FoodNetwork and my wife is in culinary school. The kitchen is honestly not set up for cooking in. Regardless, for the money the kitchen should be better set up. Also the kitchen drawers were not very clean. We've stayed in other SF rentals and kitchens were "cooking in" friendly.

Windows dirty and given the views this was disappointing.

Wi-fi intermittent due to service issues which the owner addressed in a timely fashion, but the internet speed was very slow, almost like good old dial up.

Washer/dryer in the garage which was not self evident and laundry area was dirty and cramped around a car.

Given some of the issues of cleanliness I just hope the cleaning service does a better job for the next vacationers esp since the cleaning fee is paid by the renter.

Beautiful home in a quiet neighborhood with a wonderful view of the City. I have nothing but good things to say about my experience at this property. The accommodations are very nice and comfortable, the neighborhood very friendly, and the views amazing. Highly recommend staying here.

Great place in Portrero

We really enjoyed our stay here. The location is great with easy access via transit or vehicle. Parking was easy right in front of the house.The house itself had everything you need to make your stay comfortable. We only had a light breakfast there but the kitchen is well equipped. We liked the layout with the sleeping area down and the activity area up. Two bathrooms was nice to have. The upstairs area was quite large. With only two of us it was more than we needed but if there are more staying there, the extra space would be beneficial. The deck is small but it has a terrific view of the bay. It was pretty warm when we were there so we used the deck quite a bit. The house is well kept and clean. Having access to a washer and dryer was a real plus as we were there for a week. The area was safe and we had no concern with being out in the evening. There is a nice small area with restaurants nearby. We ate at four different restaurants there and were not disappointed. Be ready for a steep walk between there and the house, though. All in all highly recommended and we would definitely stay here again. Not a complaint but a note that there is no air conditioning. It got unusually hot (into the mid 80s) when we were there and the house got pretty warm as well. There's lot's of windows to open to cool it down but with the bus and other traffic on the street, having the windows open in the bedroom at night is not practical. I will emphasize that with the windows closed, noise was not an issue for sleeping.

Great property in great location! If you are considering this place, book it!

I love staying in Potrero Hill or Dogpatch because the weather is usually more reliable than the outer neighborhoods. Plus Dogpatch is very cool with lots of great eateries, and Potrero Hill offers great views and a local Whole Foods.

This is a great property, very spacious and high quality in construction. Awesome views from the little deck. Well furnished. I love the location although it can be 30 min drive to anywhere in the city not nearby. Dedicated parking spot is a plus.

It's high end in pricing, but not out of line for San Francisco and the space offered. Well worth it if you want a real pied a terre with full kitchen, spacious bedroom, all new, high end construction and finishes. A few minor details in presentation keep me from giving it 5 stars (I am in the hospitality business and see things many do not), but I have passed these along to the owner and trust they will be addressing them. Hope to give it 5 stars next time!

This home has a wonderful view with lots of windows in a nice neighborhood. There was everything we needed and the parking right in front is a nice perk. The owner greeted us when we arrived to make sure we knew where everything was and said to call or text with any questions. Great place!!!

Great family retreat with a killer view!

Dan and Emily's two story house on Potrero Hill was the perfect retreat for our family -and that includes twin teen boys who are hard to please. The location was perfect and the view simply stunning-especially from the shower and outdoor deck. Watching the Bay Bridge LED light display was a treat on a non-foggy night. We were all amazed how quiet the neighborhood was, how close amenities were, how easy it was to get around -and the parking spot was a plus. Kids loved the amount of power outlets to charge their devices, we loved the separate bedroom. A huge plus -a washer and dryer!

We walked to AT & T Stadium from the house -it was less than 2 miles away. A bit sketchy walking along the Caltrain fencing but only for about 6 blocks. Usually we used Uber or Lyft and a typical drive for the four of us was $14.00-20.00 one way to most places in the City.

I would highly recommend this house for anyone wanting to visit San Francisco but not really wanting to be in the City proper -Potrero Hill is a nice, residential neighborhood. It was fun watching people walk by on their way to work or yoga or to the grocery store. Another plus -Dan and Emily live next door and let us know if we needed anything, they were there to help. We have never used VRBO before but we are devotees now!
