About Steve McComb
We live next door to the cabin in the main house. The cabin has been on the property for about 50 years, hunters used to come up and stay in the cabin to hunt. The area is called Moose Meadows. When we bought the property the cabin was just a shell and we have been working on it for about 8 years. We put in a bathroom, kitchen cabinets, flooring and insulation in the ceiling. We hope you enjoy your stay with us.
Steve McComb purchased this Cabin in 1992
Why Steve McComb chose Whitefish

What a great place to stay! Steve was an excellent host, and the cabin had everything we needed! Located close to Whitefish, Kalispell, and Glacier. We will definitely stay there again if we’re ever back in the area.
Charming Cabin with Charming Host!
My husband and I stayed at this cabin 10 days ago. The weather was crazy -- LOTS and LOTS of snowfall and blowing winds but our host took wonderful care of us -- made sure the driveway AND the road were plowed for us (he did this himself!) and he even started a fire for us BEFORE we arrived so the cabin would be toasty warm when we got there. The cabin itself is adorable and will please anyone looking for a cozy getaway. The loft bedroom is charming and the linens were wonderful! Lots of deer on the property too -- a true Montana paradise.
THANKS, Steve for being such a wonderful host! We WILL be back!!!
Beautiful & peaceful
We loved the cabin, loved the surrounding area and had a great time there. Steve is an excellent host. We will be back!
Quiet & Peaceful Getaway
The cutest cabin out in the woods but still close to Whitefish and Kalispell. Beautiful scenery and had everything we could have needed. Steve was very nice and helpful. We had a wonderful stay and hope to be back.
Wonderful little piece of Heaven
This little cabin was just what we wanted. It was beautiful, had a great view from the property, had a most charming host, and was reasonable in price. We really enjoyed Steve's stories of the local animals, and though we did not get to see any but the deer, we enjoyed the thought that Walt might just make an appearance. We did hear an Elk bugle once, and an owl several nights. But the most wonderful thing that happened was the 6-inch snow that fell. Not being from an area that boasts snow, it turned an already beautiful place into a complete winter wonderland. I simply could not believe the quiet beauty of the transformation this brought to the area.
Now about the cabin. Steve had all of the spices with which one might need to cook, and popcorn, hot chocolate, and even had pre-made-up waffle mix for the waffle iron. I was so pleased. He also recommended a steak house that 3 ladies run, and if you go there, do not fail to get the name from him---------WONDERFUL.
If you want to get a real taste of the Montana hospitality, this is the place for you. Five stars is not a high enough rating so I give it a 6-star rating.
Thanks Steve for sharing your haven with folks like us.
CCC from Ga.
We went to Montana for our Honeymoon. We were able to call Steve the night before we were to get on our plane, we had just heard about the wildfires! He was so nice and helpful and told us how close/far we were from the closest wildfire so that we could decide if it would be an issue or not. We decided to go ahead and make the trip. While it was smokey on our trip it was still absolutely wonderful. The cabin was perfectly in between Whitefish and Kalispell, which both towns have great places to visit and sights to see! Steve also told us about Lake Tally, the lake you will be at when staying at the cabin. Great to go see! He was very helpful when we asked for recommendations on places to eat or where he thought we should venture to next! Overall, it was an amazing experience and we are already planning another trip!
