Located in the heart of the Nicolet National Forest on Lake Lucerne, Step back in time for that perfect 'rustic' getaway of days gone by. This cabin is named Sunfish, and is tucked away on 16 acres of private woodland. This three-season cabin is located on the west shore of beautiful Lake Lucerne, a 1,100 acre, crystal clear, spring fed lake. The cabin has been completely refurbished and is located in Crescent Bay. Come and enjoy the crystal clear water of Lake Lucerne.
Bring your own boat and enjoy everything the lake has to offer. Fish, swim, ski, snorkel, boat or just relax on the water. Go to bed at night listening to the Loons, and begin your mornings by watching the sun rise from the dock. Anytime of the day, you can just sit and relax on the deck and watch the endless wild life, take a walk in the woods or star gaze at night.
Absolutely no tents are allowed on the properties.
Pets allowed w/security deposit of $250.00
FISHING: We open the cabins up when the ice moves off the lake. We can usually have them open and ready for guests when Fishing Season opens.
HUNTING: When summer activities end, bird and bow hunting begins. Grouse, Pheasant Quail, Duck and Turkey are just some of the birds that are hunted in the area. We keep the cabins open thru the end of September (or weather permitting into October) to accommodate hunters.
BIRD WATCHING: Bald Eagles, Loons, Ducks, Canadian Geese, Blue Heron, Falcons, Grouse, Hawks, Mourning Doves, Northern Cardinal, Owls and some 300 more species for the serious bird watcher.
STAR GAZING: The sky at night, viewed from the deck, beach, dock or your boat is breathtaking (worth the trip alone), and if you're fortunate enough to be vacationing when the Northern Lights are active, you will be hooked for life!
READING & RELAXING: Sit out on the deck with a good book or just sit and take in the fresh air and sweet smell of pine. Now that is Northern Wisconsin!
AREA EVENTS & ACTIVITIES: Each Wednesday night there is a “FREE” waterski show at Waters Edge Lodge, just down the lake. Come by boat or car, it’s a great way to cap off the day on the lake. Just bring your own chair! Each August, the ski club hosts the largest figure 8 barefoot waterski tournament in the world, known as Footstock. This is located on Peshtigo Lake, just north of town on Highway 32. The World Championship Off-Road Race, Brush Run, sponsored by Traaxas, is held twice in the summer at the Crandon International Raceway. The races are in mid-June and Labor Day Weekend. Watch some of the best off road racing in the country. The last Saturday in July is “Art in the Park” and Kentuck Days. Shop the vendors, listen to Bluegrass Music and enjoy some of the history that the community has to offer. Each weekend throughout the summer offers a unique festival, the Wild Rice Festival, Corn Festival, Polish Fest, Country Fest, Laona Soup Festival, the Lions Club Beach Party or the Biker Rally Weekend, there are just too many to mention. If that's not enough, you can take a trip back in time with a ride on a vintage steam train. Head for Laona (10 miles) and climb aboard the famed Lumberjack Steam Train for a journey into the late 1800's and spend time at 'Camp 5', a turn of the century logging camp. What we do know, is that your biggest decision will be to either leave this beautiful lake for the day, ... or stay on it.
Crandon (just 5 miles away), is a charming town offering Restaurants, Antique Shops, Gift and Clothing Shops, and a Historical Museum. Tricia’s Treasures, on Main Street, a local hot spot for lunch and shopping, offers what is arguably the best Panini sandwich in Northern Wisconsin and any coffee drink you can think of. Forget Starbucks!! Water’s Edge Lodge, just a half mile south on the lake is a great place for lake side dining. Come by boat or car; eat on the dock or in the main lodge. Friday offers their all you care to eat fish fry with soup and salad bar. Open 7 days a week with nightly specials. If you enjoy golfing, we are located just 8 miles away from the 18 hole, (Public) Nicolet Country Club Golf course. Last but not least, there is plenty of gambling available. The Mole Lake Casino is just 10 miles away and the Carter Potawatomi Casino is just 18 miles away.
Clean, quite & comfortable, come start a new family tradition.
Having grown up on Lake Lucerne, we now live in South Florida (Naples) but continue to spend our summers there. My parents, Ken & Georgia Landgraf owned both Twin Maples Resort and Radiola Resort in the 70's, 80's & early 90's. We currently have 3 cabins available for rent from opening of fishing in May, and thru bird hunting in September.
Dennis Landgraf purchased this cabin in 1997
Deep in the woods, very private and only steps away from the beach. Clean and very well maintained.
Secluded and private.
This cabin is on one of the best, most pristine lakes in northern Wisconsin. They say the water is still drinkable and it sure looks it. The beach was great, the kids loved swimming off the dock. We had a fire in the fire pit most nights and enjoyed the private seclusion that this cabin offered. The dock was perfect for my boat with great tie downs. We fished every day and at the end of the week had a great fish fry. The view is great, with many sightings of eagles. We loved our morning coffee on the deck as the sun came up. It truly is God's country on lake Lucerne and we look forward to coming back every year.
We stayed in Sunfish and appreciate the owner's attention to cleanliness in the cabin.
We booked the cabin in Spring and looked forward to it since then. We were not disappointed. The weather was great and the lake is crystal clear. Although it was chilly, it was by far the most refreshing we have ever been in. My morning swim was a treat. The cabin was as expected, very clean and comfortable. We rented a small fishing boat from the owner, which was perfect for my husband and me. The location of the cabin is ideal, tucked in the woods with a view of the lake, nice beach and dock. If we were not on the lake, we were walking through the woods or just relaxing on the deck. We enjoyed the ski show on Wednesday night, at the Restaurant down the road. It was a great vacation. Thank you!
Exactly as pictured, cute, cozy and clean. My Husband, two kids and I have been vacationing in northern Wisconsin for the past 11 years, and have stayed at many places, none of which were as private as this cabin. Deep in the woods, yet right on the lake made this an ideal vacation for the kids. We stayed in “Sunfish”, which was furnished as pictured. The cabin was spotless and included everything we needed. Coffee on the deck in the morning was a treat. The beds were comfortable. We loved the fact that there were DVD’s and board games provided to help when the kids were in for the night. We brought our boat and spent most of each day on the beach and lake, swimming, skiing, fishing and just enjoying the lake. We had heard about this lake from some friends, but really didn’t understand how clean the water really is - much different from the lakes around Milwaukee. You really can see down as far as the sun shines! We made it down to Waters Edge Lodge by boat on Friday night to have their Fish Fry and ate on the dock. The kids loved it and we did too. The campfires at night were also special for the kids; S'mores, star gazing, and ghost stories which will make for some sweet summer memories. I’m happy to recommend this cabin, if not for the fact that there are not cabins like this around anymore. We’re coming back!
Located on the West Shore of Lake Lucerne. Very private and secluded in the woods. "3" Waterfront cabins with dock.
