Centrally located in beautiful San Luis Obispo, California this quaint cottage is perfect for soaking up the SLO life. Whether, you just want to sit at home and sip cocktails on the porch, walk downtown for farmers market, walk to gus’s in the railroad district or head out adventuring on one of our beautiful hikes, you are sure to enjoy all that SLO living has to offer.
The central coast has it all from shopping, beaches, adventuring and wine tasting. Enjoy a day of kayaking in avila or a hike up madonna mountain then come home to a little piece of heaven. Pick lemons, oranges, apples or peaches from the garden trees when fruiting.
The market is just a few minutes walk to stock up on all your favorites to cook a meal in a gourmet kitchen equipped with an original O'Keefe and Merritt gas stove or just sip some wine on the back deck with some fresh strawberries found at the thursday night farmer’s market.
The house has two sunny bedrooms and one bathroom. One bedroom has a sumptuous foam king bed, one has a double bed, and there is a sleeper in the living room that accommodates one. The bathroom features a claw foot tub, soap stone counters, tilting mirror, white fluffy towels and robes to luxuriate in after a long soak or refreshing shower.
Kitchen stocked with basic kitchenware and spices. House is minutes walking distance to black horse coffee shop, Woodstock's pizza, Firestone grill, railroad district restaurants, Gus’s sandwich shop (fav), old Fremont theatre, the first ever solar powered movie theatre and indie film famous, palm theatre, train station, hiking and biking trails, double feature drive in and freeway close.
Originally from the South, have been blessed with the opportunity to live around the world but fell in love with the SLO life. Love that you can be up a mountain, hiking in minutes from most downtown locations.

It did not take long after moving to the Central Coast that I realized Downtown SLO was the perfect location as I strolled past the charming houses and interestingly unique shops where everyone is friendly.
SLO Toro Cottage has the old charm of a bungalow nestled behind a white picket fence a short walk from all of the downtown activities. Inside I fell in love with the fir floors, the claw foot tub and the most darling vintage stove.
Updated and clean close to downtown walking everywhere , need more paper products and hot pads also sponge for cleaning ,love dishwasher we all loved it hated to leave!
We decided to try a VRBO for our stay visiting our Cal Poly son and couldn't have been happier with this adorable cottage. The cottage has great location downtown and so close to everything. We did drive when we went downtown, but parking is so cheap it just made it easier. The cottage had great character and a lovely ambiance. What we enjoyed most of all was the back porch. When visiting your kids at college, there is a lot of downtime in between events/activities. This gave us a great place to just "hang" vs waiting around in a hotel room or his apartment. Many nights we were drinking a glass of wine waiting for him to come over and we didn't leave for hours, just chatting on our deck. Reminded us of home. So much easier to chat in the quiet of your own space vs a restaurant or kids apartment. Great place! We will definitely be renting this pace again.
