Large 4 Bedroom Stone Rancher, Sleeps 14, Basement for Recreation, Fire Pit
If you simply need a break, you'll love to know that Lincoln House is set back in a private drive with beautiful views over Lancaster County farmlands.
This semi-secluded stone rancher (built in 1951) is set in the middle of a spacious 2 acre property on a hill away from Lincoln Highway with a large back lawn adjacent to a quiet pasture. It is only miles away from popular attractions.
The 3648 sq ft property itself has plenty of parking. Steps lead up to the main floor which contains a spacious open-plan kitchen, dining and lounge area. Bedding is provided for the 4 bedrooms. Towels and bathroom tissue are available in the 2 bathrooms. In the basement you will discover a large open-plan recreation area with a flat screen TV, a large table to play games, a pool table and an extra space for sleeping. The laundry has a washing machine and a tumble dryer for your convenience.
During the typical hotel stay, various members of your family would have been isolated from each other or crowded into a room at night. In contrast, our home offers you the opportunity to spend quality time together.

You may be lucky and see our groundhog, squirrel, rabbit and deer hanging out on the property. And then in June... our fireflies (aka lightning bugs) put on a spectacular show every night in the high trees surrounding the property line. No Hollywood or Disney show can beat this display!

About Susan Botes
Susan Botes, new hostess, is a contented local resident of picturesque Amish country in Lancaster County and it will be her joy to offer you a stay in this lovely guesthouse.
Susan Botes purchased this House in 2013
Why Susan Botes chose Paradise Township
Lincoln House is a private, semi-secluded stone rancher, situated on a hill in rural Lancaster County, at the edge of large cities such as Lancaster and Philadelphia but near quaint little towns like Intercourse, Bird-in-Hand and Gap. In this case, the real estate agent mantra: "location, location, location", definitely applies. With horse-drawn buggies, vehicles, rollerblading Amish youth, and Amish men on scooters commuting to local jobs, it is truly unique, peaceful, quiet, and simply lovely. It is the perfect spot for a wonderful vacation that will suite every member of the family.
What makes this House unique
This semi-secluded home offers the best of both worlds. On the one hand, a 50's style stone rancher set in the middle of a spacious property on a hill away from Lincoln Highway with a large back lawn adjacent to a quiet pasture, and on the other, only miles from shopping centers, theme parks, local buggy rides, antique shops, and other popular attractions. The property itself has plenty of parking. From the birds singing in the trees, to the horses in the back pasture, this property is the perfect place to start capturing and experiencing the essence of Amish Country in the midst of rural Lancaster County. You may be lucky and see our groundhog, squirrel, rabbit and deer hanging out on the property. And then in June... our fireflies (aka lightning bugs) put on a spectacular show every night in the high trees surrounding the property line.

Great house and location!
House was in a great location, a few minutes down the stores, sight and Sound theater and Hershey’s farm. House hand more than enough space for our family. Will defiantly recommend it.
I loved the time we spent at this place
The overall experience of me and my friends that we spent at Their place was amazing. We made a fire, roosted marshmallows, we had a absolutely amazing weekend Thanks to Susan and Heinrich. I’d recommend them to anyone who’s interested.
Fantastic Home Away from Home!
This is the perfect place to stay when visiting Lancaster, PA! Sitting atop a hill just off the highway, you are close to the activities, tourist sites, the quaint back roads as well as close enough to downtown for city happenings. There are many top qualities about this home; it is super clean, it is NOT cluttered and very roomy, comfortable bedding, well outfitted, great hosts, etc.. It is easy for multiple guests or families to share this home and not feel crowded. There are different spaces for several groups of people to connect. What a great place for a retreat or girls weekend! There is plenty of room in the driveway, the pool table is fun, laundry room is available, the dining room table is amply big, and the outdoor fire pit is ready to go (Sadly, it was too windy and cold during our stay to use.)The home is outfitted with all that you might need. We really enjoyed the coffee and tea as surprise finds. The hosts have done a fantastic job preparing this home for guests. I very much appreciate the proactive communication with our hosts. They are friendly and helpful. We would definitely stay here again. The windows allow lovely light into the home... we all felt so comfortable here. There is just no down side, don't hesitate to book!
Great, central location
Great house and owners. House is centrally located to all attractions and has lots of room for everyone. Owner is very friendly and attentive to your needs or concerns. Would definitely stay here again!
The house was nice and clean and very comfortable.
We really enjoyed staying in. Everything was perfect. A lot of space for kids which was very important to us. Warm and cozy .
Spacious but Old house- Bang for the bucks
Clean and big house on the outskirt of Lancaster. WE were a group of 14 and there were adequate space for all. Although the house was old with worn out furniture, inefficient heating and torn pool board but the price was damn good. We enjoyed our stay and the owner Susan was really nice and helpful.
Lincoln House is close to quaint little towns such as Intercourse and Bird-in-Hand, two outlet malls, theme parks, local buggy rides, antique shops, restaurants, several state parks, and other popular attractions. The large cities Lancaster and Harrisburg to the west and Philadelphia and New York City to the east could each easily be a day-outing. Picturesque and charming towns such as Strasburg, the village of Intercourse, Paradise, and Bird-in-Hand are only minutes away. The Fire and Ice Festival in Lititz is usually scheduled in February. For serious shoppers, the Rockvale and Tanger Outlets are only minutes away, not to mention all the quilt shops available. The Sight & Sound Millennium Theater, Strasburg Rail Road, the Railroad Museum of Pennsylvania, Dutch Wonderland Amusement Park, Hershey Chocolate World, and the Shady Maple Smorgasbord and Farm Market are just a few of the popular attractions in the area. Cherry Crest Farms is 4 minutes away: a farm with a 5-acre corn maze, pumpkin patch, slides, wagon rides, a petting zoo & kids' festivals. If you are a sport enthusiast, you will be happy to know that the Spooky Nook Sports complex is reached in 21 minutes. The Old Order Amish constitute a significant cultural presence because a large number of farms are owned by Amish families. These small scale farms often have small shops and dot the gently rolling and open landscape around the village. The horse-drawn buggies and vehicles occasionally compete for space with rollerblading Amish youth and Amish men on scooters commuting to local jobs, which in itself is a huge attraction. The Annual Spring Sale and Auction of the Gordonville Fire Company and Ambulance Association, known locally as a mud sale, is held the second Saturday of March, and is the largest event of its kind on the East Coast. Many other mud sales are held in the area. Thousands of people attend to bid on farm machinery, horses, quilts, carriages, old stuff, and antiques. Antique shops are everywhere, with the closest right next door to Lincoln House: Jake’s Country Trading Post. You could literally just walk there and buy some lovely gifts. After only scratching the surface of all the fun available so close by, we still have had some guests debate whether to rather just stay home and enjoy the quiet of this lovely house.
