About the property

A Modern Log Cabin With A Spectacular View Of Grandfather Mountain And The John'

A modern log cabin with a spectacular view of Grandfather Mountain and the John's River Gorge! The hot tub on the back deck overlooks the John's River Gorge with fantastic stars at night! That's not all; The cabin features a variety of wood on floors, walls and ceiling and stained glass accents throughout the house. The large wood-burning stone fireplace offers a calming touch to the living room. On the main level you'll find the great room, a guest bathroom and two guest bedrooms; one with a queen bed and one with 2 twins. Walk upstairs to find a loft with a phenomenal view. Just around the corner is the spacious master bedroom with a king bed. In total the cabin sleeps 8-10, in three bedrooms plus a loft with two full bathrooms. Outside on the deck is a hot tub, which has an excellent reputation for viewing of the stars on clear nights. The cabin is modern and equipped with satellite, WiFi, DVD, outdoor speakers, wrap around deck on three sides, washer/dryer, as of June 22nd this year there is new central air conditioning main level as well as dedicated AC for the Master Bedroom & Loft and a gas grill. Small pets are allowed upon request with a pet deposit.

About Christopher OConnor

I'm an avid hiker, biker, skier with a family that greatly enjoys the woods and great outdoors.

Christopher OConnor purchased this cabin in 1998

Why Christopher OConnor chose Bailey Camp

I saw this property some time ago when I was riding my road bike through the area all the time. We decided to purchase it so that we always had our own little bit of heaven that we could visit at anytime. We've worked on upgrading and improving the property every year, adding more deck, the hot tub and more.

What makes this cabin unique

O'Connors Cabin is located on a county maintained road that goes nowhere yet is 5 minutes to the center of Blowing Rock. So whether you want to sit secluded on the private deck, hike the many trails off the road or drive to town for a fantastic dinner, its all right there at your disposal.

Our stay in Blowing Rock

  • 5 of 5

We had a great time in the cabin. It is located on a quite dirt road but conveniently located to town. We loved the fresh air and absolute peaceful silence at night. The jacuzzi with great view was a hit with the kids. It's a great place to relax. Make sure to bring necessities like toilet paper, paper towels, trash bags, dish soap/sponge, etc. There is a grocery store located just a few miles away. Thanks to the owner for checking in with us to make sure everything was going well.

get away from it all

  • 4 of 5

Relax in this cozy cabin and enjoy stunning views of Grandfather Mountain. Fireplace, hot tub, and so quiet you can feel the way life used to be (and should be) . Tricky winding roads but the views are worth it.

Best View

This was our second fall vacation in the cabin. The view from the deck is perfect, facing Grandfather Mountain and beautiful sunsets. The cabin is comfortable and meets all your needs.

Word of caution: Be careful on the stairs and driveway.

If you are looking for a house with a view, a place for peace and restoration, this is it. We have been here twice, and love it. Chris was very accommodating, making sure we were settled in. He was very responsive. Highly recommend this place.

Morning, noon, and night--------Grandfather and "Grandmother" are always there for you! Whether you are enjoying a glass of wine, dinner on the deck, or viewing the stars from the hot tub, the world is yours! Perfect location- quiet and private, yet close to downtown Blowing Rock. Owner's Response: You guys were fantastic truth be told! We had in your 60 day stay the pump break down and while I did everything to fix it ASAP, you guys were so nice about it all! Thank you ... Appreciate all your kindness! Hope the Hurricane spared your home in Florida. Chris
