Ian and I have been friends for almost 15 years and business partners since 2013, when we founded 'The Central'. We bought and remodeled these unique townhomes to provide our guests with a comfortable space to stay during their vacation. Ian has been operating a successful vacation rental business on Capitol Hill for the last 7 years and I am excited to partner with him on this venture.

Great location for minimalist apartment!

Amazing location! Bus service to this neighborhood is amazing - a 10-minute walk and half-hour ride get you literally anywhere in Seattle. Groceries are a bit far away, so plan that walk accordingly. Restaurants/cafes on 12th Street provide a lot of fun nearby options.

The apartment is hyper-clean and very spartan. Don't expect any little knick-knacks cluttering up the place, and likewise be sure to bring anything you need. I wish I'd remembered a 1/8" headphone cable for the portable iHome speaker (or bring an iOS device with AirPlay abilities), a pen, and pad of paper for game scoring. Plan to buy all ingredients you need for cooking - the kitchen has nearly nothing stocked. Note that if you have a loud & large group, this space doesn't really provide anywhere for group members to "escape" - you can hear upstairs conversations from the downstairs bedrooms, and the upstairs living area is one continuous space that comfortably fits 4-6 people (we stretched to 7, it wasn't too bad, but not everyone could sit at the dinner table).

Note to owner: Please check on lighting. Several lamps over the kitchen work area were out, making cooking difficult. We looked around for spare bulbs to replace them on our own but didn't find any.

Great location!

The townhouse is in a great location! It's in a nice and quiet neighborhood, and is a pleasant 1 mile walk to Trader Joe's, or the Central Co-Op, and a bit more to Safeway. It's also walkable to the Seattle Pinball Museum, which was a ton of fun with our family, and it was on several convenient bus lines that our family used a lot on the way to/from downtown (Pike's Place, Space Needle, airport, etc.)

The house is also very nice and cozy, with a lovely gas fireplace, open kitchen and living space, so the cooks don't collide with others, and has comfortable beds and temperature controls in each room, which worked great with our family that had a variety of people from cold and warm climates to adjust their rooms to their ideal sleep temperatures as needed.

The kitchen was stocked with all the basics you'd need, coffee pot, frying pan, pots, spatula, knives, cutting board, glasses, plates, bowls, silverware, etc. We cooked in a few times, and the only thing we didn't find were measuring cups (but we still successfully made apple turnovers without them :-))

Seattle Stay

The rental itself was very nice, modernized and clean, although reeking of bleach. The location was nice and parking was adequate. The only complaint I have is the owners were not very accommodating at all, rather unfriendly and brisk. The rental itself was superb.

Very clean and conveniently located.

Overall our stay was wonderful. The beds were comfortable and the showers were good.

My only complaint is that the first few days with temperatures in the 80s-90s the living room got really hot and uncomfortable even with the fan blowing.
