Our group of 15 rented the whole Guest House for this past May Long Weekend for a Stagette. This place was great. Rustic and welcoming- it fit out group perfectly. The main living area was open which was great for our large group. The owner and staff were fantastic and SO friendly.
We are already trying to find another reason to come back ;)
Ucluelet is located in a coastal temperate rain forest, on a peninsula jutting out into the Pacific Ocean on Vancouver Island's west coast. The forest goes right down to the ocean and allows for many breathtaking hikes. People often come here to enjoy our amazing year round surf opportunities. Its a great place to learn surfing as the beaches are sandy bottomed and there is always a 'beginner wave' to be found. For those who already have the stoke there are more challenging waves, especially between September and June. We offer surf lesson, rentals and advice daily. The whales live here and they are so majestic to see either on a whale watching tour or at a distance from our hiking trails. Bear watching is rising in popularity as several companies offer this at low tide when the bears are at the shoreline and visible from the water. To get a close up view of our aquatic flora and fauna, a trip to the Ucluelet Aquarium is a must. Saying that, of course all of the restaurants here have a great seafood menu to savour. Think about spending the afternoon sailing in the islands and sipping wine and watching the sea otters play. Sit on the local beaches and enjoy a beach fire with friends (old and new!) and watch the waves while the sun sets. All of this beautiful environment really makes the locals friendly and relaxed to visitors! Other must do activities is heading to Ukee Bikes for a bike rental and getting some fresh air. Right next door is Ukee Dogs who make amazing cinnamon buns. On foggy days its great to go to Kennedy Lake and enjoy the sun while dipping in a the cool waters and watching the clouds float over the mountains. Why not take a stand up paddle board to the lake and find a secluded beach? The world renowned Broken Islands Group is just a boat ride away and are so great for kayaking around and viewing wildlife up close.
