About Colleen Blacklock
I love to travel and to stay home and garden. My mother taught me a lot about plants and gardening. She still knows every botanical name and so much about each plant and how they grow. She also taught me the value of home and creating a beautiful sanctuary to live in and share with others. She was a health practitioner and now I am too and I believe that our environment can be something that nurtures and inspires us. We want to share our love of beauty and nature with you.
Colleen Blacklock purchased this House in 2001
Why Colleen Blacklock chose Oneonta
This is my mother's beautiful home. She purchased it so she could live part of the year near me and my children as they were growing up. Her passion has always been gardening and she has put in an extensive botanical garden with many special specimens of both horticultural and medicinal value. Now we have decided to share this house and the garden with others so they may enjoy the property as much as we have.
What makes this House unique
We hope that you will enjoy this peaceful and beautiful environment and the natural beauty of the gardens and the comfort of the lovely house will help you feel rejuvenated and happy.

Cooperstown All Star Village Retreat
The location and closeness to our destination was superb. The cottage was just right for our needs. We could not have found a better place for our time in the area!
It was a nice place to stay while visiting All Star Village.
We had such a nice stay at Rose Cottage. Colleen was very friendly and accommodating. The house is so beautiful and peaceful and the backyard was pure Zen. Everything you need for your stay is already there for your use. The location is perfect for All Star Village, about 5 minutes away. We were so happy to have found this place!
Our stay at this adorable cottage was comfortable, convenient, cozy and memorable. We enjoyed the gourmet kitchen, dinners on the screened porch, overlooking lovely gardens, comfortable beds, free WiFi, and hiking the adjacent scenic trails. We took advantage of some excellent nearby restaurants, breweries and visited historic sites on Otsego lake. Next time, we hope to kayak on the Susquehanna, which runs through Oneonta. Colleen was the perfect hostess, orienting us to the house, and local sites of interest. We definitely plan to return next year!
