*** WELCOME TO BLUE RIDGE BLISS ***

Imagine your own private acre of mountain paradise, just off the Blue Ridge Parkway and only minutes from downtown. Welcome to Blue Ridge Bliss!

This home truly satisfies everyone, for a quiet time to relax and unwind, for a great home base with lots to do but still very close to shops and events, or even for those seeking an adventure getaway with skiing and cycling just minutes away.

Inside, enjoy an open floor plan with floor to ceiilng stone fireplace in the living room area, large dining table, and a kitchen with room for everyone to help, plus a pub table to relax while pouring over recipes.

The main level also has three bedrooms. The master bedroom has a king bed and features a large soaking tub in the master bath. The second bedroom on this level has a queen bed, and the third bedroom is great for the kids to share with a queen bed plus a bunk with two twins. For indoor fun, Blue Ridge Bliss has a ping pong table, books, games and movies, and streaming TV options throughout the home.

Outside, there are so many ways to enjoy the mountains! Relax on the large covered deck looking out across the pond, or head out to the back deck for a soak in the large hot tub while trying to count all the stars at night. Build a fire in the fire ring and roast s'mores and hot dogs, or fish in your own private pond. Best of all, you are less than a mile from the Blue Ridge Parkway for cycling, or some cross country skiing on snowy winter days when they close the Parkway to traffic.

About Wendy

I am an Appalachian alumni and local to the area and love raising my family here in the NC mountains. I am a business broker and licensed NC realtor and we are always on the go. We love this house and so do many vacationers who have chosen these beautiful Appalachian mountains. It is perfect to offer for other families to enjoy. We are excited to welcome you to Blowing Rock!

Wendy purchased this house in 2000

Why Wendy chose Blue Ridge Mountains

We really fell in love with the setting of this home. It is close to all the local attractions and yet outside of the crowds for privacy. There is ample parking and the driveway is very easy to access. Enjoy all four seasons with the pond and the hot tub.

What makes this house unique

It is unique because you can access the Blue Ridge parkway for all of the outdoor adventures like hiking, climbing, canoeing or a scenic drive over the viaduct where you can envision to be in a car commercial while enjoying the stunning view. This house is centrally located between all the best dining, entertainment and snow sport attractions that Blowing Rock, Boone, Banner Elk, and Beech Mountain have to offer. Don't forget to visit Grandfather mountain!

Guestbook comments from the owner

Thank you for opening your beautiful home to us. This was an exceptional place to stay. We had a relaxing getaway. The home has a large floor plan, but is warm and welcoming. It is quiet and secluded, located away from the hustle and bustle, yet only a short drive for dining and shopping in quaint Blowing Rock. Wendy was exceptional as an owner. She is extremely accommodating and easy to work with. I would definitely recommend this rental to others and would rent from her again without hesitation. This is what VRBO was meant to be!

Last Minute Getaway

  • 5 of 5

I decided very last minute that our family needed some time to unplug. I began looking at houses knowing that it would be hard to find someone who would work with me so last minute. The owner of this house was beyond accommodating. She was very responsive and flexible with the length of our stay.

The house itself was fantastic. Very clean and well appointed with anything you could need. We enjoy cooking and had everything we needed to prepare meals. The location was quiet and private but not far from great activities and food. The property has great outdoor spaces with the covered deck and pond with a fire pit. It gave us a lot of options to enjoy the outdoors.

The owner followed up with us during our stay to make sure things were going well. I have never experienced that with past rentals and it was greatly appreciated.

If you want the perfect rental, look no further! The house is more than I expected and the owner makes planning extremely stress free.

Great Property

  • 5 of 5

We stayed over Memorial Day weekend and the house was great. Very secluded but a short ride into town. We also loved having the pond out front as it kept our kids busy with fishing and other things. We could also relax and watch them from the deck above. The inside of the house was plenty for our group of of nine, as there was some additional room downstairs if needed. Would definitely rent again as Wendy was very easy to work with. She even allowed us to check in early.

Lovely property and relaxing stay!

  • 5 of 5

We booked this as a relatively last-minute, Easter getaway for our family of 5, plus Mac the Yellow Lab. Wendy was most accommodating, and everyone enjoyed the home. Although it is fairly close to the road, there is plenty of privacy. The fenced back yard allowed us to let the dog out without leashing him every time, which is very convenient! The location is very convenient to Blowing Rock; it is only about a 10-minute drive.

An Owner Who Truly Cares And Goes Above And Beyond

  • 5 of 5

Unfortunately, we have not had the pleasure of staying in this lovely property because it was already booked during the time our family had planned our vacation.

This review is about the owner of this property: Wendy.

We had planned a New Year's family vacation last Spring and had booked a cabin in Gatlinburg, TN many months in advance. We found out a month before our planned trip that a wildfire had burned our vacation cabin to the ground. We were extremely concerned that our vacation would have to be canceled.

Although the dates we wanted to stay here were not available, Wendy volunteered to ask around and see if she could find any others that were still available. The very same day, within hours, I received a text from Wendy with 5 other potential rentals for us to consider. She also kept following up to make sure everything worked out for us.

We were able to find a very lovely rental from one of Wendy's suggestions, and as a result, our family vacation was saved.

There was no incentive for Wendy to do this for complete strangers, other than just sending "good vibes" our way. I truly believe the property is a true reflection of the owner and for someone to go out of their way to help us out validates how well she takes care of her property and how important her guests' experience is.

We plan on returning again soon and Wendy will be the first property owner we call. Thanks again Wendy for all of your help!
