A beautiful apartment in one of the best areas of Leblon next to lots of bars and restaurants and a short walk from Dias Ferreira the street with the best restaurants in Rio. The apartment has 2 large bedrooms with queen size beds, 3 bathrooms with showers, 2 verandas with a view of Cristo Redentor, Wifi, 3 HD TVs, home theater with Blu Ray, complete kitchen, washer, dryer, swimming pool and small gym in the building, 24 hour doorman, basically anything you need. We have lived here comfortably for 4 years and are now moving to another city to work.
I am an American married to a Brazilian. I grew up in Boston, and then after college (at Carnegie Mellon and then Parsons School of Design) I moved to Amsterdam where I lived almost 20 years. I have an apartment in Amsterdam that is now rented out as well. I started visiting Rio in January 2002 and I fell in love with it right away. Rio is the most beautiful city I have ever seen and the culture there is amazing. It is truly a 24 hour city. You can see soccer games that start at 4 am in Flamengo, and Luaus on the beach that only end when the sun comes up. Cariocas are always singing and dancing and I immediately felt at home. At the beginning of 2013 I received a job offer in Recife in the northeast of Brazil so I picked up and moved there. Since I am not in Rio right now, I am renting out our apartment in Rio.
Katherine M Darbeloff purchased this apartment in 2009
I have been visiting Rio since 2002 and moved there in 2008 to marry my husband. We have lived in many neighborhoods in the Zona Sul (South Zone) of Rio. They are all wonderful neighborhoods, but when we decided to buy, we wanted to be a short walk from the beach, near a lot of things to do, and safe to walk at any hour. Leblon, which is the best neighborhood in Rio covers all of that and more. It is an expensive neighborhood, but it is a wonderful place to live and you can walk to have an amazing meal, or a great drink, or exercise at Lagoa, or sit on the beach. It has everything.
Our apartment is amazing. Even on a incredibly hot night, there is a breeze on the balcony, and I love to grab a glass of wine and take in the view and relax. There is a Hortifruti, a shop that sells amazing fruits and vegetables a block away and on Thursday mornings there is a farmer's market and an organic market within a block of our apartment. Dias Ferreira, the street in Rio with the best restaurants is a 5 minute walk away. The bedrooms in our apartment are really large and there is always light in the apartment and a great breeze if you open the balcony doors. We have 3 bathrooms with showers so if we come back from the beach with friends everyone can take a shower and get ready at the same time. There is a washer and dryer in the apartment, or if you would prefer there is a laundry service in the building. The apartment is air conditioned, but we almost never use it. Just in the middle of the summer when sometimes the heat becomes unbearable. If you like to take a walk or run Lagoa de Rodrigo de Freitas is a close walk, and you can join the locals running or walking around the lagoon. There are also places to stop and eat or have a drink. If you have a car there is also a parking place that comes with the apartment in the garage of the building.
The apartment is next to Conde Bernadotte, a street filled with bars and restaurants, there are 2 supermarkets close by, one 24 -hour. Dias Ferreira, the street with the best restaurants in Rio is a 5 minute walk away. The beach is 4 blocks away and the Lagoa de Rodrigo de Freitas is a 5 minute walk away with the Lagoon Center with a cinema, restaurants, and live bands.
No Smoking inside the apartment
