About Tom & Kris Chiapete

We had both wanted to visit Colorado someday since we were young adults. We first visited Breckenridge during the summer of 1990 while trading our timeshare and totally fell in love with the town. Two years later, we purchased a condo at Beaver Run which we owned for many years and had many great vacations with our then young sons. We later decided to sell our condo and build our own home for our extended family and especially for our dogs to enjoy Colorado

Tom & Kris Chiapete purchased this house in 2002

Why Tom & Kris Chiapete chose Breckenridge

We built our log home in 2002 so we could enjoy hiking year round with our dogs one block from our home. We want anyone that stays in our home to truly enjoy their family vacation. For us, that means their entire family, including pets, which is why our log home is pet friendly.

What makes this house unique

When looking at floor plans to build this home, we wanted a very open concept which we have. The living room, dining room, and kitchen are all one huge room, with the loft overlooking this great room. We also wanted a first floor master suite for family members and guests that have difficulty climbing stairs.

Perfect Breck Mountain-Cabin getaway with all the amenities. We absolutely loved it. The 2 bay garage was large and perfect for leaving on our cargo SUV topper. The personal hot tub was awesome every night after skiing. My 3 kids loved playing in the woods behind the house. Was the perfect "cabin feel" and the large bay windows in the master made the scenery breathtaking at night. The large master shower and bath was also nice. My wife, sister in law, and 3 kids have all said they would love to go back.

A Hidden Gem

  • 5 of 5

We've been to Breck many times and have stayed at a wide assortment of rentals from the "ski-in, ski-out" types to the single family homes. This log cabin is by far the nicest. We were instantly awestruck by how beautiful it is--the pictures simply don't do it justice--and how homey it felt. The jacuzzi just out the back door was the perfect way to recover from a long day of skiing. Having a full kitchen with modern appliances was the icing on the cake. Just a word of caution for anyone looking to be right next to the ski area, this is a bit out of the way. You will need a vehicle as there are no bus stops. We actually enjoyed being away from the hustle and bustle of the tourist crowds. We drove into town when we wanted some action and enjoyed the peace and serenity when we stayed in. We will definitely rent this place again.

First Tom & Kris where extremely responsive and did all they could to make our trip easy and enjoyable. Their house is very well maintained and well stocked with the the things you need for all meals (exclusive of the food items your cooking). It is well located and we were lucky to receive a lot of snow which made the oversize 2 can garage wonderful (no ice scraping). Our extended full size SUV fit easily and the driveway was well as the road were well maintained. If you have a lot of snow I would recommend a 4 wheel drive vehicle as the road can be a little slick.

We loved the house and the hot tube. It was very clean and well stocked. Word of caution, don't leave drinks by the hot tube...animals enjoyed them as much as we would have. The house is very roomy as our group was 4 couples and we had plenty of room. It is also well located to the slopes and the town.

We will not hesitate renting this again in the future. This was my fourth rental in Breck and I was extremely pleased with the rental process and the accommodations. Everything included in the listing is very accurate and there were no surprises. We didn't get to see the moose, but the neighbors dog visited each night and was a blast.

Great Get-A-Way

  • 5 of 5

Well what can I say that hasn't already been said. The owners were kind and courteous. They really wanted to make sure our stay was memorable. The cabin was perfect for those that want to get away, but not be too far from a store/city/etc. The views from the jacuzzi allowed you to really enjoy the beautiful surroundings. Heck even the drive up the mountain from Breckenridge to cabin and back was scenic. Many trails and views surround the cabin. This place is perfect if you are one that likes to beat the trail on vacation or like to just relax. Also, the locals were very kind to us which made for an enjoyable trip. I hope to revisit this place soon. Best wishes from the great state of Louisiana and GEAUX TIGERS!!!!!
