Guestbook comments from the owner

I had the good fortune to be a guest at this home in Pacific Grove in August 2013. It is a truly charming place , located very close to the beach. The space is lovely with wonderful amenities. The kitchen is terrific....a dream for the cook! My favorite thing was the serenity of the bedrooms complete with luxurious linens to help facilitate your relaxation. I happily give a two thumbs up! I would love a return stay in the near future. Sincerely, Tarry B.

A wonderful home in a great location

  • 5 of 5

Our family stayed four nights here and we loved every minute! The house was the perfect size for two parents and two kids, and the location was great. It's an easy walk downhill to the oceanfront path, which offers views of the ocean, crashing waves, and sleeping seals on the sand. We also walked to Lover's Point beach and to the Aquarium and Cannery Row several times---a 15-20 minute walk and very scenic (note: a steep uphill on the way home).

Our kids--age 12 and 15--really enjoyed playing ping pong and pinball downstairs, and they loved having their own spaces within the house to hang out (bedroom, upstairs room). The kitchen is stocked with everything necessary for cooking and we ended up "eating in" more than eating out. Very comfortable beds and a claw-foot tub, too! The house has been meticulously restored and is beautiful inside.

It's not located in the touristy part of Monterey, which was a plus for us. We could walk there whenever we wanted, but didn't have to deal with the summer crowds and noise. Pacific Grove is a quieter community with its own shops, restaurants, and a small farmer's market as well as big grocery stores (Trader Joe's, Safeway). We ended up splitting our time between Monterey and Pacific Grove (we liked both, for different reasons) -- and all of us spent more time hanging out in the house than we'd anticipated. It truly felt like home.

Awesome!! Beautiful home and it worked perfectly for our short stay

  • 5 of 5

The little loft area with 2 single "beds" worked perfectly for us. We loved the floor plan, décor and the game room downstairs. The kitchen was stocked really well.

Impeccable home that was oh so comfortable!

  • 5 of 5

We loved the home and the area! The house has everything you would ever need with a full kitchen, games, beach towels and fresh robes : ). The owners were very delightful and met us when we arrived and when we departed to do the key transfer. I would definitely recommend this home!

A fantastic location. You can walk to Cannery Row, historic downtown or the beach. The house has been totally remodeled and is very clean. The decor is lovely, especially the bathroom.

Making Memories!

  • 5 of 5

We had an excellent stay at HideHo! The photos do not do it justice; it was a quaint, cozy, updated cottage with beautiful artwork adorning the walls and ocean views from the master bedroom and deck. The kitchen was very well stocked with everything we needed to make meals and the beds were ridiculously comfortable! You can really see the thoughtfulness that the Robin and Rob put into making their cottage a home for guests; such as high quality towels and bed linens, higher end pots and dishware in the kitchen, and fresh flowers and wine upon arrival.

The location was phenomenal as we explored the Pacific Grove area and beyond. It was a 10 minute walk (with a 5 year old) to the coastal trail where we enjoyed long bike rides with gorgeous views of the beautiful coastline and wildlife. The main street in Pacific Grove was also a short walk away where we enjoyed yummy bakeries and other treats. We also made excursions to the aquarium, Carmel beach, and Point Lobos State Reserve. At the end of each day, we were very happy to come back to a relaxing living room with board games and netflix! Robin was also very responsive both before our trip and during our stay whenever I had any questions. Hideho is a real gem and we are looking forward to returning soon!
