About the property

Two bedroom, 2.5 bathrooms

Just minutes outside the quaint town of Weaverville and only 10 minutes north of Asheville, we are in the ideal location for both nature enthusiasts and the Asheville scene.

Nestled in the mountains overlooking the Reems Creek Valley, these recently constructed green-built cottages are located a short drive to the picturesque Blue Ridge Parkway; a round of golf at the Reems Creek Golf Club; trout fishing, hiking, ziplining or a paddle down the river.

Take a stroll down Main Street, Weaverville, where there is a thriving local community with coffee shops, art galleries, restaurants, spas, and a nature park.

Enter your cottage on the main level, you will be greeted with wonderful mountain views from the living and dining areas. On the lower level you will also have fantastic views from the master suite and guest bedroom. These accommodations are an ideal place for your next vacation. Each cottage has it's own private deck with gas grill, outside dining and views to wow you!

About Suzanne Mattera

The owners are Joe and Sue Mattera. After raising their family and living in Sarasota, Florida for the last 15 years, they decided to move to the mountains for a cooler climate and a more natural environment.

Joe, with a degree in architecture, has been building homes for over 30 years. He designed these cottages to be green built, non-toxic, energy efficient, and set into the natural environment to take advantage of the magnificent views and surroundings.

Sue has worked in Occupational Therapy and continues to do so part-time in pediatrics.

They have two grown children in college and a dog named Callie, who resides on the property.

Suzanne Mattera purchased this cottage in 2013

Why Suzanne Mattera chose Weaverville

We were pleasantly surprised with this property. Once we started to selectively clear the land, the views turned out to exceed our expectations! Also, we fell in love with Weaverville. The small hometown feel has all the amenities you could ask for and yet only minutes to downtown Asheville and the beautiful Blue Ridge Parkway.

Guestbook comments from the owner

Very clean and comfortable place. Quick drive time to hiking and Asheville.

  • 4 of 5

Delightful place in all respects other than;

One of the wooden deck chairs broke because one of the slats on the seat was missing. Those need to be replaced for safety reasons. Gas grill needs to be replaced also- bottom of grill is completely rusted out, allowing hot ash to land on the wooden deck floor.

Kitchen was great. Beds very comfortable. Nice shower. Very comfortable and cozy place. Would definitely consider staying there again.

A very beautiful mountain experience

  • 5 of 5

The cottage was immaculate when we arrived. It was stocked with everything you could ever need. It was beautifully decorated, very homey and inviting. The views were spectacular. We could not have asked for any better accommodations. The cottage is a place we would want to stay in again if we’re ever up this way again.

Perfect Cottage!

  • 5 of 5

My family and I were delighted when we arrived at this cottage! Can I just say, the layout of this home was very well thought out. The views from the large windows in the living room and dining room are spectacular. We enjoyed coffee every morning watching the beautiful sunrise over the mountains from the sofa as well as the porch. Even the bedrooms had expansive views. The home was spotless and very well appointed. Weaverville has a very quaint, small southern town feel to it. Asheville is less then 20 minutes away, with great restaurants, galleries and has very cool vibe. Will definitely be back!

Very clean, comfortable and livable.

  • 5 of 5

We were pleasantly surprised by how nice this cabin is. It is well appointed, clean and roomy, and appears to be new. It is an easy drive to Asheville; no mountain roads, dirt roads, etc. Real drive times are: 7 minutes to Ingles, 15 minutes to Whole Foods or Trader Joe's, and 20 minutes to the heart of downtown Asheville or Asheville Mall. It's easy to stay in and cook, or go out for a meal. Plenty of room to unpack and to store things. It's also quiet with a pleasant view. Great for families.
