GREAT TIME!!!! October 21-23, 2016

  • 5 of 5

What an awesome place to stay. We have been coming to PA for an annual family get together for the last 6+ years. This is our first stay at this cabin, but it definitely will not be our last. We had 8 adults and 5 kids. There was plenty of floor space for blow up mattresses in each room to accommodate the kids where necessary. We loved the idea of having laundry facilities so readily available. This is also the first time that we were all able to watch THE OHIO STATE football game together. The other places that we have stayed did not have TV available so the guys usually went to the local pub while the ladies stayed behind with the kids. It was awesome that we could all be together to watch, although, the end results weren't so good this time. :( Anyway, back to the cabin. One word...AWESOME!!!!!!! A MUST STAY!!!!!!!!

Great family get-a-way with a great cabin feel.

  • 5 of 5

Our family trip in Sept 2016 was great. Loved the look and feel of the cabin. All the rooms were clean and cozy. May need bedding updated a bit other than that everything was great. The weather cooperated and we were able to use my boat in the afternoon and had some great camp fires at night. Host was very good and got back to me very quickly about all my questions. We will be back.

Great family time!!

  • 4 of 5

Our family of 8 plus a toddler and baby enjoyed a wonderful time at The Log Home! We appreciated the well stocked kitchen, the linens and towels being provided, and especially the AC as we happened to be there during a heat wave. The location is great for going to Seven Points Marina where you can rent a boat to go tubing and water skiing and there's also a recreation beach area for swimming. It's conveniently close to stores and restaurants and yet private enough for solitude. You must check out The Meadows of Huntingdon for some great soft-serve ice cream! So refreshing on a hot day!

Excellent vacation

We have been to Raystown Lake four times the last five years. Never went to the same rental twice, but will next year!! Love the property, home, location, and peaceful setting. For us it was a home away from our home.

Nice Cabin in a Great Location

  • 5 of 5

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the cabin. Upon our arrival the cabin was clean, well stocked and the grounds were well maintained. There was plenty of room for everyone in the four bedrooms. The master suite was awesome with huge windows and high ceilings. We saw deer every morning and enjoyed fishing for bass and sunfish at the pond. The lake is a quick one minute drive from the cabin and the cove was a good spot for swimming and launching a canoe. Overall nice comfortable cabin in a great location.

This home is located at the northern end of the lake very close to the Army Corps' dam. You are just moments away from Ridenour Overlook, a spectacular viewing area of the lake that also offers some walking trails. A local secret, the best swimming cove around Huntingdon, known as Henderson Hollow, is a short walk down the road from your front door! If you'd prefer river fun, like floating or kayaking, a boat launch at Corbin's Island is located just below the dam's spillway & just minutes from the house too. You can also stay right at home here and enjoy the relaxation and charm of an old farmstead. The property is charming with a 1/2 acre pond & bank barn. The front porch is made for sitting & the fire pit out back goes over delightfully in the evening.

If the great outdoors isn't your thing, home is also located a short drive to downtown Huntingdon, PA. A historic movie theater, The Clifton 5, has daily showings. Juniata College has some great events & a museum on campus. Any history buff would love the historical society & McMurtrie house that nows functions as the county library. 4th street is an up & coming arts district for the small town with several galleries and a wellness center. There are also options for local dining, all your shopping needs, banks, and the hospital, JC Blair.
