Excellent quaint beach
I spent a month at this condo and enjoyed every minute of it. The beach was perfect, quiet not too crowded with an occasional sea turtle visit. The bus system made it easy to stay for the month without having to rent a car.
The condo unit was perfect for one person, but really wouldn't accommodate any more. The kitchen items (cookware and utensils) need to be refreshed and supplied.
Ming the agent/owner was incredibly helpful and responsive - 5 stars for her.
Very old but well maintained outside on the grounds.
Swimming pool heater not working, someone told me it was being replaced. On site manager very nice and helpful. A unit with air conditioning is a must have for me. My unit was very noisy in the afternoons and evening with the partying and loud music in a area on the beach closest to the complex until ten pm and people with loud cars playing up and down the highway. Night on site security was a great comfort.
Great location right on the beach!
We really enjoyed our stay at the Makaha Shores. This location is wonderful, quiet side of Oahu, right on the sand and ocean front. This is one of our favorite spots on Oahu after spending time driving around the island. A couple things I'd change; add A/C & update the condo, it's original from when the building was built. Otherwise, great place, very quiet and wonderful location on the beach! We would definitely stay there again!
It's a great place for a quiet vacation. Like that it is at the end of the island and out of the tr
Nice Pool and friendly people.
I had a wonderful time
Great Place. Ming is a wonderful hostess. This may not be the place for everybody...but I sure enjoyed it. Mahalo!
Go For The View!
I agree with most everything earlier reviewers said. It's old, far from downtown and everything from furniture and dishes and towels are outdated. BUT it is reasonable, right on the beach and you really can sleep listening to the waves every night. If you're not interested in the trendy stuff in Honolulu or spending your days shopping at Ala Moana Center, this is not the place for you. But access to the north shore is easier from here, as is access to Pearl Harbor. I did not miss the horrendous traffic in Honolulu. The beach is beautiful, but be VERY VERY respectful of the waves and undertow. My wife waded in water under her knees and was knocked down by the wave going back out. She's now seeing her chiropractor for possible ligament damage!
