About Richard and Audrey Koerber
We have lived in the Asheville for over 30 years. As licensed natural health care professionals, we are happy to help visitors connect with any services desired from the very broad selection of Asheville natural health professionals. Both Richard and Audrey come from large families and appreciate the preciousness of spending family time together, especially with grandchildren. We're always ready to add a few new visiting “family members.” Our interests include swimming, hiking, biking, traveling, and we love meeting new people. When traveling we enjoy experiencing local cultural experiences and the people native to that area. Travels that we yet long for are many, including bicycling in Bhutan, revisiting South America and always more time in Southern France or Nova Scotia, Canada (Richard's home previous to Asheville.)
Richard and Audrey Koerber purchased this Apartment in 1997
Why Richard and Audrey Koerber chose Charlotte Street
We've seen Asheville grow from a desolate downtown into the thriving, vibrant community that it is today. We love sharing “our town” with visitors. We are familiar with many special places of nature to visit via foot, bicycle, boat or motor vehicle. We also are happy to share our favorite restaurants, microbreweries and music venues. Brief history on the house: The land was purchased on August 29,1897 for $300. The house is believed to be built a year later in 1898. George and Isabelle Cooke built the house. He was born and educated in England. He entered the lumber business in Canada and met and married his wife there. He had lumber mills in Canada and Florida and it was this business that brought him to Asheville, where he established a lumber mill at the present site of the Biltmore Estate, the property afterwards was bought by George W. Vanderbilt. He was a resident of Asheville for nearly half a century and he was connected with Hans Rees Tannery, buying timber and bark, and his reputation for honest dealing made him known and revered throughout Western North Carolina. We have owned this house since 1997.

We had a wonderful stay here. John and Audrey were great hosts and the apartment was perfect for our needs as we visited Ashevill for ten days in April. Nice neighborhood and walking distance to markets and one mile to downtown.
Great, convenient place from which to enjoy Asheville
We really enjoyed our stay at this well-furnished place. It's easy to explore downtown by foot from here and the owners are friendly.

We have stayed at the property 3 times and would stay again. The owners are great.
We were pleased to have you stay again and are happy to have you return any time.
It was good to have some to talk together. And thanks for being tidy guests and kind to our home. We very much appreciate your joy and enthusiasm at spending time with your grandchildren !
Great apartment in a perfect location.
Close, clean and comfortable
This was a very homey apartment with great hosts. They had the perfect balance of being around when we needed them and not when we didn’t. It was maybe a mile or less walk to town with multiple good dining options even closer. We were fortunate enough to experience 11 inches of snow during our stay. What a beautiful place. We will be back!!
This VRBO was all we needed it to be! It was well decorated and had a comfortable bed. We found all the little extras that make a place special i.e. providing honey for a hot cup of tea, special bath products, and a lovely bottle of wine to celebrate our anniversary with. It is in walking distance to many nice restaurants and has offstreet parking. Would definitely stay there again if in Asheville again.
So glad that you found and used the "little extras", Barbara!
And you seem to have found your way around Asheville and beyond quite comfortably.
We are honored that you chose to celebrate your anniversary at our apartment. Best wishes !
