About Shauna Rumel

Hello,

My name is Shauna Rumel and I'm the owner of the Picnic Point cabin. Thanks for taking a look at my vacation rental. My son loves the sled hill in the winter and enjoys the pool in the summer. We reside in Seattle which is an hour and fifteen minutes from the cabin. We hope you will enjoy the property as much as we do. Again, thanks for looking!

Shauna Rumel purchased this cabin in 2005

Why Shauna Rumel chose Cle Elum

It's so peaceful at the cabin and the view is breathtaking. A cabinet builder put together the finishing touches on the cabin, making it one of a kind. Most of the furniture is custom made. From the pine tree railings to the tree trunk walls, this cabin has oodles of character. It's home away from home.

What makes this cabin unique

The view, custom wood work, furniture and the décor. Pure serenity!

Absolutely Perfect Getaway

  • 5 of 5

Could not have asked for a better experience or a better host for this much needed getaway. Took a long weekend to rejuvenate after an incredibly stressful few months at work. This cabin was perfect for the occasion. Tucked up high on the mountainside, we were away from everything except for the amazing views. The pictures here really don't do it justice. The cabin was incredibly cozy, and we made good use of the wood burning stove and seared up some fine meats in the well appointed kitchen from Owen's Meat Shop down in Cle Elum. The loft bedroom was lovely, and we awoke each morning to gorgeous views of the cascade mountains across the valley (except for the morning where we were completed clouded in, and just enjoyed the cozy cabin all day!) Otherwise, we were only a short walk from the National Forest trails, and had quick access to miles of trails. We lucked out where there was a perfect amount of snow that was wonderful for hiking, but not enough for snowmobiling, so we had the trails all to ourselves and our two old dogs.

Shauna could not have been nicer, or more accommodating during our stay. With impending, weather, she reached out and helped us work logistics for our arrival so that we would not be cut off by road closures. When roads still proved to be difficult, she helped identify back routes and alternate approaches to get us to the cabin. She stopped at nothing to ensure our stay was fabulous, and succeeded beyond expectation.

We had a great time at this cabin! It was cozy and well-appointed. The view from the living room and loft upstairs was fabulous! It was a great (quiet) place to retreat to! We will definitely want to come back. Thank you, Shauna, for your great hospitality.

A wonderful weekend in a wonderful cabin...

  • 5 of 5

...we had it all; beautiful snow, beautiful fall foliage, beautiful views of the valley and Mt. Stewart! Shauna's cabin is a perfect place for a relaxing, romantic weekend. We had a day of snow to enjoy the wood stove, play games and read. We cooked some excellent meals in the well equipped kitchen. The cabin couldn't have been better for what we were looking for. Highly recommended!

Absolutely restful!

  • 5 of 5

My stay at the cabin was delightful. Everything that is needed is there. The loft bedroom was super cozy, it has a small couch with an electric fireplace, which made a lovely reading spot for at night. Couldn't use the wood stove because of burn ban, but the furnace kept the cabin very nice and warm. The view from the deck is truly amazing! I had some cool brisk days, with very bright blue sky, with soft fluffy clouds! A fabulous walking trail, close by the cabin...walking distance. Beautiful fall color! The little town of Roslyn was so quaint, and yet had some fun little shops. I will be coming back for another visit soon...a wonderful stay for rest and relaxation.
