Overview

About the property

A relaxing hideaway in a beautiful location with your own private entrance.

Welcome to our “near the sea” getaway.

A very nice 'Coach House' retreat in a newer residential neighborhood. Located close to all the activities and attractions the area has to offer, but away from the hustle and bustle.

You will arrive to an entirely self-contained and private home away from home. It offers a 1 bedroom suite with a fully equipped kitchen, dining area, living room with a sofa bed and a full bathroom with shower and tub. The unit also has a washer and dryer in it.

It has it's own parking spot and small area to bbq or simply relax and enjoy your time here.

You can enjoy long peaceful walks around an idyllic setting with the pacific ocean only a short walk away.

World famous White Rock Beach is only 5 minutes away by car or can be reached by an energetic walk.

A long beach, a short walk from the Coach House, is a great place to enjoy low tide walks and explore the shells and sealife. It is a quiet area to sit and enjoy a picnic or try the water as the tide comes in.

Take advantage of the many different restaurants and shops along the beach and walk the promenade and White Rock pier, taking in the views of the hillside homes, Vancouver Island mountains and the Gulf Islands.

There are several golf courses within a short distance and Peace Portal Golf Course is only two blocks away, offering a stately 18 hole challenging yet gorgeous setting. It also offers a well maintained Par 3 if a quick 'practice' round is appealing.

The former PGA Tour Canadian Open Course Northview is only 20 minutes away by car.

Most courses are playable year round!

There are many other outdoor activities to choose from for your stay, hiking, biking, skiing and swimming in the ocean to mention just a few.

For the skiers, Mount Baker is within an hours drive, Seymour and Cypress are also within an hour and Whistler Blackcomb is under 3 hours drive from here.

Downtown Vancouver is an easy 40 minute drive from your driveway, Bellingham Washington is 20 minutes and Seattle Washington is only 2 ½ hours.

If gaming is something you enjoy there are several casinos within a short drive, both on the Canadian side and American side of the border.

The main house has Simply Beautiful, a full service aesthetics salon, and you are more than welcome to prebook that special personal beauty session while you are here. From a manicure to a full body massage or facial, there is something for you to enjoy. You can also book a session in the Infrared Sauna. Be sure to ask about the services available at Simply Beautiful when you book your stay.

If you are coming in your own vehicle we also have Auto Aesthetics by Phil below the suite. You are welcome to take advantage of this auto detailing service. You can prebook if you wish or book upon arrival.

If this property is booked for the time you are requiring please try our other VRBO Condo listing number 584629.

About Phil Lewis

We live in the main house which is on the same property. This is our neighborhood where we have lived for several years. We have grown up in the Vancouver area and settled here in White Rock South Surrey where our children and grandchildren live and go to school.

Phil Lewis purchased this apartment in 2009

Why Phil Lewis chose Douglas

We chose this area when new homes were being built because it offers a quiet neighborhood away from the 'hustle and bustle' of the city yet is close enough to partake in all the area has to offer

What makes this apartment unique

There is also a full service Aesthetics salon in the main house for our guests to take advantage of should they choose including an Infrared Sauna.

Safe and serene walking, running or biking routes.

It is a completely self-contained suite allowing the guests the freedom to come and go at their convenience without the worry of disturbing others.

Guestbook comments from the manager

Home away from home

  • 5 of 5

This property was top of the class in every possible category, and was exactly as described and illustrated on the website.

The accommodations were very comfortable for us and our two kitties while we awaited possession of our new house, and the place was spotless on arrival. The kitchen was well equipped and everything was in good working order.

Phil and Sue were consummate hosts and made us feel so very welcome during the two months we stayed at the flat. There was even a welcome beverage awaiting our arrival at the apartment! And Phil knows the area, so be sure to ask for tips and tricks for sightseeing and entertainment options.

The rental's location made it easy to explore the region, from White Rock to the Fraser Valley. We especially loved the convenience of being right at the Canada/US border.

Be sure to try the local pub, The Bennett, and take a walk across the border at the Peace Arch Park. Walking around the neighbourhood, you'll feel at home and completely safe and secure.

We can't speak highly enough of our stay, and especially of the hospitality of our hosts. We unreservedly recommend booking this flat!

Beautiful,relaxing stay!

  • 5 of 5

Apartment was very clean, neat and relaxing. It had everything we needed. The neighbourhood was very quiet, but was close to all the sights we wanted to visit. Phil is a very kind man and is always willing and available to assist in anything that you may need. The chilled bottle of wine and the freshly baked (warm) chocolate chip cookies were an added bonus. Would definitely stay here again.

Fabulous Place

  • 5 of 5

The accommodations were excellent. We were traveling because my daughter was in the BC Soccer provincials and we wanted a self contained unit for the week. This met all of our expectations and more. The neighborhood is truly beautiful, very close proximity to the soccer fields, grocery store, White Rock and the July 4th fire works show. Phil and Suzanne are wonderful hosts and we wish we could have visited with them more. We will definitely book this location again. thank you Phil and Suzanne!!!
