A great cabin in a wonderful location!

  • 5 of 5

My family stayed for a long weekend and we had a wonderful vacation. It was easy to work with the owner and set everything up. The cabin is located directly on the lake with a nice dock. The cabin has a secluded feel with only one neighbor. It has great fire pit. It is close to some great trails and it is near a ton of other small lakes. The cabin was bigger than expected. It had nice furniture and the beds were very comfortable. It has a nice selection of movies and games for family fun! I look forward to returning in the spring.

Wow, what a great experience. We will be back again for sure!

  • 5 of 5

We have worked with a lot of rentals in the past and this was one of our most pleasant experiences. Don was quick to respond and work with us on some of our special requests. He made sure we had a grill, use of the boat, wood for the firepit ready to go and the kayaks were out and ready for us to use. The cabin is clean and so comfortable. I loved the big kitchen/family room area where we spent a lot of our time playing games. The kids had a great time with the ping pong and foosball tables downstairs. We appreciated that Don had games and movies provided for us- less for us to pack and bring. The lake is quiet and the bike trails are so convenient. It had all the things we needed to make for a great weekend. Our family is already planning another trip this summer. Thank you Don for making sure we had an amazing family getaway!

Worst customer Service Ever and Mice Infested

  • 1 of 5

Don sends me a contract to sign with out a price, when we got home he wouldn't give me the full refund deposit back he claims there was a typo in the contract.

The 1st night my nephew slept on the futon and the mice were running around the kitchen and kept him awake all night. When we awoke there was mouse feces was all over the counters and kitchen floor. They had to know there was a mouse problem because they were up there the week before working on the cabin.

The $200 a day pontoon didn't have a anchor for fishing for pan fish. So my advice is stay away from this place.

Owner's Response: Robert, I was disappointed to see your review. I wish you would have communicated with me during your stay (or even after) about the concerns you had. I was not aware of the lack of an anchor for the pontoon so I am glad you brought that to my attention. I have owned this property for nine years and can count the number of mice we have had on one hand. Unfortunately the torrential rains of this past summer brought the critters to higher ground and into the cabin. We managed the challenge with traps and sealing areas of entry and have not had issues though the winter into the start of spring. I am sorry that affected your stay. My records show that your initial payment was short and in an effort to make things easier for you I offered to cash the deposit check and refund the difference so you didn’t need to send another check. In the end I am sorry you did not have a good experience staying with us. We pride ourselves on providing an easy and comfortable experience for your lake retreat. You are certainly welcome back to try again and we would hopefully exceed your expectations.

Perfect weekend

  • 4 of 5

We took a little chance on the weather but it was great. 65 out and sunny. Rode the trails for the first 3 days, came back to the cabin and cooked up some great meals. Played ping pong down stairs each night. The cabin has a huge screened in porch, kind of new, and the wind had pulled some of the screen off one side. Still kept most of the bugs out. The cabin it's self was very comfortable. Nice furniture, a kitchen that had just about all the plates, silverware etc we needed. We were less than a mile from the trails, the lake is right out in front of the cabin so we enjoyed some kayaking. Washer and dryer worked well also. No bad comments from us. Our kids and puppies had just a great time.

Very comfortable, beautiful property on the lake - and pet friendly too

  • 4 of 5

The house was clean and comfortable. The kitchen was stocked with pots, pans, silverware, etc. We have stayed at several VRBO's and found it odd that there was food in the fridge and freezer when we arrived (kinda creepy) and another cupboard was stocked with food items left behind with a note "not for guest use" ....... Also you may need to bring your own paper towels, napkins, Kleenex and toilet paper and dish soap - I expected to buy laundry soap, but not paper products and dish soap too.... It looked to us like someone had cleaned the place but left behind their food and beverages!

The lake was beautiful and calming, a fire pit sits close to the shore line with a picnic table close by - beautiful! We did not have the opportunity to use the unfinished game room in the basement, but it sure looked inviting! The screened in patio was very nice.

We were not able to spend as much time here as we would have liked, because we were in town to attend my gramps funeral. My brother, his wife and 2 kids shared this space with us, and we found it plenty spacious - having a full bath and 1/2 bath was amazing, as we cycled through showers and baths for all in a very limited time frame. Although you will not find the towels in the bathroom - they were in each of the bedroom closets, so look before you get into the shower ... hahaa

Thank you Don for sharing your pet friendly home with us!

Owner's Response: Rose, Thank you for your feedback. We are happy you enjoyed your stay and hope that you will come back (although we hope for a happier reason, sorry for your loss). We really appreciate you sharing the goods and the not so good so we can improve the experience for you and future guests. Sorry to “creep” you out with the food. We use the cabin and keep our food there sometimes. We are rethinking how we can address this. As for the paper products and soap- they should have been stocked- we are so sorry to hear that they were not. We are actively planning on how to avoid this problem going forward! We also love your note about the towels. We have been brainstorming ideas of how to make that experience easier and more apparent for visitors. Next time you visit you will see a lot of improvements that we can thank your feedback for. Again, thank you for staying with us. We would love to have you visit us again this season!

Looking forward to going back!

  • 5 of 5

We visited this cabin in August of 2013. There were 5 of us at the cabin…it could have slept more people comfortably, so next time we’ll bring the whole family. :-)

The cabin is very clean, comfortable, and in beautiful condition. It has all amenities that we could need. The property was very quiet with only a few others using the lake while we were there…so serene. The lake had awesome fishing…my hubby was happy about that! We rented the pontoon and spent hours on the lake fishing and hanging out in the sunshine.

My husband and son did lots of biking on the bike trails on the other side of the lake.

One day it rained, and we just drove into town and spent hours in the many antique shops, and picked up some groceries.

They have a fire pit, which was great on the cool evenings.

Looking forward to going back!
