Very peaceful

  • 5 of 5

We had a excellent experience at Back Nine , would do it again, plenty of room for everyone . Had a Birthday party and a Wedding all in the same weekend. Nice just to watch the Deer and Turkeys , and plenty of solitude. I will be back. Ron Buehring July 30 to August 5 2016

Enjoyable Stay In Beautiful Colorado

  • 4 of 5

My husband and I brought our two horses with us for an extended stay here in August and had a fabulous time. The property is located near Vallecito lake which is very nice for many outdoor activities, hiking, fishing, boating, etc. There's also a terrific restaurant at the lake, Pura Vida, which we ate at three times during our stay. The drive to downtown Durango takes 30 minutes but it is pretty and there are several different routes you can take to vary it up. The second floor in the house, main living area, sits up in the trees and provides very pleasant views. You can't help but like the privacy and peaceful quiet of this country location. The owner is very responsive and accommodating. Enjoy!

Durango Colorado Texas Creek Ranch

  • 5 of 5

We loved our stay at Texas Creek Ranch. Large decks out both sides of the cabin for comfortable sitting in both morning and afternoon. The kitchen, living area, and master br/bath are upstairs for great views of both the property and surroung area but also the wildlife (deer, turkey, squirels, chipmonks). The downstairs has an additional two bedrooms and a bathroom....very accomidating for our group of five. The only negative be it small is the distance from Durango (30 mins). Secluded, quite, clean, well kept property, would definatly book again. This was a great place to stay and owner was very accomidating. loved feeding the horses in pasture on property, drove aroung ONE evening at dusk and counted 49 deer, lots of turkey, some wolves, and a female elk...for a group from the arizona desert this was cool. Everything we needed was there...pots, pans bbq, washer/dryer, tvs in most rooms, direct tv, full kitchen, and lots of seating all over house and patios. Yes wifi/internet is what...I was there to get AWAY from that!

Great Week

  • 5 of 5

We give the Texas Creek Ranch full 5 star rating and loved our stay. The house is well kept, comfortable, and laid out beautifully for a small group. The upstairs gathering area is very open with windows and glass doors out both sides leading to decks. There are TV’s in all rooms and well supplied with videos and satellite TV to watch. The owner is responsive and accommodating.

The house is quiet and remote. We saw deer and smaller wildlife every day. Though not necessarily a bad feature, renters should be aware there is no cell phone service (at least not Verizon or AT&T), and the internet connection is limited (not fast enough to stream a movie). There is a land line for emergencies. There are at least 4 routes to Durango, most of them beautiful drives that require at least a portion on maintained county (dirt) roads. We didn’t find any route less than 35-40 minutes if you respect the posted speed limits. If you need groceries Bayfield will be a faster option.

The Texas Creek Ranch is a great place to vacation and fit the bill for us. We enjoyed it thoroughly.
