About Mario Ruiz

I'm a Brit now living in LA with a wonderful retreat in Wabash, Sugarloaf. My cabin is ideal for couples, friends, families & escapists to enjoy all the amenities of the natural surroundings in Big Bear.

Mario Ruiz purchased this cabin in 2013

Why Mario Ruiz chose Big Bear

Sugarloaf is quiet, private & only a short distance from all that Big Bear has to offer.

I have a fantastic property manager by the name of Izzy who knows everything about the area having grown up here. He has guides & recommendations for you on arrival.

The cabin is cloaked by beautiful Redwood trees making for an aesthetic surrounding & atmosphere to unwind. Whether you are here skiing, boarding, hiking, biking, boating, golfing, bird watching - you will leave feeling very refreshed.

What makes this cabin unique

The big open kitchen lets you choose to stay in and have a feast indoors on the fine dining table.

Conclude the evening with a soothing dip in the hot tub, play some classic board games, watch your favorite shows on Cable or look amongst the DVD collection for something different (Fawlty Towers will have you in stitches !). This all on a widescreen with surround sound as well as high speed Wi-Fi. No chance of cabin fever here.

2 bathrooms means momentum in getting up & getting out in the morning - the 'slowey' can use 1 bathroom whilst everyone else can use the other.

My cabin has had the touch of a renowned Feng Shui Master if that's your thing - it's evidently mine. However in a word Feng Shui or not this is a 'feel good cabin' for you to enjoy.

Nice place

  • 5 of 5

We had a nice little stay here for Memorial weekend.

Izzy was awesome, helpful and very nice!

Took advantage of the hot tub but couldn't stay in for very long. Next time we won't turn the heat all the way up.

We also loved the large kitchen table. It was perfect for our card games.

Made a nice steak dinner and the kitchen was stocked and had all the cookware and plates we needed.

Unfortunately we didn't get to use the fireplace but there's always next time.

There was plenty of seating to spread out and still be in the same area for the 4 of us.

Thank you Izzay and David!

Fun for Kids

  • 5 of 5

Our group (three adults/three kids 3, 5, 7 yo) stayed over the President's Day/Valentine's Day weekend. The cabin was super clean, spacious, well-stocked and looked just like the photos. We cooked, watched DVDs, jacuzzi'd, and were in close proximity to the grocery stores and ski resorts. Check-in and out was easy and I would definitely recommend this listing.

My cabin is situated in a very quiet and heavily forested area of Big Bear. You can really get away from it all. Plus, it is only a 10 minute drive from all of Big Bear's major tourist attractions.
