About Betty Slay

Our family has been at this spot since the 60’s, where there was once a plank-on-plank cabin.

The old cabin was replaced with the RIVERDECK CABIN with a deck right on the river at what is now Main Road and Slay Road.

Succeeding generations have been enjoying the activities that Ruidoso has to offer: hiking, fishing, horse racing and horseback riding, as well as skiing and snowboarding.

We enjoy the nights out to dinner in the village and the strolls down main street shops, as well as the occasional side trip to nearby attractions.

We’re sure that you will enjoy a visit here as have our family and guests, most of which have been returning year after year.

Why Betty Slay chose Ruidoso

Family owned and operated since 1985.

What makes this cabin unique

Ruidoso, the regional hub of Lincoln County, NM, offers horse racing, golfing, biking, fishing, hiking, museums and performing arts as well as skiing and snowboarding at Ski Apache on Sierra Blanca.

Great place to stay

This was our first time to Ruidoso and we love it. The owner was very welcoming and had many suggestions of things to do. The cabin was very cozy and clean. Had exactly what we needed.

Nice cabin...great location

  • 5 of 5

When we arrived, we met the property owner. He was very nice and welcoming, assuring me that if we needed anything, he was a text or phone call away. That was our last interaction...because we had everything we needed.

We traveled with 3 kids, 10, 8, and 5 years old. My wife and I had a queen size bedroom while my 10 and 8 year olds shared the other room with two twins. My 5 year old sleep on the ample floor space.

We cooked our breakfast and lunches at the cabin. There was all pots, pans, and utensils we needed for basic cooking.

Outside, there is a deck and river (more like a creek) 10’ away! It was really nice!

We enjoyed the location being that it was a long walk or short drive to all the main restaurants of Ruidoso.

Would I stay here again? Definitely! Are there a hundred other places to stay? Yes, but this is the only one I can speak of.

My family said, at night while playing games in the living room with the gas fireplace going, that this place felt cozy, warm, and relaxing!

Thanks Riverdeck! See you next year!

weather was a little on the cool side, but it was great to be in Ruidoso. Nice place to stay, close to downtown. You can almost hand feed the deer as they walk by. would stay again.
