About the property

4 Bedroom, 2 Bathroom Chalet, Accommodates Up To 12 People.

We welcome you to our Adirondack Chalet, set in the towering pines of Jay, New York, in the Heart of the High Peaks. Relax in cozy comfort and unwind by the wood burning fireplace after a full day of exploring the High Peaks trails or skiing at Whiteface Mountain. Fish in the famous Ausable River for the best trout and grill it to perfection on your own deck. Enter the deck from the upstairs open floor living space. Surrounded by tall pines and birch, nature abounds. This 4 bedroom 2 bath chalet is set on 3 private very wooded acres, and sleeps a maximum of 12 people.Fully equipped kitchen and all linens, towels, and blankets included. Enter on the first floor to a comfortable den with a reading nook by the picture window. There is a brand new futon that sleeps two comfortably. Down the hall are 2 bedrooms.

The 1st has a full size bed that sleeps 2. The 2nd is what we call the bunk room. It has 2 sets of bunk beds and sleeps 4 all together. A bathroom with full shower and bathtub is on the 1st floor as well. Wander upstairs to the heart of the house. The vaulted wood ceilings and skylights create a gathering space for all. This open space contains the kitchen equipped with all the essentials and more, the dining area with a long oak table to accommodate everyone, and the living area with a crackling wood burning fire, flat screen TV for viewing DVD's- large collection of DVD's to choose from. Also on this floor is the master bedroom with a king size bed and the 'trundle bedroom', which has a you guessed it, a trundle bed that pulls out to 2 twin beds.

The 2nd bathroom is also on this floor, with full bathtub and shower. Our chalet is not the ordinary rental home, it is more personal and charming with many oil paintings and artwork, personal treasures, antiques, and retro chic. Rentals are available all year round by the week or a minimum of 3 days. We encourage weekly rentals for July and August. So bring your hiking boots, skis or canoes and get out and enjoy the beauty of the Adirondack Park. And don’t forget to bring the dog, they like to reconnect with nature too. We are dog friendly, no extra fees.

The Whispering Pines Chalet is located in the Ausable Acres area of the Hamlet of Jay. Surrounded by towering forests and mountain peaks, the famous Ausable River winds it way through the forests and valleys. Hiking trails abound, turning into cross-country ski and snowshoe trails in winter. Not to miss in Jay is the famous swimming hole right in town, by the covered bridge. Slip and slide down the rocks into the refreshing cold water of the Ausable River. Its a great time for the whole family.

We are also conveniently located only 15-20 minutes away from the Ausable Chasm, a great day trip. Whiteface Mountain, the olympic mountain is also only 15 minutes away for the highest vertical drop in the eastern US. The High Peaks area of the Adirondack is a sports enthusiasts paradise for all seasons.

Very Comfortable Place Near Whiteface

  • 5 of 5

The chalet was perfect for our group of 11. It was as advertised, nice and cozy with plenty of room to accommodate all of us. The kitchen was loaded with everything we needed from utensils to plates to pots and pans....

It was roughly 15 minutes to Whiteface Mountain and probably another 15 minutes to the village. It was a great place, quiet and away from it all yet close enough to enjoy skiing, shopping or the Olympic sites.

Shortly after arriving, the owner (Terri) reached out to us to see if we needed anything. She also allowed our dog to join us for the week. Even though my dog didn't say much, I know he enjoyed himself too.

We enjoyed ourselves - thanks Terri.

Great chalet in the woods,

  • 5 of 5

My family and I had an awesome time. The chalet is as advertised and is becoming our ‘home away from home’! So much so, that I am bringing my sister and niece next weekend for their first Adirondack experience! If you want to get away from it all, this is the place to be!

Amazing House!!

  • 5 of 5

If you're looking for a family getaway to both relax and snowboard this is the place to go. Its quiet and gives you that missing piece of home. Minutes away from Whiteface. Even though we didn't have a dog it is pet friend and you can't come across an amzing deal like this nowadays. Minutes away from Lake Placid and plently of quiet roads by the river to take a walk down. Five Stars! Thank you for everything and can't wait to cspend another weekend here.

Absolutely gorgeous cottage!

  • 5 of 5

Terri's cottage is absolutely fantastic. It is in a gorgeous location surrounded by woods. We enjoyed it. It was clean and and as described. There were no surprises. Terri was very responsive and I never had to wait. The interior is really nice and it shows that heart and soul that is put in designing it. All the information provided before was very helpful. I would highly recommend people to consider this cottage. Thank you Terri.
